Hi guys,
My O1 is dead. I'm gonna send it for repair but I have a question. I've rooted my device and even installed custom recovery; flashing several roms as well. When my phone went dead, it was on a stock 2.2 rom. Now for the question: Will they repair my phone for me? ^.-
Thanks
It depends, I heard ppl that had custom roms and they got their phone repaired
Just don't tell them anything and hope for good
If something inside is fried then you might not be so lucky.
Oohh... Btw I managed to flash my phone's firmware with kdz updater but when I used the official LG application to update my software, it totally screwed up. Irony, isn't it?
Lol. It's good you didn't turn it in then. They would have voided your warranty. You can only go and ask them to repair it for you when the flashing chip on the mobo is dead

But i can't turn it on now. Kdz updater can't even detect my phone

Mine was repaired, after failed on flashing a different stock ROM.
The previous working rom was the wrong official one but non-rooted
I got it back after a week with new PCB

If it shows some life signals, then you need to COMPLETELY BRICK it.
If it's completely dead, they
1) cannot find what have you done in it's software
2) they're gonna believe the story easier
3) they're gonna put a new PCB, so it's like having a new phone.
try and flash using kdz flasher use a stock 2.2 rom
press vol up + menu button and then connect the usb port to pc .
flash from kdz hope it works mine was dead too but i gt the phone back to life using the method and choose cs emergency while flashing

I see... I have another question. When I attempted to update using the official LG Updater, my phone was such in recovery halfway through the process. It was still in emergency mode but according to the Updater, I was asked to remove the battery. My phone went dead right after that. Do you know why it went dead?

Just for the record, I bricked my phone again. Sending it to the service center again zzz

Insurance will cover, AT&T store MIGHT if you say it happened when installing gingerbread update I guess.
The reason I was asking was due to the2dcour stated:
the2dcour said:
yes but you will get 0x1000 error. Don't freak out, it will let you boot in to fasboot and unlock. In fact, if you boot directly into fastboot after flash you wont even seen the 0x1000 probably. This has worked for multiple people that flashed 2.3.4 official sbf or official OTA 2.3.4 . As always, not guaranteeing anything for your specific phone.

BUT THAT APPLIED FOR A SPECIFIC PROCEDURE AFTER FLASHING BY RSD 2.3.4 WITH PUDDING SBF
IF YOU FLASHED A MOTO SBF WITHOUT PUDDING AFTER BEEN "UNLOCKED" SO THEN YES IS A HARD BRICK

Well, there are enough warnings which say not to downgrade from 2.3.4. Except the SBF with Pudding. And if you ignore those warnings, that's what you get.

Nope. No fix. Sorry
so now wht can i do............ can i claim to motorola warranty...... they can solved it............. or no 1 can solved it...........
The warranty "should' cover it.
But like everyone already said there are multiple warnings not to downgrade once using the official 2.3.4 update for this very reason. If I recall correctly it even said so in the text message I received that informed me of the update.
My Atrix has the same situation, someone find a solution?

i had install cwm, everything was fine.

and tried the rsd lite and using preinstall rsd lite file. then got the failed to boot 0x1000 no os detected. with 14 options, and nothing seem to work.
no file would work. batter wont charge even tryed to hard charge cutting charger and going strait to battery ...
IF ANYONE KNOWS A FIX.. please inform me.

IF THERE IS NO FIX , I WILL HAVE FUN SMASHING THE THING ..

You have a soft brick and can recover. I don't have time to find the links for you right now, but search for soft brick solutions.
You have a very common error with a common solution.

Hello, I was trying to SBF my Atrix AT&T when I got this message
Failed to boot 0x1000
Entering NVFlash Recovery Mode
Battery too low to flash
EDIT: I have flashed the alpha CM7 (and got no network coverage) then I tried to flash SBF (Gingerbread) but the battery was low (I didn't notice that).
I have done many searches, and want to decide what should I do now.
My questions are:
- Can I get my battery charged without buying a cardle charger ?
- Once I get into that NVFlash mode, is there any images that can be flashed to the atrix that can recover it ? If yes, please links !
I have really searched a lot and would appreciate any help also with donation.
Thanks folks...

1. You can try going to the ATT store and ask them to charge your battery or a friend who has an atrix to swap batteries, other wise you'll need an external charger.
2. No there is NVflash fix. Sorry.
Can you detail what exactly you did? Normally the hard brick is from downgrading via SBF/RSD (flashing 1.83 sbf over 2.34) but it doesn't sound like that's what you did.

Even with Motorola Factory DEV Cable? And even with "NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery" driver installed?
Heeeeere we go.
long story short I messed up, here are the symptoms(spent 2 hours scouring the internet and XDA BTW)
SVF:108:1:2
Failed To Boot 3
Entering NvFlash Recovery Mode
thats after trying to enter recovery (vol-/pwr), alternatively I recieve a "Starting RSD mode" if I try to boot normally or try to plug phone in to charge.
Also, just tried (vol+/vol-/Pwr) received "Starting Fastboot Protocol support"
battery too low to flash...this presents a problem as I am unable to plug the phone in without it coming on....
All tutorials Ive found involve failed to flash 0x1000 or something of that nature, I am not receiving that message.
It never progresses past that. If anyone could point me in the direction of a good tutorial or even the thread that Im apparently missing it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Unfortunately the process as I described it above is how it happens. I dont get to choose which "mode" it goes to. It just depends on the action/button combination. It never progresses past that.

Well i think you need to flash sbf file in rsd mode. The sbf should be on the version you had originally or higher (if you were on 2.3.4 so don't flash 2.2.2 otherwise you'll hard brick). I might be wrong so someone else should confirm me before you proceed with it.
Not to sound like a broken record...but I'm not sure that that's possible. I don't have the option to choose. Unless you ate suggesting that from the available options I listed above I make an attempt.

You say in this post that when you boot normally the phone says "Starting RSD Mode". Im talking about using this mode to flash sbf…you can search the forums on how to flash sbf in RSD mode.
Also you'll need to charge your battery some way(battery can't charge without going into OS) before you flash.

if you can get to working fastboot support you can probably recover.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501532
follow Alaq/ Uncle Cemka's method of flashing pudding via fast boot, I have recovered more than one phone this way, your going to need a way to charge your battery though, might have to buy an external battery charger, build a powered usb cable or cutup a cable and apply the + and - straight to your battery....you can search and find ways to charge your battery.
Also a little more info than just "Fail" would be helpful, did the RSD flash fail, is the phone just boot looping and going straight to RSD support or fastboot support? Error messages? it may not seem relevant but many of us have seen similar error messages and know different ways to get back to a working phone but we need more information from you to be able to help.
Also I have seen phones with the SVF:105.1:2 failed to boot error actually be accessible by RSD even when the screen did not mention RSD support was up...
You might need to strip the end of a USB cable and charge the battery directly. Another user posted instructions somewhere. I'm sure a quick google will reveal all.

Guys, I am in Canada, I have rooted unlocked Samsung Galaxy i717D that I just got replaced with one friend, I previously had LG 2x.
I am big fan of Miui room, I found " TMT_MIUI_2.0_2.8.2_Aroma" for i717 and flashed using Odin. All completed, when phone rebooted, showed a kernel error for a second, samsung logo flashed and that's all. Phone went to sleep mode.
Now phone is like dead, no power, download, recovery mode whats so over, nothing helped. I followed almost all threads of possible fix but nothing helped. Phone won't show any sign of life.
Any suggestion if there is any hope or it's just hard brick and gone?
Thanks for your help.
Where did you find an i717 version. I believe you flashed an N7000 ROM. So your phone is bricked. Pay attention to all the other "bricked" threads in this section. Only solution is to send it to someone for jtag service like mobiletechvideos.com.

if you need jtag service my friend in Vancouver does it for 50$, and he pays return shipping within Canada.
