I'm a Bell user and I just flashed Kenneth's 4.5.9.1 ROM. Everything is working fine except the reception. I can't get more than one bar, and data speeds are terrible. I'm using radio version N_01.92.00R -- is there a better radio that I can use?
N_01.77.30P is what I use on KP's rom. Works great.

I used this too and accidentally upgraded to the Orange radio after bricking my device. The baseband is N_01.100.00R and it seems to be working just as good, if not better. My voice comes across a lot more clearly.
I was thinking of switching back to N_01.77.30P but there's no discernible difference in network speeds or coverage. And voice quality is great.

No problem!
how can u know its best and so on??
Here in USA, I found 2.69.x rom version makes a huge difference in a data session. I can actually see the speed difference between 2.69 and 2.19 or 2.20 radio roms. I'm on Tmobile USA networks in NE area.
i used 2.19.21 radio only for better battery drain...

Hi Kenxu, I am also on T-Mobile USA. I was originally using the 2.69.X version, but I noticed that when my phone went into sleep mode, a lot of phone calls were not coming through.
I have since switched back to 2.20.21 and my phone seems to be responding much better. I do not use my phone for heavy data session though.
Does anybody know what Radio Rom works best / optimal for T-Mobile USA?

alright, which rom were you testing using 2.20.21? I was using Crystal V3.
From my own experience, there are some differences between these versions in:
- Battery drain
- Phone quality and coverage
- Bluetooth and Wifi (communications/speed/compatibility)
Going for higher version improves what above but sacrifices stability sometimes and compatibility with OS built used.
Cheers

I have Tmobile and had 2.69 but had some issues, forgot now but downgraded to 2.47 and now I am back at 2.69 without any problems. I have noticed with all radio roms or maybe its WM6 that I don't get a warning when I have a voicemail. Not sure what is going on.

Hi
I have been using Cronos rom for a while now, but the reception has never been great. I am currently on the standard radio, does anyone know if a new radio was realised when three pushed out 2.1.
Thanks

Yep, you can get the latest one at http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?307-Gsm-Hero-Radio-Roms-Download-Links
The last one was the one included in the official update, but some orange UK people said they had issues with one of them (can't remember which).
If you get issues, just try the one before it.
Latest Radio works like a charm for me...
I am hoping to get a discussion about the xperia x10 for users in the U.S. I am using wolf's TW 007.1 with custom kernal on baseband 52. I am wondering what others are using in the U.S.? Which rom, baseband is working well for you?
I use WB's CM6 rom too, but I use baseband 54, which in my opinion is the best for X10a in USA. I tried using the new AT&T baseband 2.1.65 on WB's and had text message problems, and 2.1.65 limited data to 3G on AT&T 2.1 update.
I'm using .52 with the custom kernel on WB's TW007. No issues thus far for me. I've also tried it on .54 and can't see any discernible difference.

I've tried both as well and I feel the same....it's just good to know I'm not missing out on anything. Thanks.
I'm using BB 67 and it works great.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but basebands deal with a radio signal, which is why some are better for certain regions. I started with wb's rom with 55 and then 54, both gave me good reception and there would be a lot of switching between 3g and H. Since I've moved to baseband 52 I still get good reception but only the H, which I'm not complaining about at all, I'm just trying to understand why. Thanks.
I'm running stock 2.1 generic with BB 54, rooted and junk removed. Everything works fine. The reason I do not use any custom ROMS is because there is always something that is not working properly or only partially working.

The only issue I have with WB's rom is that there is no zoom or led for the camera but that is almost a non-issue for me.
67 worked great for me, signal and battery wise. running 54 right now on ew's rom
So, Batman, you're not the only one encountering this! I thought it was just me. Primary problem for me is flaky WiFi, but the last ROM I tried had an issue with texting, although it may have been because I was using AT&T BB of 65 instead of SE's BB of 54. I've pretty much given up on custom ROMs until GB comes in August and we'll see how that goes (running stock 2.1 rooted and de-branded with BB 54).

Yep. It has been common knowledge on here for a while that custom ROMS are always missing something. So you would have to pick which ROM has what features missing that you can live without before installing it.

I guess I just like to mess around with my phone. Also most developers tell you what is missing for each rom so it is pretty easy to pick and choose.
I am using the same (CM 6.1.3 with Wolf's TW 7.1 with custom kernel and .52BB) and have not seen any problems with wifi or data connection or voice calls. No issues with camera but some time video recording lags (though its manageable)...

EC09 is supposed to be the GB radio, which is what i have on right now...
BUT personally when i first flashed Test build 7, I was on ED01 and did not flash EC09 radio and it worked fine.
I actually felt like i had better reception and everything else was smoother overall.
I thought maybe there was a bad flash or i screwed something up, so i went all the way back to DL09 and worked my way up and i still dont feel like it was as good as when i had it on ED01
So basically YMMV, but i think a lot of people are enjoying EC09
A number of people in other threads have complained of more missed calls with the EC09 modem than the ED04 modem, which could make sense considering ED04 is newer.

But some also like the EC09 better, and they are able to achieve better data rates. That being said... the safest bet is probably just using froyo and ED04.

I'm on CM7 (tb#7) with ED04 modem and it works perfectly. No missed calls and GPS lock is instant.
I'm on EC09, but I think ima go back to ED04, the battery seems to drain quicker on this radio though no missed calls or anything else. Speed is the same but I'm on Metro PCS and not on Verizon.

Haven't tried EC09.
Hey guys got a quick question. My data is very weak running ICS AOKP My build number is: IMM76D but my baseband says I777UCKK6. Is that the correct baseband? My understanding was that the last three numbers and letters should be the same. If there is a better modem for me to use can someone point me in the correct direction?
Here are some modems look in the middle of the op. THEY WILL WORK FOR AOKP

This shoud do fine. THANKS for the quick responce and link!!
Baseband only affects the radio - and the baseband version is fully independent of anything else.
As long as it's a UC modem you're fine. I'm still running UCKH7 (UCKK6 led to high battery drain for me. But others have had great results with it.)
I flashed UCPLC5 with AOKP, and have had pretty good results with it thus far.

Same here, I seem to get better bandwidth/reception with UCPLC5, and have not noticed any extra battery drain in the 4 or so days I've been using it.
