mine less then 54mb, but still works perfect

impossible install this game 73 mb? i have Plants Vs Zombies 13 mb -.-

how to free system memory to 50mb?i only have 7,9 mb free.how and what to delete to not screw the rom.just flashed kuyadroid

Ahhh ... it seems I have to remove quite a lot of applications.
there is only 30MB was able to run normally?

thx man, amazing.

@ OP, can you elaborate more on step 5 and step 6. I use chainfire 3d pro but with
no succession. Maybe that's me don't understand the 5th and 6th step.
Sorry... I'm noobz

I think it also depends on the particular ROM you are using, not all of them are stable enough for such a demanding app. For instance, I managed to get Plants vs Zombies to work on Floyo 0.25 and on several Froyobread versions, but I had lots of troubles with Kuyadroid and now with GingerDX. It seems that this method works great for Froyo ROMs, but not so much for Gingerbread ones. At least those are my impressions. If anyone has more insight into this problem, feel free to share...

I installed it and used chainfire 3d 16bit but when i started to play the game it go back the home screen any idea about it?

I think it depends a lot on the ram available. Chainfire3d 16 bit option reduces ram usage greatly so it is playable on x8. But certain roms use more ram.

I'm using floyo 1.0

Does not work. Not enough operation memory. GingerDX, 80Mb OM.
If you are the driver settings to set the minimum graphics settings, it works, but the background is separated from the game. And other troubles.
Write anyone to work, how much memory is used and what settings were set.

Here even load the game, do not know if the problem and minicm 7

Help, I too can't seem to follow on step 5-6. can you please elaborate sir.
Did you mean, use PC and put the APK file at the "Android/Android-SDK/platform-tools"
then how to install sir? sorry still learning on adb's T__T
Edited. i somehow manage to learn adb now. Hehe. May i know your perfect mhz to avoil fc on this app sir?. I always get fc. Huhu

isnt that paid games? just asking cause in PC, it is

[Q] DJS 1.7 Gameloft insufficient storage?

I've read some about this through Google but no real concrete solutions that I found. I have 1.7, and thanksvto DJS, I uninstalled volboost from my text file and reflashed. The free version works great. The paid version does the download but no, installation. I did a clean dalvik cache, cleaned a few programs, email, Internet cache lol. I have 4 gb on the sd card and 1 gb on the internal card that is free.
I keep thinking there must be a file that is installed that I can run the free but not the paid.
Any suggestion?
Also as a secondary Q. Are most users moving available programs to sdcard instead of the internal?
Thanks.
Bump......just hoping someone can help me.
Volboost
Sorry I can't be of much use re extra storage, but I was interested that you mentioned about removing the volboost hack. Does this help gameloft games? Which game on free version could you run? I am having no trouble with assassins creed, ashphalt and dungeon, but I am keen to try others like nova, modern combat or gangsters...
Thanks
Ok, I solved the problem. Since 1.7 has factory reset and I am expecting a 32gb sdcard from Kingston in the coming days, I chose this method. Asphalt, paid version this time installed and ran fine. No problem. I am assuming there was just files on the internal sdcard that kept the install from happening.
I was told from DJS, that possibly the volboost option was the culprit for gameloft games. At that time I couldn't even get the free version to install. Deleted this from the text file and reflashed. The free version finally installed and ran. Hope this helps.
If anyone has advice on moving apps2sd? I think I am going to do this as it seems logical and would save some internal spaces. I guess since they are both sdcards, its not that big of a deal, so memory (2gb vs. 32gb) would be the biggest factor.
Thanks.

Free Space

Hi
I was trying to install Plants vs Zombies (Amazon App Store Release) and i am getting an "out of space" error. Plants vs Zombies could not be viewed. Free up some space on your device and try again.
The .apk has +/- 73mb and I have more than 250mb of free internal memory on my X10 (2.1 Bitsnacker), and 100mb++ of free RAM.
Any ideas?
No one else with this problem? I've tried to turn on Wifi, etc. but nothing happens...

I had that 2 .. move the file from card /Android /data /com.amazon.venezia/cache /and the apk is about 73mb. Move to system/app / and set permissions. Rw -r -r

Still nothing, done that with Root Explorer. Can you upload to me your apk to test it?
Regards
It seems to be working. As soon as I pasted it on /system/app and rebooted the phone the game appeared on App drawer but its not occupying no space on internal memory. Is it normal?
I ended up having to copy the .apk to my computer and install using ADB instead...
Worked fine after that (though the current version of the game seems to be a bit buggy)

[Q] XPERIA MINI PRO - only has 300mb ram?!?!

hi,
i recently discovered that when i go to Settings>Applications>Running Services , it says along the bottom of the screen "130 mb used ...... 170mb free". are these figures based on the RAM of the phone? kindof unsure of whats goin on here but i just wanted to know if this was normal or not,
thanks in advance,
heh, well that's curious, my u20i had problems with apps closing because of low memory and system killing apps and services because of low memory. The last thing I want is another phone that does that, especially after sony quotes 400mb
hmm....thats wierd....
the number at the bottom of the screen on the running app page should total up to 512mb since that is the amount of ram the phone actually has....
i still have time to return it though...
from what I know, android UI runs on a java virtual machine. some significant amount of system memory will be used for running this virtual machine. This virtual machine is managed by a linux based kernel which also needs memory. I think graphics memory is also taken from the RAM. Only the remaining memory is available to java frontend, which is in our case, 305mb. so I think its normal.
Thank you for clearing that up! Much appreciatied!

You'll never run out of ram anyway. Android always closes unused programs and automatically cleans your ram. Yesterday i was playing playstation games, texting in whatsapp and had a .pdf document open (cheats for psx :>) without any problems.
Nice. What emulator were you using?
here is a reply from Sony Ericsson on facebook
facebook.com/topic.php?uid=35313373389&topic=31535
The phone has 512MB RAM but some of it is used by the pre-loaded apps and services and by the operating system. All 512MB will not be available.

[Q] Would you recommend using swap2cache??

Hello fellows, anyone is using swap2cache script to improve your SK17 perfomance. Would you recommend using it?
Thanks in advance.
Considered all that's out there about how andorid manages ram i have never really seen the point.
Android will open processes and activities for as much free ram as it has, and when you need to run something it just closes all useless activities and cached programs if necessary. Enebling swap2cache will just give your device more space to occupy with "junk" which will be sitting there eating up on battery life and performance...In my personal experience i find it to be more useful on older devices which had limited ram, 512 is enough to run most stuf out there (there's a discussion on android genral about makin 2gb which concludes that for now it's quite useless..) plus it's only adding 64mb extra...it's not going to be that big a change.
I tested it personally, and my rom (also using miui) without swap2cache usually has 400-420mb of used space before doing a system dump, with swap 2cache enabled it was always full at max...
Not to mention sdcard life.... constant swapping on it, reduces lifespan obviously.
Also it's very much slower than system memory.

Hi Guys, thanks for the info I will try for myself and report it back.
Just to clarify swap2cache works in the internal partition /cache not in /sdcard so it is supposed to be faster.
Yeah you are right it works in the system partition but you may want to take a look at swap2zram as it works in the ram itself! Faster than system memory!
hit thanks if I've helped!

LoL! my bad. I wasn't even reading right. I was automatically thinkin' it was swap2sd -.-
EDiT:
Xkernel uses ZRAM by default...
Here is my experience, apparently this extra 64 mb only make a difference when you play heavy games like Asphalt 7, N64 emulator, Nova, etc.
Because without swap2cache when I played this games with the sixaxis controller app this one always closes in the middle of the game. However with swap2cache enabled I can play this games with the sixaxis app without problem
Hope you find this information useful, if anyone is interested I'm attaching the script:
- Uncompress it and copy it in /etc/init.d/
- Set 777 permissions to script.
- reboot.

why Android virtual space crashes & how to fix it?

Does anybody know - why virtual space crashes while playing online game???* i use call of duty : mobile*| my ram is ~ 3 gb
i checked, when i normally play [without virtual] my free ram is :700+- [not accurately]
but when i play in virtual space,*my free ram is :500+- [not accurately]
i edited*LOW MEMORY KILLER*- VISIBLE APP to 0 mb, so that virtual doesnt crash... but yet, it crashes...*
i checked many popular & unpopular virtual... some crashes at loading point | some crashes at gaming period
does anybody have any theorical knowledge - how & why it happen??
ANY INFORMATION IS APPRECIATED
App's name is errleading, IMHO. Virtual Space (VS) is simply an app cloner what puts a copy of apps / games into an isolated / separated space in your device's storage memory. VS is a hacking tool.
VS can be considered as an Android emulator where you can launch apps from. VS itself eats some MBs of device's RAM ( as you noticed ~200MB ) because it's merely an app like any other Android app. COD eats ~1.5GB RAM. Thus running COD via VS takes at minimum ~1.7GB RAM.
My suggestion: Completely clear phone's recent list to ensure no apps are running in background.
BTW: Android OS ( depends on version ) takes ~500MB RAM.

As I suspected: the memory problem is homemade, you have too many apps open.
