If you read the original Fre3vo/Fre3dom thread, Fre3vo is the tool to temp-root devices.. Fre3dom was the S-OFF tool that has since been discontinued. Although I'd like to have S-OFF as much as anyone else on these forums, I believe that they can do anything they like with their findings, and have every right to do so.

I would like to ask a simple question to XDA....Why is Dropzeroc not a recognized DEV? He has the best rom out for Evo 3D, and the best rom out for Evo 4G, what else does the man have to do?

Yeah that's what it must be. Because if he has submitted a request than he definitely should have had it by now...

on a serious note though, there could be many reasons as to why he does not have RD status...
like he hasn't even applied yet....has a previous infraction against him still in effect or some other dispute behind the scenes which you would not know about.....OR another very likely thing, is that the Developer Committee hasn't gotten around to his application yet as they are swamped with the current crop of submissions...they take it very seriously and are very thorough in reviewing it all....everyone here has a life outside XDA too...

Ummm where have you been? It's the only Rom with CRT that's 2.17 firmware based, and by far the best Sense 3.0 experience out the box...

There is no "best ROM out there" because that is solely an opinion. To me the GT Version of ZR3D is one of the fastest if not THE fastest 2.17 based ROM here, and the skins on both normal and GT are above all.
But...that's an opinion. (A damn good one though if I may say )
2.17 is old school, it's all about 4.0! :b no need to bash him but yeah there is no best ROM, I could care less what features a rom has that no other has, I'm sure other DEV's could do it too...

Right... As far as user experience goes, its all opinion... But there truly is no best Rom, they're all great, and the devs take a lot of their personal time to build these roms... They all deserve thanks, and respect....

I remember last year in the 3D forums some annoying girl kept posting all over the place, including the root collaboration thread. She got flamed big time cause she was giving some bs pointers on how to root the 3D.
She created a new thread, a place for thanks, and went crazy on all the smileys. Anyone remember her? Definitely will be a cat lady later in life lol

Not to hijack this thread but I remember!!!! The user name escapes me, but I remember her posting all that crap, along with spamming the IRC channel.
Right up there with a user with a name that escapes me at the moment, that claimed to get s-off on the 3D and swore up and down that a very dangerous method worked, and other users tired it and ended up with bricked phones. I did look back and it seems any reference has been deleted, but I do remember him earning his own "meme", but it was one of shame and disapproval.
Back on topic.. I would like to say thanks as well to all the devs hard at work on the LTE, and a future thanks to those that will soon join us! Without them we wouldn't know you can flash to boot, or do splash screens, or update radios via HTC's unlock method when s-off was the only way to do that in the past! Exciting times ahead!!!

You are correct though, SteelH's threads are closed b/c that is his choice 100% and he's closing them as they have that power over their own threads.
We should all be thankful that he chooses to still do those things as those tweaks he posts are great learning tools for new people looking to get into things over time.

Yeah, there's some good folks here. Due to hardware, software, knowledge and confidence limitations, I was unable to use lazy panda for s-off. Regaw_lienad actually came to my house, bringing with him his entire home PC setup (keyboard, tower and monitor -which actually got scratched in transit) and helped me achieve S-off...........................TWICE!!
(my first Evo got stolen 3wks after launch)
I, of course, paid him for his time, but that wasn't an arrangement, he was coming to do it free, just to be a good dude.

I apologize only now while scanning through my participated posts in tapatalk did i realize what grave offense I've done .
The fact is i don't have an evo (as is evident from the fact that you wouldn't have ever seen me lurking anywhere around here). 1) we don't ask for eta's here, it's against xda etiquette
2) their hands are tied and they are working without source for the most part, it's hard work
