Nokia Lumia 800 stuck on start screen, common fault? - Nokia Lumia 800

So I've had this Nokia Lumia 800 gathering dust in a box because I could never figure out how to restore it.
I'm guessing it's corrupt firmware or something but I know it's a common fault on this phone.
It's just stuck on start screen with the NOKIA logo.
It does sometimes bring up the no battery symbol, just a battery with one red bar in the middle of the screen and then windows trys to install drivers for it, so I guess it's recognized to some extent (fails to install drivers)
Does anybody have any ideas on bringing it back to life?
The phone was never rooted or modded

You can try these (2) methods...
Method 1) Note If your phone is currently stuck on the manufacturer's logo, Disconnect your phone from the USB cable.
Hold the volume - and power buttons to turn it off. After your screen goes black, quickly hold only the camera button AND connect the USB cable to your phone and computer...before the phone vibrates and starts back up to the logo.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Continue holding down the camera button until you see the connect-to-computer screen.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Release the camera button.
Leave the phone restart alone, then wait about 4/5 minutes .
==========================================================
Method 2) What u need:
Google this and download : Nokia Care Suite
Next step:
1. Open Program files (x86) -> Nokia -> Nokia Care Suite -> Application louncher -> bin -> ApplicationLauncher.exe
2. Choose PRODUCT SUPPORT TOOL FOR STORE
3. Take a Nokia Lumia 800. Turn it OFF. HOLD VOLUME+ BUTTON and Connect to pc with usb cable. Release when it vibrates.
4. In PRODUCT SUPPORT TOOL FOR STORE press PROGRAMMING-> RECOVERY.
5. Next step Press: FILE -> Open product.
6. Choose the RM-801 product. Press open. Wait until it loads. Dont take care if shows in corner some errors.
7. Press START.
Wait for the Phone to flash and restart. [After flashing connect your Nokia Lumia 800 to charger and wait first it shows: Battery with red indicator, then NOKIA logo, after 2-5 minutes phone will boot up 100 %].
...Thats it

As the ROM update seems to be broken in the OS part, you need to get the device in bootloader mode and restart your flashing in that state.
To get it forced to bootloader mode:
1.) push and hold the camera key
2.) insert USB cable (keep camera key pushed)
3.) wait until white screen appears
4.) release camera key
-> 3 color screen should appear
Restart your flashing now.
This is how it works for all (at least those I had) HTC devices in that scope.
Good luck

[Q] Nokia Care Suite and a "Bricked" Lumia Help

I have one of these phones where a standard factory reset on the device (just using the phone function) failed. I'm now trying to use the Nokia Care Suite tool to reflash it. The symptoms I have is that whenever I use the vol down + power button reboot, the phone goes to a screen where I just see the Nokia logo and that's it. Somewhere I saw people talking about using the vol up button so I gave that a shot and now I have a phone with a lightning bolt and a cog in the center of the screen.
When all I had was the Nokia logo on the device, when I used the Nokia Care Suite, when I used the volume down + power button to restart the phone, the tool would detect the phone for a second and then as soon as the Nokia logo shows up it gets undetected.
I'm assuming the lightning bolt next to the cog means the phone needs to charge, so I've plugged it in for the moment. My questions are:
1. Does anyone know what the lightning bolt + cog means?
2. Is there a special button combo I need to do when I connect the phone?
3. I can't seem to figure out how to download the ROM. It's ATT so I know it's the RM-820, but does the phone need to be connected in order for me to download the ROM. I am online in the tool, but I can't see to download the package without the phone being connected. I'm in the 5.0 tool for which I believe that the Data Package Manager functionality has been integrated into the tool. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Sean

I have the same question here. Can someone make a tutorial for unbricking the Lumia 920?
If you have only got to the screen with the cog and lightning I imagine that you have not managed to flash anything yet. Why it's not booting though I am not sure. Here are some things to try.
1, If you are stuck on the cog with lightning you can force the phone to switch off with a hardware reset. Hold the volume down key and power button together until the phone switches off.
2, Once the phone is switched off, I would recommend to restore the phone to factory defaults until a proper guide is released, if you can't not do this via the menu on the phone there is a way to do this via the hardware. Whilst the phone is off hold the volume down and power key until an exclamation mark is shown on the screen. Next, in the exact order press: Volume up, Volume down, Power, Volume down.
Your phone should then perform a factory reset which is nokia logo followed by cogs (no lightning) this should take about 3-4 minutes.
Hope this helps.

A little more background from me. I got into this state by trying to do a factory reset on the phone menu and what I got was two cogs spinning for about 5 hours. I turned it off and then I was stuck in this state where all I get is the ATT logo followed by the Nokia Logo.
When I hold down the power button and the volume down key, my phone turns off, vibrates and then I get an ATT screen logo, the screen goes dark and then I get a NOKIA logo on a black screen. I don't get an exclamation mark. I can't seem to get it to stop at an exclamation point and I have yet to see an exclamation point across any reset attempts. Is there a trick to getting the exclamation point? The other screen I managed to see was a cogs + lightning. Once the battery charges it just goes back to the Nokia logo.
Thanks,
Sean
When the phone is completely off start by holding the volume down key then the power button. Sorry if it sounds like I repeating my self but I have just done that on mine and it has worked, you need to hold them for about 5 seconds.

I don't mind at all. I appreciate the help. When I hold down the power button and the volume key, the phone does turn off, but only for a split second. It then vibrates, the ATT screen launches and then the Nokia logo shows up. I can't seem to find a way to get it into a completely off state. even if I lift off the buttons once the screen goes dark, it immediately kicks back on.
What happens if you hold down the volume down button and power button then when it switches off briefly you keep your finger on the volume key only?
Here is what you do.
Open Product Support Tool For Store 5.0 from NCS
Click File, Open Product, type RM-820 in the filter and click Open.
Click Programming, and select Recovery.
Click Find Online, and select the proper ROM for your phone based on the colour and if it is Rogers or AT&T/
Click Download.
Once it has finished downloading and shows up in the Properties window highlight it and click start.
Then reboot your phone using the volume down and power button. Make sure it is connected to your PC at this point too.
It should detect the phone when it boots up and start the flashing process. Sometimes it will time out before the phone is detected, just click start again quickly.
You may need to install the drivers for your device from C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers
or C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers on 32Bit.

when hold down the power button and the volume down button and then it switches off briefly, and then keep my finger on the volume down key only it displays the ATT logo screen and then it goes black and then it goes to the ATT logo screen and then continues to repeat itself as long as I have my finger on the volume down key.
When I hold the volume up key instead, I get the lightning bolt with the gears button.

Well I thought I was in the clear. My SIM card is reporting as invalid. When I put it in my old Lumia it works just fine, and it worked just fine in the new Lumia prior to it bricking. I've given it about 7 or 8 hours now to connect and no luck. I put it back in the old Lumia and it still works. I tried ATT support and they said I should try a new SIM but I'm wondering if the reflash has put the phone in a state where the SIM won't activate?
My phone was updating craigslist app, then rebooted on its own, and now it's froze at the black screen with the white nokia logo. i have 7 zip but the link you provide for navifirm, i'm not getting it to download as it either downloads 7 zip or some crappy toolbar bloatware. Can someone please help as id prefer not to return the phone, as it would take weeks to get a replacement most likely.
Damn i had to hold power and volume for quite a while for the phone to actually shut down again and reboot. Hell I may need to get insurance for this thing. Not cool

My Nokia hangs in Reset-Loop, so is set it to recovery mode.
But now, I can not start Nokia Care Suite on Windows 8. I can install it, I can start it, but when choosing an app I get an error message (can not get error, application error) and Windows 8 says: the application is not working anymore... i tried different version, uninstalled, restartet, installled, restarted... but can not get it to work.

Stuck NOkiA screen

Hello All,
I have a Nokia Lumia 920. My friend gave it to me and i was planning on using it. I figured a factory reset would wipe all his info so i can use it again. I did the factory wipe and i was stuck on 2 spinning cogs and it was going on for 1 hour so i soft reset it and it dosen't load anymore. It just loads to the NOKA LOGO.
This phone carrier is under Telstra in Australia. I am not sure if i am suppose to use a different firmware to flash or if i can use something in the North America.
I have download NOkia suite and NAvifirm+. Unfortunately nokia blocked the firmware to downlaods so i am not sure to do next.
The phone shows up on my computer as NOKIA boot mgr and i don't have the driver for it.
Any help will be fantastic.
:laugh::good:
use NCS for download firmware....

Restart the Phone by holding the Lower volume and power button. When the Nokia logo appears hit Up Volume, Down Volume, Power, Down Volume in that order. The phone should restart and go back to gears. Give it a few minutes to finish up and you should be good to go.

920 Windows 10 revert brick!

Hi - I've been running win10 preview on the 920 for a while now. Decided to go back to Win8.1. Loaded up the Windows Phone Recovery tool, and the phone was picked up OK. I selected to restore phone, it downloaded the 1.5gb FFU and started the restore. Pretty early in the process the Recovery Tool came up saying it lost connection with the phone, and to disconnect and try again. At the time, the phone has a reddish background with NOKIA and a progress bar on it with no progress made. I powered off the phone and wanted to try again. At this stage, the phone would not turn on.
I have tried the following:
- reset by holding down vol down/power
reset by holding down vol up/down/power/camera
restoring phone through Windows Phone recovery tool - however it tells me the phone is not connected.
restoring the image that got downloaded for rm-821 through the Nokia Care suite - again it says that the phone is not connected.
restoring the phone with nokia suite - however this says the phone is not supported.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I can try to get the phone going? Holding down vol down/power for 2min+ does not vibrate the phone like it used to. Windows's USB storage indicator on taskbar however shows up when I connect the phone, and when I hold down vol down/power it does seem to turn off/ and on again after about 15 seconds. But that's the only sign of life I'm getting - nothing on screen, no lights, no vibrations.
Ideas?
Cheers!

Oukitel WP15 bootloop (maybe bricked)

Hello,
I'm going on again on my WP15 which is on bootloop after trying to put an magisk patched rom to obtain root.
The objective now is just to put a official factory rom (which I downloaded from the official website for the right model)
The problem now is not how to do that but how I can connect the phone to the computer because :
Assuming that the phone is connected via usb-c to the computer on usb-a and the phone is on.
1 The screen is black
2 windows connect sound
2.1 Com port connected (device manager)
X wait 1s
3 windows disconnect sound
3.1 com port disconnected (device manager)
2&3 x2
4 Screen on : On screen :5G oukitel logo + android logo + Orange state; devive unlocked[...] not trusted[...]; device will boot on 5s
repeat 1 indefinitely
Please Note :
That I do not have ADB access since I switched from w10 to 11 so the rsa keys are not valid.
The phone is stuck but when I say stuck, it's completely because button vol- + power = nothing, constant bootlooping and vol+ + power = the same schema (1,2,3,4) except that there is no wait time between 2 and 3, it's instant.
The phone is only off when out of battery, As soon as I connect a cable the phone turn on and I can do nothing except disconnect cable and wait (Can be very long with an 15000 mAh battery...)
There is absolutely no custom bootloader so no twrp or any custom recovery/installation bootloader.
With that... I think it's definitely bricked... I'm already thinking of soldering a new rom (or asking someone to do for me)
If you need more details or precisions tell me !
Thank you in advance !

seems you missed the most important thing what I've said - ignore any phone activity, just hold.
use this for flashing https://spflashtools.com/windows/sp-flash-tool-v5-2208 I've used 5.2134, lower versions not support mtk6833. and do not use 6.+ versions.
again:
- install mtk usb-com drivers (by manual of flashtool if you did not do it yet)
- check at firts only boot.img and vbmeta.img (do not use "format" only "download")
- power off phone (if you can't, plug your phone in pc and click "download", it'll throw error with suggestion to disconnect battery, but phone would power off. if this didn't help, then just skip this point and try to continue anyway)
- unplug your phone
- click "download" button (yes while your phone unplugged)
- on unplugged phone, hold both volume buttons and hold power button too (three buttons at once).
- hold it all >15 seconds (20 for sure) and ignore any phone activity, just hold.
- release power button only (keep holding both volumes)
- plug your phone (still keep holding both volumes)
- now flashing process must start and you may release any buttons.

Hello,
Sorry, I was not very active since this post and I abandoned for a very long time.
But ! Your instructions was good and I finally got my phone back to life !
Since then I realized that the Oukitel brand is very sketchy about theirs ROMs on the Oukitel website because the WP15 model is associated with the WP13 ROM on the download center so... WHY ? this is so confusing because now I have a WP15 advertised ROM (From a website... Yes... I know I was dumb to do that) and it's working yes... but this is very buggy for example the gyroscope is crazy or my MAC address is never the same even if I turn the built-in MAC address spoofing option off...
I will do some research just to get my phone as normal by doing it as clean as possible because I know now what is implying for doing that.
Thank you so much for your patience and especially for your guide and I apologize for my dumbness.

have no idea what are you talking about.
just checked in dl center on oukitel official site and seems all is ok. wp15 have it's own fw page and redirect to correct dl fw page, wp13 have it's own.
you can't mix up fw, in case wp13 signed exactly as wp13:
v318a-oq-s88-128g8g-bom2-hdp-r0-cts-eu_OUKITEL_WP13_EEA_V12_20210731_user_20210731.tar .gz
wp15 have no direct sign, but it have a cpu defenition:
TF919_OQ_S89_6833_R0_EEA_V1.9.7.2_S211014 .zip
i.e. mt6833 aka dimensity 700. wp 13 have a dimensity 800 aka mt6873
nb, in dl center, fw tool seems not works properly, so you must use a flashtool as I'd referred before.
I've tried everything, for 5 full days, then had no option left but to give up. Sorry.
