[Q] completely stock 2.3.6 ROM anywhere?? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So many threads that I cannot find it. I am currently unlocked on nottachtrix 1.2.9b but it keeps restarting my phone randomly so I want to flash a completely stock ROM, can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks guys!

searching dev forum returned this list of firmwares http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125944. Find your country/carrier and go for it.
As an alternative, I have used Aura (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186990) and was better than stock for me and includes webtop.
If you feel adventurous again, try miui-us V4 2.3.16 also in the dev forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383721).
Hope I was able to help

Check the Fruitcake thread, stock roms are there.

Thanks a lot! And if I use rsd to flash the 2.3.4 SBC it won't brick my phone right? It was at 2.3.6 before

You said your atrix is unlocked (or are you on Atrix2 since you mention Supercharged A2?), then root, install romracer's cwm for atrix and use cwm to reset, clear data and cache, then flash a rom of your choice.
All available in the dev section.

I don't have any issues with 1.29b. Maybe flash romracers recovery, do a complete wipe, and flash 1.29b directly.

Downgrading the version risk bricking. I soft bricked mine when I went from 2.3.6(prior to a few ROMs) to 2.3.4.
I would:
Fastboot -w
RSD Lite flash 2.3.6 from //sites.google.com/site/motosbf/atrix-sbf-files (Sorry, I don't have enough posts to be allow to make links)

I found this on one of the topics here:

i have statusbar issues with that one...

I fixed the restarts by flashing the 2.3.6 sbf (not pudding), and I left it like that... no more unlock since I believe that was the issue. Every ROM I tried had the same results

Yes. You can download the 2.3.6 fruitcake from fruitcake backup thread and flash via CWM. Then the 2.3.6 webtop and flash via CWM. Remember to perform a full wipe first.

[Q] Can't flash a custom kernel on AT&T Atrix

I've tried again and again, following multiple sets of directions, but for some reason, whenever I try to flash faux's OC UV GB Kernel for my AT&T Atrix, the phone won't boot or get past the boot screen. I have no idea why this could be happening and have tried whatever I could think of to fix the problem but no luck so far.
I've tried to flash previous versions as well as the latest version of faux's kernel using Romracer's latest CWM, but it hasn't worked. I keep having to flash back to the stock AT&T kernel to get the phone to boot up. I've tried this on the HomeBase Rom, DARKSIDE Rom and on the Alien Rom. The ROMs work fine with the stock kernel though.
I also tried flashing CM7 and faux's CM7 but that didn't work either.
Anyone think of why this could be happening and have any suggestions that I could try to get this working?
Thanks in advance for the help.

When I have flashed a rom like DARKSIDE, which has the kernel built-in, the phone won't boot and I have the same issue, even though it has the correct kernel, unless I flash back to stock at&t kernel.
He has a GB version and a CM version out. Are you sure you're using the correct version for your rom?

yes, I have tried the GB AT&T/Unified Version for when i have flashed a GB Rom and I tried the CM7 Kernel for when I flashed CM7, neither kernel was working for their respective roms.

Sorry it took a while for me to get back to you, thanks for your suggestion, I did try this but still no results. I reflashed pudding and put recovery back and then tried flashing the kernel again but it still gives me the same result. Anyone have any other ideas i could try?
I also tried doing a full wipe after flashing the kernel as well, that didn't work either.
sorry man, i can't think of anything that might be causing that problem. you should send Faux123 a tweet and ask him about it, if he has spare time he might be able to help you out

Question about bootstrap

Is bootstrap recovery the same as clockwork recovery? Are they one and the same?
Also I'm on kernal 2.3.4 do I have to do anything special if I want to load a 2.3.5 rom?
Sorry I'm new to playing around with motorola phones.
I thought they were the same when I first started hacking my phone. But it turns out they are not the same.
As for updating your phone to 2.3.5, if you are on stock 2.3.4, all you need to do is root your phone, install bootstrap recovery and flash the 2.3.5 ROM using bootstrap recovery.
There is a nice guide someone put together in the dev. Section.
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Basically, yes - those recoveries a almost the same. They are both used in the same way, which is to backup/restore, wipe data and flash a ROM. So there's no real difference.
As for the 2.3.4 kernel. SOME people can get away with flashing a 2.3.5 based ROM on their 2.3.4, others can't. Either way, I'd recommend just updating to 2.3.5 to safe. Plus (to me), 2.3.5 seems smoother and faster.
To Update to 2.3.5, just download the update.zip from here: http://www.multiupload.com/0ZT7FTOW0R
This is just the update file, so all you need to do is flash that, but I won't get into much about that.
If you need a guide on updating it, then you can look at this one right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391824
That's the one I used.
Ok so I'm currently on Molten 2.2 wich is a 2.3.4 romand was looking at liberty rom wich is 2.3.5 rom. So all I would need to do is just clear the needed data and flash it like any other rom?
The reason for asking about if it was clockwork was because in one of the roms the instructions says to use clockwork and I never saw a like to clockwork in the dev section
Yes I looked in the stickies first and these were just the questions that popped up that I didn't see the answer to it. I may have just over looked it but I figured I would ask before I borked my phone lol
looks like while I was writing a responce some one answered lol thank you all for your help
U don't need to root to install 2.3.5
It is signed by moto so we can flash in stock recovery
(actually that's how you SHOULD FLASH 2.3.5)
And our BSR is a hacked/ported cwm
To update to 2.3.5 you WILL need to be STOCK (you CAN be rooted but it will take away root when u flash it....just root again with zergrush...)

Just so you know, Liberty is a 2.3.4 rom. Have a look at the OP in that thread. If you're on Molten, just wipe data and cache and you should be set.

Will it work?

Ok, my atrix is running a Faux 1.3ghz kernel, CM10 v2.0 by jokersax. I want to get back to stock as possible. My backup of my original is no longer with us. Can I install fruitcake 2.3.6 with webtop with this kernel or do I need to flash a different one? If so, which one. I can use CWM well, but just don't want to brick my only phone before I upgrade in Oct.

You should think twice before you give out advice like that. Flashing through official methods is a sure way to brick your phone.
well, If I wanna to go back to stock i have stock SBF file, but I've got INTL Atrix so I won't get brick
I am considering making a youtube video of restoring my Atrix to stock using rsd because a lot of people think this is like crawling over a live landmine. It is totally *safe if you know what you're doing.

Simple. Just flash the 2.3.6 fruitcake and webtop as you suggested, then flash a Faux 1.3GHz GB kernel. Make sure to do a full wipe via fastboot first.
Don't flash SBF's. That should be considered a last resort!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 i-777 does not turn on only blinking black flashes

okay so I read through some of the threads and I still don't know how to fix my issue. I rooted my phone using Odin v 1.85 and used siyah 3.4.2. I did it successfully and everything was good. I then gave the phone to my cousin and he said he performed a factory reset to get rid of everything on the phone ( contacts ,etc). Now when I turn on the phone it shows the samsung galaxy display with the triangle and then the screen goes black and just blinks. It still goes back into download mode I just dont know what to do to fix the problem. I know I'm a noob but please HELP!!!
Development section. You'll find the stickies that show how to flash stock packages with Odin. Go back to stock to fix your issue. You should then be able to load a new kernel and flash a custom rom.
Oh, and never let that cousin touch the phone again.

You will need to root first. If you did not flash the stock plus root package already, flash that, and then install a custom kernel which has ClockworkMod Recovery. Then you can flash any firmware.
There is a good guide linked in my signature.

Thanks. I Used "Odin3 One-click Downloader I-777 UCKH7 Stock + Root No Bootloaders" to go back to stock.
I'm going to install Mobile Odin lite, I already found the flash kernel for the I-777. After installing both of these I should be good to flash the ROM of my choice by just putting the rom on the sd card right?

Flash a kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery, then boot into recovery and flash the firmware. Mobile Odin can't handle the CWM flashable zip format.
There is a Siyah kernel for gingerbread that would give you CWM so you could then flash a custom rom. It would be in the development section. Just make sure you grab the version for gingerbread and not ics

I assume you mean nandroid backup from ClockworkMod Recovery? No. It's mainly a space issue, where you want to store them, because they take up quite a bit of space, especially if you have several.

No, if you flash the 4.5.145 update from the thread via cwm, current firmware isn't relevant. Its like flashing a custom ROM, only difference is that its fully Blurred and non CM.
