I am using 8105 - Android 2.1
I recently rooted my phone and it went fine (well, it was rooted).
But every 1 or 2 minutes, the capacitive buttons flash 6 or 7 times and then hide for another 2 minutes....I have had an individual who claims there are threads on XDA, but I have yet to find them on how to fix this. Any help pointing me to the right area would be greatly appreciative!
Did u by any chance use the super boot method to root?
unfortunately, i cant help but im just curious, why was it necessary to post the same thing twice?
Same issue here
I have rooted with superboot and am running 2.2 - my initial image failed so I applied an image from the recovery toolkit and brought it back to life.
There seems to be some pattern to the light sequence - perhaps an awesome detector?
I'm still not sure whether it bothers me or not.
i actually ran into a similar situation with my friends streak but it didnt seem to mess anything up. i did end up looking into it and i think i found on google that it either means a bad recovery img or a bad baseband flash i think
I have tried so many guides and ROMs to no avail.
here is my issue.
I have a Galaxy SCH-I800 Verizon Tab
After unknowingly having a P1000 ROM downloaded i flashed My Tab, to no surprise it fails.
I have been trying to restore the factory Rom but everytime i boot depending on the rom selection i am using i either get,
Rom boots and i hear sound but no video is shown.
or
Rom boot loops and in the recover screen it show that it cannot mount /data or /sdcard (invalid argument)
How can i resolve this?
I was able to get video back by using a different zImage..
However i am still getting issues with it not being able to mount different areas of the system..
is this a PIT issue??
if so what one should i be using?
bump...
I still need help on this please.
I also have a VZW SCH-I800 and used CWM to "Flash a custom recovery image" with the intent on getting gingerbread on my tab. I followed the steps from the unlockr...which now my tab has CWM 3.0 and my camera doesn't work, my accelerometer doesn't respond when turning the device, my auto brightness doesn't work, and when i have new mail it doesn't show the number on the icon. (just what i have noticed so far.) Since I have CWM installed is it possible to flash a stock ROM, say from a ZIP file on the SD card? Or is it more complicated. As i said the ultimate goal was to get to Gingerbread, but I will now settle for a working stock ROM.
Help is much appreciated!
The same problem
I wante help.
I have the sch-i800 with this problem at boot, can be seen on youtube.

Already tried the possible solutions presented. As well as all the ROMs I found for this product and nothing worked. someone help me?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Has this ever been answered anywhere or fixed? I did basically the exact opposite of this. I ended up following the instructions for a gsm tablet instead of the cdma tablet that I have:
Verizon Samsung 7 inch Tab
SCH-i800
SCHi800BKV
Not sure of the original firmware. When I registered though at Samsung, it said the manuafacturing date for this was in October of 2011
So I have tried using both heimdall and oden and I can't get anything to work. I can still get into download mode. Some of the flashes allow me to get into recovery mode. Sometimes, the Samsung comes up, gets blurry/scratchy and then the screen is blank. I am pretty sure I had the exact right stuff on the last one but it went to blurry mode.
I know that I ran a .pit file on this for a different tab (gt-p1000)... Could that be why none of my flashes are working?
Please any help would be grately appreciated.
Dear Friends,
This happened 2 days ago, after a flash to install a new recovery.
Rebooted into recovery, blue/white lines running from bottom to top in a slight angle. Rebooted normally, phone woke up and all looked good but there was no response from my touch screen.
Since then I am trying to find a solution, through Google and flashing.
Nothing will bring my touch screen back to life.
After connecting a mouse with an OSD cable I can use the phone completely so I can then even connect my Bluetooth mouse,
but walking around with a Bluetooth mouse to operate my phone is awkward
It all started after the root/recovery flash, and I was not paying attention to what I was doing, wife walking around and asking me things,I had a beer or 2 to
So just now I looked in my download list (chrome) to find the file I flashed.....
and I see this file.............
cwm6-recovery-n7100-121014.tar
it could be that I have flashed that file DARN
My question is, will this destroy some hardware?.......OR....
CWM Manager says this version needs to be used with CF-CWM v1.1 or newer, I followed this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
and flashed with success, CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar
So ... I think its a software thing, I hope its a software thing..
Please ask me any logcat output, and the command to get it.
More info
I am flashing all sort of rom/boot.img's
and (full stock) roms's
recovery files, and none did help me out,
a short list of the files;
CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3
CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4
I9300XXBLFB_I9300PHNBLF1_I9300XXLFB_HOME.tar
I9300XXDLIH_I9300PHNDLI1_I9300CEDLI1_HOME.tar
I9300XXDLJ4_I9300MBCDLJ1_I9300XXDLID_HOME.tar
I need info about the root/recovery, how to get it with logcat,
I think there is the problem
Good evening all, my apologies in advance if i am asking a stupid or already answered question,
i have looked through this forum and many others along side through google and i am unable to find a solution or solved post in regards to fixing this phone.
I recently purchased a second hand s2 from ebay, not the best move but it was cheap, and i was in need of a phone.
the phone came with damaged screen, so i ordered a replacement and thought no more.
after receiving the screen i replaced it fitted it and was in the belief that the phone would be up and running, no no no this is not the case...
upon fitting the screen i found that the phone would lag as such, as if two fingers were placed on the screen, with motions being very sticky also requiring a large amount of force to respond when trying to use it. normal androids will switch between home screens effortlessly and relatively fluid.
Seeing this issue i thought a simple firmware upgrade would suffice and id have a usable phone. upon upgrading via kies i was unable to install the MTP drivers and so switched to the program odin for the update.
i downloaded what i believe to be uk firmware from samsung-updates,
firmware I9100XWMS2_I9100BULS3_I9100VODLSF_HOME
which has also caused the phone to boot in what looks to be spanish. although e3 and cwm show in english.
after the update the phone seems to be in a soft bricked state, the phone will repsond to input from soft keys, go into recovery and download mode accept all firmwares i have tried 9 times out of 10. but when reaching the android home screen is completely frozen, no response from touch or soft keys, except only for volume up and power to reset the device.
thinking the recently purchased LCD was the culprit i have sent it back and had a replacement, still the issue is present.
I have tried many different roms/kernels in the hope to solve this problem and i am at my wits end!
any help in bringing this thing back to life would be of great help as i am without a phone, or enough money to replace it again...
thanks for any response
cheers Ansell2k12
Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in the General section; in particular flashing the 3 part firmware (this will wipe your phone). Also try everything in that thread for as long as you have the patience for it. These cases tend to be fixed by perseverance, or not at all. There's no easy fix. It's either a hardware issue(s), NAND corruption, or something really obvious being missed here. If it's the latter, hopefully the stuff in Hopper's thread helps you fix it. If it's either of the other two, I'd be cutting my losses.

lcd may be the culprit but also the firmware is crashed flash it again properly after a factory reset from e3
Progress...but not as id hoped...
first off thanks to you mistahbungle & bhavstech,
unfortunately im only little further forward.
After the flash using 3 part file firmware the phone is now running in English language on an updated firmware, but still appears to be frozen/ crashed.
updates on appearance, maybe its still salvageable?
Clock now updates after reboot
English language
charge icon does not change when unplugging/replugging charger/data cable but is recognized by the PC - MTP is now installing, but requires reboot, after reboot of the PC, MTP installs again and request reboot again... and continues to do so.
clock doesn't update at home screen, again appears to be frozen/crashed
still no response to touch, touch buttons or soft keys - only phone rest volume up and power.
when phone is at samsung splash screen i get notification of voice mails/texts on the phone.
Thanks again Ansell2k12

Your issue of a semi frozen state is very familiar to me but the reasons can be many and one of those are the /sdcard partition not mounting properly and likewise it could also be a failure of the other major partitions but if the device booted and made it to the lockscreen then you may have some hope, first if you have a external card plugged try booting without it, if the issues repeat try swapping the ext card with the internal /sdcard by flashing a modified vold.fstab file for your firmware which swaps the partitions effectively making the device mount the ext card as the /sdcard partition. I am expecting you have gone through the default troubleshooting methods like a clean flash etc.

Yes i have done multiple flashes, tried another sd card as the original was unreadable by the phone but picked up the second faultlessly, although flashing a custom firmware failed when trying to load in cwm.
as for a modified vold.fstab file, this is new to me. Could i ask how its modified or where i would get the file? im guessing id use odin to flash it to the device?
thanks for the response

There are some threads in which I myself detailed about swapping memory its done via a custom recovery and not using Odin.

any chance you could point n the right direction?
i have had a look at the stuff to edit vold, and it seems i am unable to do so as my phone isnt usable once booted
cheers Ansell2k12
Phone has gone in the bin cheers guys, thanks for the help
....
You could easily flash a edited vold.fstab file by generating a flashable zip file. That's why I said via recovery or if you are clever enough you can easily use recovery flashable Aroma file manager to overwrite the file.

Greetings,
I have a Coby Kyros mid7125 that was given to me and I'm trying to restore/refurbish/upgrade it. It has some REAL problems, not the least of which is no functional OS. I have tried to install several different OS's including: ICS and JB. I am able to get them installed, and booted up. But, no matter which I use, the touchscreen is inevitably non-functional, and USB debugging is not enabled. Therefore, I am unable to do much else with it from that point.
I would like to install Gingerbread 2 . 3 . 3 which it had originally, but am unable to find a copy for this model anywhere.
I have searched MANY places online, including this forum (which has helped me Immensely! Thanks for that) but I'm just not finding what I need. Unfortunately, being as this model is so old, most of the links to what I need are no longer functional.
The tablet IS rooted, and I do have CWM installed, however the stock backup is gone, and there are no other functional backups on it.
Do you have any advice for getting the touch screen to work once it is booted into an OS, or where I could get a Custom or Stock ROM for this model??
I am fairly new to the Android universe, but do have quite a bit of experience with other OS's.
ANY help or links you could provide would be MUCH appreciated!!
Ok,....next problem:
Ok, SO........after MUCH searching, and hair pulling from my scalp,...and after not finding any answers here,....I decided to take a different approach:
I downloaded and flashed the firmware for the Coby mid8125 onto my Coby 7125 and it works just fine. Only one problem....the screen is out of alignment, which tends to create problems using the touch screen. Not a surprise considering the 8125 is an 8'' display while the 7125 is a 7'' display.
Back story: I lost the stock recovery image on the 7125 due to some "experimentation" with trying to upgrade the OS and CyanogenMod, and could not revive my 7125. Could not find any copies of the 7125 firmware or stock image anywhere. So, being as they are closely related, I flashed the 7022 firmware onto it. Worked,.....except the touch screen didn't function at all. Turns out, the touch screen on the 7022 has a Capacitive input while the 7125 has a Resistive input. So, I flashed the 8125 firmware, which also uses a Resistive input, onto the 7125 and regained functionality! (yay!!) Unfortunately, the display itself is offset by about 1/4 in. x/y, and receives the input at different positions depending on which side of the screen you're trying to use. (drag!!)
Now: At present, everything is functional, but it's a real hassle constantly turning the tablet, and tapping in different places to run the thing.
So, my plan (another experiment) is to copy the TS driver from the 8125 firmware and insert it into the 7022 firmware (which also uses a 7'' display) and hope it works.
Problem: I need to know where in the file system, on the 8125 and the 7022, to locate the driver for the touch screen???
If someone could provide me with the file path, I would be grateful, and would definitely post the findings of my "experiment" here for others to reference. I know others have had the problem of losing functionality with the touch screen, and this could turn out to be workaround, if successful.
I would like to thank the Many others here whose posts and links have, indirectly, help me in my first foray into the Android universe. Without your sharing I, for one, would have been completely lost with nothing to show, except a nice paperweight, for my trouble. So,.....Thank You ALL!!!
FIXED IT,......Mostly!!
So, it appears tenacity pays off!
Through my own persistence, research, and experimentation, (and with no help from the various forums I've visited)... I managed to come up with a clean, Stock ROM and Backup of Coby MID7125 and, using CM v6, I have flashed it onto my 7125 and have restored it to full functionality! Everything works. Only one problem remains......
The display is still out of alignment. I have tried various means of realigning it, from re-calibrating it to trying to access the POINTERCAL file to adjust it manually (which I'm still trying to access), all to no avail.
I realize this is an Old tablet, and mostly no supported by, well, anything. I am using this as an exercise in familiarizing myself with the Android system before moving on to a more Updated version and device.
I've had some failures and some victories, but I am learning a lot and making progress in leaps and bounds. Although, it seems as though I'm doing it ALL ALONE!! I get no help or even suggestions from anyone on any of the various forums I've visited, and the research is mind-numbingly tedious at best.
Still,.....this problem with the (resistive) touchscreen alignment is my last hurdle with this restoration project, and I could REALLY use some input from someone who is better acquainted with these systems.
Anyone?? Anyone at all???
