Dumb question - HTC EVO 3D

I love the emulators for android as I am an old fart compared to most of you here. From the nes, genesis, snes, to the saturn. Anyway, I know as of right now wii mote does not work due to the new bluetooth updates or whatever. My question is, once we are rooted will I be able to use that or any other bluetooth controllers of my choosing? this will put a big smile on my face between that and my mhl cable I will have a mobile gaming device like no other
Thanks ahead of time for your help

anyone? bueller? bueller? bueller?

[Q] [Req] XBOX Controller App

So I was playing games on my emulators on my Vibrant and it got me thinking... what if i could use my phone on my Xbox instead of a controller? Could you make an app that you could use to play? Since you can already use wireless controllers, it'd just be about emitting the right signal from the phone and you could use the touch pad in place of buttons.
Genius I know...
Microsoft uses a proprietary wireless standard on their xbox 360 control interface.
The Xbox controller most likely used IR which no phone has. If anything you could use this phone as a PS3 controller since it uses bluetooth.
I don't always complain, but when I do, I #BlameWes
That would be nice but I also think it uses infrared.
Good idea though
Sent from my awesome Vibrant using XDA App
Here's a video of the N900 controlling the PS3 via Bluetooth. I don't think an app like this exists for Android.

The controllers work off a 2.4GHz radio signal, not IR.
ConceptVBS is right, the protocol is proprietary and unpublished. They won't even license it to other manufacturers or developers. (My wife is into robotics and on Trossen forums somebody was trying to figure out how to make this work, but there is just too much back-and-forth between the console and the controller for the initial registration.)
I suppose in theory somebody could write a driver and hijack the wifi radio -- but without the information on the protocol, you have about as much hope as using your microwave oven to control your 360.
wow this thread is old. but I was just thinking the same thing.
this thread has xbox controller enabled rom available for the Elocity A7 running android 2.2. question is, can anyone else do this for a vibrant?? I'm sure there would be quite a few ppl, including myself, willing to donate towards a product like that!
boo yeahhh! vibrant with a wireless xbox controller would be soooo siiickkkk

[Q] Anyone tried a zeemote or other game controller with gtab?

Just curious if anyone has tried one of these or how well/poorly it may work for games and such? Been fooling around with a hand full of games, but on screen controls are terrible..
Does anyone know if one of these (appears in my attempts to only be one, which claims to work only for nokia phones??) things works? Or of any game controllers I could get that would work?
Do games have to be compatible with whatever controller I would get? Are there any other bluetooth game controllers that might work? Does anyone know which if any emulators are compatible with any sort of controller?
Anyone with thoughts or ideas on the subject?
Sorry for resurrecting this old thread
I just downloaded a pretty fun arcade style game called Overkill that supposedly let's you use a game controller called a Zeemote. It says it supports Android 2.0+ but I haven't seen anything on XDA in the Android section about anyone using one of these controllers.
I'd appreciate anyone giving some reviews about it if they have it working on any android device.

Gamepad question

Hey everyone! I'd like to start out saying this is the most awsome close knit community I've seen on the web. I love all the hard work roe and the boys are doing and the group In general. Hopefully I'll be joining the ranks of owners of the best bang for the buck tablet currently on the market come Christmas day.
Now for the question. Is there/will there be a way to use a USB gamepad on this device? I'd love to get my mario on while waiting on flights. I understand we can use a keyboard for this at the moment so I'm more interested in gamepads.
Thanks for the help and merry Xmas, happy holidays, and bah humbugs for all you scrooges out ther.
No gamepads currently work through USB, except bluetooth Wii controller being an exception )but not usb so really not an exception). Be neat if there was a gamepad that used standard keyboard codes.
I have had no luck with bluetooth Wii controllers, so maybe only on Vegan rom.
I was wondering about this as well. I read somewhere they were trying to sync a PS3 controller too. i have a sweet USB Original NES controller I would love to play some NESOID with.
Got wii working on tnt 3.1. Just installed wii remote from market.
Wii mote and classic controller work - using wiimote app in the app market.. tnt lite, vegan, and cm6.1 all support it
Granted not usb controller - but I like the wireless option anyhow.. I carry the wiimote + classic controller in the case with my tab.
Wouldn't it be possible to get USB Gamepads working by adding it to the kernel?

Oh man, I'm salivating at the idea of using XBox 360 controllers on this thing!
I too would love to see some development on using a USB Gamepad with the G-Tablet as well.
I'd also love to see USB gamepad support!

Wireless Wii Retro Controller

Anyone else using their tablet for old school gaming on the go?
I ordered and received the best wireless controller you can get for the gTablet (at the moment):
http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/Wii-Wireless-Retro-Controller__EF000622.aspx
The best thing is, it connects directly to the gTablet with the Wii Controller software without the need for a separate remote (like other wireless classic controllers I found do).
Awesome, thank you for the heads up!
Thanks for the information, and link! Is there any lag while playing?
I haven't noticed any, but I didn't get to play it that much last night before passing out. I am thinking about doing a youtube video on it sometime this weekend and post it on here.

Sounds cool, thanks in advance if you do get around to a video.
Looks cool, but almost $50 total seems high..... Not sure, but if I could get BT controllers to actually work with TnT 3.13, I would consider it

Yeah, it was a little on the steep side, but seeing how an extra wiimote + classic controller would run me $60 new, I think its a good deal.
So what type of games can you play on this? Is there a good place to get emulators and what not.
I have a usb wii controller I wonder if that would work.

Most emulators are in the market. I use nesoid, snesoid and the Atari one.

[VIDEO] OnLive for Android on the HP Touchpad

yeah, you're definitely not a gamer lol
i played Dirt3 and the controls worked really well... i was impressed at the gameplay...
lego batman on the other hand (which i like the lego games btw) had troubles with moving batman... he would run/walk randomly when i just wanted him to run...
i had low expectations for onlive and it plays a lot better than i expected... i would like to try hooking up a controller to the TP and seeing how the game play differs...
it will be something to keep an eye on
Anyone tried the sixaxis tool on Touchpad with OnLive yet?
Was going to try it over the weekend, but got caught up.

I wanted to, badly. I just didn't have one available to me. I am going to buy one later this week and try it out. I'll report back with my findings.
FYI, there was a sticky thread in the onlivefans.com forums that said only the new OnLive controller will work with the Android app. I can't find it now though, so I don't know if anything has changed.
edit: found it.. http://onlivefans.com/showthread.php?14160-The-Controller-FAQ

OTG cables need external power on our Touchpads.... so probably not.
