PLease can anyone let me know the process to load a rom onto a HD2 that will not boot up....? Windows mobile device center will not detect it either. Bootlogger screen says I have SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE, and underneath it says CotullaHSPL if that is any help. I would really appreciate any help!

After task 29 you have to flash a ROM. Task 29 wipes your device so if you don't hold down the volume down key at the end of task 29 it will not have any operating system. Just remove the battery and hold down the volume down key till you see the bootloader screen. Then flash your ROM and all is ok.
after task29,when your device reboot
press botton "volume down" and will go in bootloader mode
now if you have your device stuck in white screen, remove battery cover
press red botton for softrest and press "Volume down" botton

It won't because you're in the bootloader. Does it say USB at the bottom of the bootloader screen? As long as it says USB when the phone is plugged into your computer, flash a ROM and be happy
Hello!
And what if my hd2 not entering into the boot loader?
Thanx in advance
There is only one way to get into the bootloader.
Hold down volume and keep it down....
After that press the start button and your phone will boot up.
Now you will see the tree colored screen and you're in the bootloader.
Goodluck.

When you are in the bootloader screen, connect the phone to the computer /with the usb cable/ on the same bootloader screen it will change to USB - look at the bottom of the screen:
Open the folder - on your computer - where the ROM you want to flash is:
find the "RomUpdate*.exe" or "Install.exe" /if Android it will most likely say "DAF.exe" - run it as Administrator/ file and run it. Do as it says on the screen.
Do not disconnect the cable, do not touch the device. When it is finnished it will restart the device, disconnect the cable and enjoy your new OS.

use a <4gb or preferably <2gb sd card - class 4 or 2 with LEOIMG.nbh.
HSPL3_pkg after that - make sure .nbh (as above on sd root) is your stock and you CLEAN-reinstall bootloader.
ps:
Then hspl, then radio, then magldr, then windows 7, the hacks, then call M$= LIVE!
Hi guys i have a similar problem. After task 29 i went into the bootloader but can't install any rom whatsoever. I have SPL 3.03 on my devide, mind no not hard spl but SPL. Can anyone please help me solve this issue? I also tried to flash using sd card but it doesn't work. Please help me save my hd2. Thanks in advance.
tmo-hd2 wont go into bootloader after task29
Hi guys, i am facing exact same thing which dannytgt faced (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...count=1)...but with no luck what so ever.....was running a stock rom in my hd2 3.14....wanted to try wp7 and did a task29....after that...hd2 doesnt go into bootloader screen....tried all possible combinations with/without sd,sim, holding vol down, vol up, both with power tapped...power holded etc etc...hd2 always goes into stick together screen and doesnt progress as there is os to load....opened up the mobile and tried with a pin to push the vol down switch directly also....all hardware keys were working gr8 (including vol down and up and power keys) whn win 6.5/android was running.
i know for the fact that this is reversable....if only my hd2 can get to bootloader...i will hv os running in a jiffy....
any ideas ppl? my hd2 is 3 months old ...no warrenty cos i bought it in US and using it in india..
bootloader dont load
some more details...tried to task29 (doloop) with 100% success and then my tmo hd2 wont go into bootscreen what ever i do...its stuck for ever in "stick together"...i know there is no os to load...but i dont understand y cant my hd2 go intobootloader
so far i tried
with holding volume down and power key with a single tap
with holding volume down and holding power key
with holding volume down, volume up and power key with a single tap
with holding volume down and reset button
with/without sim
with/without SD
with/without plug in wall charger
with/without plug to pc via usb cable
observations...when i pull out the battery and put it back in and then connect to computer when the phone is still off....the charging indicator LED glows in orange.
when in this mode if i switch the phone on with power/end key....it doent start...i have to pull the usb out, the orange LED still glows...and if i tap the power/end key nothing happenes...i have to pullout the battery to get it to start and eventually get stuck in "stick together"..
would really appriciate if any1 can help me get my hd2 into bootloader screen...

Isn't it ironic: Stick together!...
There is a guide on How to get back from WP7 here on the forum.
First i would sugest to reformat the card from WP7 bul...
If i understand correctly, you can't get into bootloader or magldr!?
So you can't do nothing?
You can try this sollution and if it doesn't work, go to the service center to reset it totaly.
There was a guy with the same problem here:

Try, taking out the battery for 10 seconds or so then put it in while holding the volume down key and powering up.
Got stock ROM back in first time but kiss goodbye to the data on your SD card. I had to use a Canon camera to reformat the card to get back the 14GB it was hiding.
This WORKED. Thanks a TON splinters69.
For future uses, this is what I did.
1. Took out the battery for about 30 seconds.
2. Put one of the LEOIMG.NBH on storage card
3. After putting the battery held the volume down button and pressed power button.
4. It went into HSPL mode straight away and started loading the win 6.5 OS.
You saved the day Splinters69. Thanks to Clydeb1 too for that modelIDcheckbypass.

Man, did you say blackstone? You should go into Blackstone forum
To go into bootloader, turn off the phone. Press volume down button and the POWER ON button (not start button) at the same time until the screen appear. It works on both Leo and Black Stone

Hi all,
after successfully unlocking the bootloader and flashing CyanogenMod 10.1.0 RC2 boot.img via fastboot from Linux, I couldn't manage to boot the tablet again.
I tried several things (Emma, Flashtool, etc.) in order to relock the bootloader and/or flash a stock ROM, but I only could put the device into fastboot mode.
Things are getting possibly worse now: the red notification light is still, I can't neither reboot (pressing Power+VolumeUp for 5 seconds) nor halt (Power+VolumeUp for 10 seconds)...
What a mess! Anyone can suggest me how to fix this situation, please?
Alberto
This is why u shouldn't mess with your tablet.just use it as it came, not worth the hassle

This answer is about as helpful as a heart attack lol
I can assure you that even us dev's run into issues like this, I soft bricked my new tab 5 times today (still trying to figure out this recovery/no recovery thing sony is doing lol).
Aberto, I had/did the exact thing today, first off I'm guessing you have a wifi only like I do right? Those roms/boot imgs won;t work it seems, Im learning as fast as I can so I can get a port for Baked for this tab, I own the wifi only so its my first priority.
Here's what I did, took allot of patience, so be prepared to try a bunch of times!
1. Unplug the usb cable
2. hold both vol + and - (I know this is not documented but stick with me here), then press and hold the power button until the led flashed "white" "3 times" (u will see one white flash, then after about another 20 seconds a second set of white flashes will begin, it will blink 3 times)
3. Plug in the usb cable
4. Make sure you have emma/drivers setup, since this is a windows only (boo!) tool you should here the usb device plug notifiction that it detected the "S1 Service Sony Mobile Communications AB"
This only lasts about 1 minute before it will go back to red led, launch emma and restore a stock image from sony, after its done, unplug the device, and hold power, it should come back to life!
Thanks nycbjr, I tried this morning before getting to work and I could "unlock" the red notification light.
This evening I'll try to get further in the process of resuscitating my tablet.
Thanks for the tips!
Alberto

Glad I found this topic, but so far I can't get it to work.
Situation is the same I guess, red light, tried to flash the wrong img to my wifi only modell.
When I press all 3 buttons at the same time, the first white blink shows up after about 5secs, then there is a 3 blink sequence also in white after another 3-5secs. If I plugin the usb cable still holding down the buttons, no usb device is recognized, nothing happens..
If I keep holding down the buttons a 3 white blink sequence shows up again, followed by a white/red quick blink, then after 5 secs another 3 white blink sequence starts again, followed by a white7red combo et cetera. As soon as I release the buttons it turns to a constant red again.
Any more ideas or should I just keep trying?

Normally it is the follows:
Hold Vol+ and Power.
1x blink = Reboot (doesn't help you in this case)
after holding it longer
3x blink = Shut down (device is switched off and in a defined state)
Drink a beer
open flash-tool and prepare the firmware to flash
Hold Vol- and plug the device to the computer
If the led turns green the firmware will flash
If not check what the flash-tool says in which state the device is
If the led turns red maybe the battery is to empty?!?
I don't know about the red led, but thanks for the hint.
Pressing only vol down when pluggin in the usb seems to have changed something. I tried power+vol down before but that didn't help.
Now flashtool seems to be working, it says it's flashing, but it seems to take ages. I'll let it keep on working for now (running since 10mins, but after "checking header" and "flashing data" there is no progress anymore...yet). I'll report back
I canceled it after 2h with no progress...damnit.
Does anyone have another suggestion?

Hi, try flashing again with Emma but use a different USB cable i had a similar issue where the flash started then seemed to freeze so tried a different cable and it worked.
Edit: lol seems i missed your post where you tried again with Emma -_- glad you got it sorted though

you need a big kiss from someone thanks a million :good::good::good::good::good::good::good:
This worked for me, albeit after trying the first part (holding VOL+, VOL- & POWER) intermittently for 2 days.
What seemed to get the table/battery to reset was I connected the USB cable to the charger on a wall outlet on the second day. When I plugged in the cable the Red LED came on and stayed there. After an hour it was still red so I removed the cable and tried 1) pressing VOL+ & POWER (about 3 seconds), then 2) VOL- & POWER (about 3 seconds) and after a while the red LED went off.
Then I tried the VOL+, VOL- & POWER and it started blinking white once, then white again after a while, and I was able to continue with the instructions.
Thanks!

Are you holding back button or menu button? Menu button s the last one in right..
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using Tapatalk 2
Give more detail steps, tools, Windows version. I used Flashtool and had prob at first but successful after a few tries.
Hello
Hello mate , are you sure that the button you are pressing is the Menu button ?
Many people confuse the Home button which is in the middle with the Menu button ,
It goes like that ,
1) Shut down your phone
2) Plug your usb cable on your pc
3)Start pressing the menu button on your phone , (Not the left ( back button ) , nor the middle one ( Home button ) but the Left one ( Menu button )
4)While u Keep pressing your menu button then plug in the other tail of your cable with the mini usb. * Blue light * ON
I always keep Flash tool on at those times try keeping that too on.
If you havent installed your drives it may show u that they are getting installed , If they say they do and nothing happens with your phone though
Try going to , your Device manager on your computer and find the driver ( usually on top ) that is not properly installed , if u just right click it and press update , it will get it fixed and u will be fine.
So I've had this Nokia Lumia 800 gathering dust in a box because I could never figure out how to restore it.
I'm guessing it's corrupt firmware or something but I know it's a common fault on this phone.
It's just stuck on start screen with the NOKIA logo.
It does sometimes bring up the no battery symbol, just a battery with one red bar in the middle of the screen and then windows trys to install drivers for it, so I guess it's recognized to some extent (fails to install drivers)
Does anybody have any ideas on bringing it back to life?
The phone was never rooted or modded

You can try these (2) methods...
Method 1) Note If your phone is currently stuck on the manufacturer's logo, Disconnect your phone from the USB cable.
Hold the volume - and power buttons to turn it off. After your screen goes black, quickly hold only the camera button AND connect the USB cable to your phone and computer...before the phone vibrates and starts back up to the logo.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Continue holding down the camera button until you see the connect-to-computer screen.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Release the camera button.
Leave the phone restart alone, then wait about 4/5 minutes .
==========================================================
Method 2) What u need:
Google this and download : Nokia Care Suite
Next step:
1. Open Program files (x86) -> Nokia -> Nokia Care Suite -> Application louncher -> bin -> ApplicationLauncher.exe
2. Choose PRODUCT SUPPORT TOOL FOR STORE
3. Take a Nokia Lumia 800. Turn it OFF. HOLD VOLUME+ BUTTON and Connect to pc with usb cable. Release when it vibrates.
4. In PRODUCT SUPPORT TOOL FOR STORE press PROGRAMMING-> RECOVERY.
5. Next step Press: FILE -> Open product.
6. Choose the RM-801 product. Press open. Wait until it loads. Dont take care if shows in corner some errors.
7. Press START.
Wait for the Phone to flash and restart. [After flashing connect your Nokia Lumia 800 to charger and wait first it shows: Battery with red indicator, then NOKIA logo, after 2-5 minutes phone will boot up 100 %].
...Thats it
Samsung Galaxy S 2 AT&T
Jellybean
Rooted about 3-4 months ago
The phone was fully charged and on the arm of the chair in my peripheral vision. I saw the Samsung logo come on and since then nothing has changed. I can't go into any mode (vol+, vol-, pwr). Cable connection to the computer shows no response that anything is connected to the computer. I took it to AT&T and they said there were issues with the last update that caused irreparable issues. (Of course they want to sell me the latest and greatest) I got a new S 5 but I would like to pass the S 2 to my daughter. I didn't lose any apps, pics or data. I just want it back to stock + rooted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Just to be sure, are you holding vol +, vol -, pwr until you see the samsung logo the SECOND time?
It isn't always necessary to wait the second cycle, but it ensures that the key command is correctly registered by the phone.

I tried again making sure to release all buttons when I saw the logo the second time. I also tried again releasing the pwr button only. Nothing is working.
You need to see if the phone will go into download mode. There are several ways to put the phone into download mode. You should try all of them that you can before you give up.
Download mode:
1. With the phone off and connected to the computer via USB cable, and battery installed, hold all three buttons, vol- vol+ pwr.
2. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- and vol+ (but not pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
3. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- (but not vol+ or pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
4. Attempt each of the above three options with the battery removed from the phone. The computer will supply the power to the phone.
5. Use Android Debug Bridge (adb) which will only work if USB debugging has been already turned on in Developer Options, since you can't boot into the system to turn it on. With the battery installed and the phone connected to the pc via USB cable, use the command "adb reboot download".
6. Use a USB jig. With the battery installed insert the USB jig into the USB connector of the phone. Some have reported that this method works when no other method would work.

Okay. I was successful using option 1. However, I installed the SIM card (for my daughter's phone) and it has been stuck on "Downloading..." for around 6 hours or so. Should I have downloaded a stock OS or something? Is it waiting for me? Is it pulling the factory default OS OTA?

Sorry I didn't include more information in my previous post. Putting the phone into download mode just lets us know that the phone can be recovered, but it doesn't do anything by itself. The process of recovery is to use the Odin program to install a fresh stock firmware onto the phone. Since you appearantly are unfamiliar with the process, I will explain in detail.
First, download the stock 4.1.2 Jellybean Full distribution, I777UCMD8 from the Download Repository. (link in my signature) It's the next to last item near the bottom. The downloaded file is in seven-zip (.7z) format and you need to extract the contents using an archiving program. The resulting file, which will have a ...tar.md5 extension, is the file you will use in step 7 below. Also download Odin3 v1.85. There is a link near the top of the page in the Repository.
How to use stand-alone Odin3 to flash firmware:
Follow and recheck each of the following steps. Do them in order listed, as some steps are dependent on previous steps. Instructions are for Odin3 v1.85. It should work with any version of Odin, but some details, like color of items, may be different.
1.) Open Odin on the Windows Desktop.
2.) Have the USB cable plugged into USB port on the computer, but *Not* plugged in to the phone.
3.) Shut the phone off.
4.) While holding down the vol+ & vol- keys, plug micro-usb plug into phone.
5.) In Odin, you should get the yellow box under where it says ID:COM with the text 0:[COMx], and in the Message area, <ID:0/00x> Added!! where x is some number, usually 1-8.
6.) In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other items are not checked.
7.) Click on the PDA button. Browse to the tar file you want to install and select it so its path appears in the text edit box next to the button.
8.) Make sure the check box next to the PDA button is checked.
9.) Click the Start button.
10.) You should see the green progress bar advancing.
11.) When complete, you will get a PASS (or FAIL if unsuccessful).
Since you are unable to get into recovery mode now, you may have to enter recovery after the firmware flash is successful if it won't boot on the first try. Use the instructions earlier in the thread to enter recovery, and perform a wipe data/factory reset.
Once you have the phone up and running, Framaroot with the Aragorn exploit is the easiest way to root.
If you need further help or instructions, feel free to ask.
