Today I have updated to 1.9.0 of StreakDroid - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1003525&page=13
But after this i get some errors. (processes have to close)
android.process.acore
android.deskclock
com.android.deskclock
android.process.media
com.android.providers.calender
Can some one help me?
Did you do the factory reset before updating ?
Yes, up to now 3 times. Factory reset and Cache Wipe. :/
Last versions run without errors
Did you use the clockwork mod or streak mod to do a reset??????? as they will not fully reset it,,,,,, You need to use the factory reset on the first page with 4 options and not go into the clockwork mod
I have tryed both, but nothing works. And I use StreakMod. I think there are more errors with dell stage as with launcherpro.
atm I try to install it with "noapps" präfix
/edit/ Looks it works. Rollout my backups atm.
But no errors at home screen so far.
dont know what the issue is. But it works and so it is ok.
I used a few versions of Lite-ning ROM successfully without problems... on one occasion I unfortunately neglected to put it on USB debugging mode and went ahead and flashed via Odin as normal...
At the time, I started to get force closed in so many applications (stock email was the worst)... I flashed it again correctly but still had lots of them
I have since tried other ROMs which has reduced the frequency but not entirely... as a last resort have now done a full factory wipe/reset followed by using Exynos 3.0 however I still seem to be getting quite a few force closes... it mostly seems to be when filling in a form or typing message etc, if I move the cursor and hit backspace it just force closes which ever app i am in...
How can I resolve this permanently? Do I need to wipe and flash an official firmware version? Would XXKG3 be ok even though its beta? Cheers
Would XXKG3 be ok even though its beta Who says ???
Use recovery wipe cache factory reset wipe Dalvik . Mounts and storage format system data etc .
Use Odin to flash a stock rom should clear up problems .
I never use USB debugging mode with ODIN 500+ flashes .
jje
Thanks for the advice... Lite-ning ROM instructions state to put it in debugging mode, I assumed having skipped that step it might be the cause?
The site I found the offical KG3 firmware on stated it was beta and might be bugs...
Will try what you advise anyway, thanks for your help!
after i flashed the latest cm7 weekly-29-jan,something weird occurred.
first when i unplugged the usb from pc as i restore all apps, the phone can't boot anymore.
second thing, when i pull out the battery and it did reboot, but some apps disappered suddenly and it switched back to the original theme(i used to install a ics theme).
all the weird things never happened in the version weekly-22-jan.and i assume it has something to do with USB.i just don't know why.
any ideas frome devs?? thanks.
I just installed the zip
cleared cache and dalvik cache
and rebooted
Everything worked fine and then I flashed another kernel and all.I didnt clear data or anything like that and it's working fine for me.I bet you had a bad flash try clearing everything and flashing again and dont restore your backed up apps just download them again that might be your prblem.
Also fix permissions
I have my phone rooted and installed the FTS V2.4 ROM onto my phone, followed the install instructions. On startup I get a force close error, The application Motorola services (process.com.motorola.service.) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I then get the process com.motorola.home.other has stopped. Everything else works fine. I do get another error when trying to place an email and date & time widget. Is there a fix for this? It doesn't stop the phone from functioning just would like to fix it.
That is usually caused by a bad flash or incomplete wipe. Go back into the recovery wipe everything a couple of times reflash the rom and that should take care of it. I have had that happen on multiple phones with multiple roms.

So after booting into recovery I do wipe data/factory reset a couple times? Anything else I should wipe a couple times? And then do install zip from sdcard? Also, my friend said after it installs I should leave it for 10-20 minutes, is this true?
you can manually wipe the cache and dalvic cache 2 or 3 times each then factory reset a couple times then flash your rom again. What has happened is you have ssome files from the old rom and some files from the ne rom this causes the issues you are seeing. You could probably just factory reset a couple of times Cauculin? has made a special wipe becuase of these issues sometimes it doesn't format right that's why you need to do the multiple wipes to be sure it took.
Similar problem on virgin Razr
I get this each time I reboot " process com.motorola.home.other has stopped unexpectedly, Please try again. Force close. FC is my only option.
It has appeared a few other times but with no regularity. Like the OP I still have full function and use but I'm sure it is a sign of possibly other problems brewing.
From what I have read it looks as if a complete reset might be the only cure but I'm hoping to find another solution.
Q: Is "com.motorola.home.other" actually a file, or does it refer to a file that could possibly be copied back over from a backup if it is corrupt.
While writing this post this problem occurred again after closing an app, which has me even more concerned.
Many thanks

So I flash the Ics update (LPQ) last friday and all went well, my phone was working perfectly. However on sunday my phone kept freezing and the only was to get it working again was to pull the battery. So because of this i decided to go back to GB and wiped everything and flask a stock firmware (KI8) which is my carrier firmware. Now my phone keeps turns off every 10 minutes or so any it is really annoying. It only seems to happen when the phone is not plugged in to charge and I have tested it out and it doesn't tend to happen in flight mode either. At the moment I have wiped the phone completely and haven't even installed an app yet it is still happening. Has anyone got a clue what this could be as its driving me mad.
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem, i updated to ICS and now my phone reboots every 2 / 30mins.
I tryed lots of roms and now downgraded to a 2.3.3 stock rom, with re-partition, no SDcard .. but still ... it reboots itself a lot .
The strange thing is that it reboots when left alone, the sgs2 can stay up for 3h+ when it plays music on GoogleMusic ...
Oh, and i also tryed with a new samsung 2000mah battery kit, still no changes, so it's not a battery problem
I had this problem with GB 2.3.5 stock firmware. After flashing custom ICS - Lite'ning Rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274 , the problem disappeared. Of course I did full wipe of device before flashing.
Thanks, Ill try flash lightning later when i get home. As i think that it is something to do with the radio I have also tried flashing a new modem (KE7) but that did not solve the issue either. It there any app that can monitor processes so that i can look at what is happening just before it turns off.
I had this when I was using MIUI. I flashed Spikes Pure ICS yesterday and haven't noticed it since.
Strange, I had this issue on GB, and not on ICS. Try flashing some different roms, full wipes of course, and see if that helps

i did a factory reset by using the *2767*3855# command , then i went to the recovery to format data/system/cache/sdcard/emmc .
Still, no luck and getting reboots
Last night I flashed both lite'ning ron and Check rom. Did a full wipe before both and I am still getting reboots and freezes. Think Ill have to get a jig and bring it back to the shop
So just to update. The latest think i have tried is changing the modem to KE3 and I tried the speedmod kernel and the syriah kernel. Still having the freezing issue. Have also tried a kernel cleaner but to no avail. Anything else I should try before bringing it back. Thanks
Why dont you try to install a stock rom, then root it, and within CWM recovery wipe everything, then reinstall your stock rom thru odin
Have tried flashing the stock firmware 2.3.5 KI7 and wiped the cache, the dalvick cache and factory reset the phone before but that didnt work. Is there specific firmwares that will wipe everything?
Corrupt SD can sometimes also cause random reboots. Do you have an external SD on top of the included internal SD? Try formatting them both. Start fresh.

i agree with you i tried this method last year and it worked,, you should try this and if doesnt work format your phone system wipe data, wipe cache , wipe dalvik for a very fresh start..
Yes I thought it could have been the sd card to so I removed it from from the phone and formatted the internal memory, then wiped the dalvik cache, the cache and the phone and flashed a new rom but my phone started to freeze after about 20 minutes. Its weird originally my phone was Freeze and wouldnt wake from sleep, then it would just randomly reboot and now its back to freezing and not waking from sleep
I would try KH3 rom. For me that was the most stable GB rom
