[Q] Returning to Stock - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi ive searched all forum and i hope im not being repetitive... is there a way to come back to stock 1.8.3 from gingerblur without flashing with rsdlite? i already hardbricked one atrix so im afraid of the rsdlite tool :S
I just want to remove gingerblur and come back to motoblur

If you're on ginger blur the pseudo rom then the back to stock zip in the themes and. Apps section will do if u are on gingerbread the zip rsd will be fine if u are on ota gingerbread then follow the pudding guide

+1 above just for encouragement. Only rom that can lead to bricking if you aren't careful is the stock leaked rom. Well, i should say only one that has a known brick issue if you mess around with going back to an older sbf. I guess you can brick with any rom but ken's is safe.

[Q] Safest way to flash back to stock (froyo) from cherryblur?

anyway.....my adb ability and fastboot ability has mysteriously disappeared
ever since I started using cherryblur (V0.4d IIRC)
the dev (navalyt) suggested me to sbf or flash back to stock.
whats currently the safest way for me to go back to froyo?
cheers

If fruit capes fail then use RSD to flash gingerbread and pudding right?
Sent from my semi de-blurred atrix forged on Mt Olympus
IF you have cherryblur that means you are unlocked..
probably you have and news tenfar port of CWM or the official via Rom Manager..
right?
i think cherryblur is only by cwm flashable and not fastboot(no need to)
so.. the safest way.. is CWM zips..
make a backup of what you are right now..
and then flash a fruit cake of froyo.. or maybe an old backup if you had before you went on 2.3 ..
AVOID sbf's..
If the contain bootloader stuff, you are screwed!

Fruit cake shouldn't fail. It should flash without problems. I meant, if fruit cake doesn't fix your problem, only THEN use RSD to flash 2.3.4 sbf with pudding. (You are unlocked, right?)

sorry to revive thsi thread
tried to use a froyo fruit cake to flash back to froyo...BUT in the middle of flashing the zip it popped up a warning "noob check: build prop...olyATT" or something along those lines.
is that because my build prop is showing the french version of the atrix instead? cherryblur 1.3 is based on the france ROM...soo editing the build prop shoudl fix my problem?

[q] s5830xwkt72.3.6

Good morning mates,
I installed few days ago the S5830XWKSD [04.11.2011][Android 2.3.5].
It was described like a very good rom but I don't find it so great and I want to flash it.
Before changing it I would like to have some comments on the rom in subject and any suggestion about a good stock rom.
Thanks to all for your comments

Let me ask you something.
Is it possible to upgrade froyo to gingerbread 2.3.5 from odin,
Or do i have to upgrade step by step which is
froyo 2.2.1 => gingerbread 2.3.3 => 2.3.4 =>2.3.5
Thanks for help in advance.

No you can go direct
I can say my experience. I jumped from froyo 2.2.1 to gingerbread 2.3.3 and then 2.3.5.
Probably you can flash directly to 2.3.5.
But It's better wait for a confirmation from more expert people.
As said before, yes, it can be done directly to 2.3.5.
The story is different if you want to DOWNGRADE to froyo.

Also please note that We're not as experienced as you so

Also i've read some problems occur after direct upgrade. Thats why i asked for.
There are many foolish data exist for android. It's hard to choose one to beleive.
two fast questions before flashing the ks9, do I have to make an hard reset before and after installing a new stock rom or just after?
Do I have to make a battery calibration after installing a new rom?
Thanks

I passed from froyo 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 using a multipackage and from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 and to 2.3.6 using a one package.
You can do the same and avoid any risk.

[Q] Hey guys! Need help with my SGA

Hey all I've been browsing the forum for a couple of days and decided to join so I can speak with you all ok so I've been pretty scared with all this android modding and rooting etc. because its more difficult than anything I have done before u.u I have already semi-bricked a Galaxy Mini recovered it, then hard bricked it by flashing the wrong recovery but anyways I got a SGA like three weeks ago and I am one of those guys who like to mod/flash everything and I don't like the idea of my Ace being Stock xD (I have a flashed xbox 360, modded wii, and jailbroken ps3 and have done jailbroken/unlocked iphones) anyway I wanted help on how to get started on all of this, my phone is currently:
Stock Rom Carrier: Claro
Froyo 2.2.1
And I want to install any of these:

Can anyone guide me to accomplish this?
And perhaps I can learn from the one who helps me
PS: I have been reading on this forum for a whole week xD
P.S.: b4 I post this let me tell u that i have been reading xda forums for a whole year b4 joining
Now lets get back to work
So u r on FROYO huh ????to root on FROYO you can use SUPERONE CLICK ..they have a tutorial too ..next up why dont u upgrade to gingerbread ????then ull be able to flash CM7..just google "2.3.4 for Samsung galaxy ace androidadvices.com.. they have a good tutorial too ....then google" root Samsung galaxy ace 2.3.4" to root on gingerbread (after u have upgraded offcourse)...hit the thanks button if I helped ..

Wow! a whole year! well I couldn't resist and joined xD this forum seems to have an awesome community
Anyway I kinda knew about the superone click but umm if I root with that then I can go right ahead and install CWM and Custom Roms?
Install CWM4 or 5 for Galaxy Ace, you shouldn't need Root for this. You can find them on this Forum if you look. This will replace your stock recovery. Once this is done you place your ROM on the SD card, reboot into recovery and hit install from Zip then choose your new ROM. Simple as that.
If you need any more help let me know

Ok so I don't need root to install Custom Roms?
And I don't need to upgrade the FW to Gingerbread or anything because I've been reading a lot about this and I'm kinda confused?
-----Edit-----
Also don't I need to make a backup or anything? xD because I don't want to brick my Ace its the only phone I have right now.
U don't need root to install cwm 5 ..well I think u should upgrade your firmware to 2.3.xx because most of the roms for SGA are based on gingerbread .ie they need gingerbread basebands ...if u flash them on your FROYO phone u will BRICK your phone !!!!!
Btw I always got what I needed In xda by googleing so I never felt the need to join xda ..
Sent from my SGA rocking CM7.2 by vo-1 + all-in-one script
Sure you could make a back-up, it is always good to have just in case. You can't restore a stock ROM through recovery, you'll just get a boot loop, but there are other methods to restore your stock back-up. Froyo to Gingerbread is no problem, it is Gingerbread to Froyo that it becomes more complicated.
EDIT: But some ROM's do require you to be on 2.3.x so you could do an official update to Gingerbread to "ensure" everything goes smoothly.

Sorry for all these questions
Well, they don't say. Why not be safe and flash a stock 2.3.x ROM with ODIN. Better to be safe then sorry right?! Are you familiar with ODIN?
Yes I have used ODIN in the past before but only with the One Package option.

And if I where to flash that stock firmware which one should I use European?
Yup, that is what you'll be doing. I wrote a little tutorial on it a while ago, the link is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408974&highlight=2+3+6+update

[Q] completely stock 2.3.6 ROM anywhere??

So many threads that I cannot find it. I am currently unlocked on nottachtrix 1.2.9b but it keeps restarting my phone randomly so I want to flash a completely stock ROM, can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks guys!
searching dev forum returned this list of firmwares http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125944. Find your country/carrier and go for it.
As an alternative, I have used Aura (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186990) and was better than stock for me and includes webtop.
If you feel adventurous again, try miui-us V4 2.3.16 also in the dev forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383721).
Hope I was able to help

You said your atrix is unlocked (or are you on Atrix2 since you mention Supercharged A2?), then root, install romracer's cwm for atrix and use cwm to reset, clear data and cache, then flash a rom of your choice.
All available in the dev section.
