My phone has been crapping itself every few days now for weeks.
Every app stops working, then when I restart the phone it takes forever, or several reboots, then the ROM completely reloads, and I have to reinstall all my backups and set the phone up again.
It's getting beyond a joke, it's happned across two streakdroid ROMs (1.9.0, 1.9.1) I think I'm getting a little too anal with titanium backups freeze option and autostarts... maybe, I don't know.
Anyway, it just happned again today, andnow I don't have live wallpapers.
Doesanybody have any ideas?

two words, are the giveaway: titanium backup...

So you think it's the freezing that's causing the problems?
Howdo I get my live wallpapers back?

Titanium backup doesn't play well with StreakDroid. MyBackup Pro works well with SD and has a freeze feature in it as well (the Pro version).
I've had no problems at all with titanium backup.
Mabye you're uninstalling/freezing stuff you shouldnt be. Reinstalling does nothing if you immediately repeat whatever broke it in the first place.
I've not had any issues with TBP either, but I have froze things and had goofy behavior.

I've put 026 on my phone twice now, with 2 seperate downloads (incase one was corrupt) but it always crashes apps, like timescape, the web browser, the market, even the uninstall app and many others...
Anyone else get this, or have a fix? I dont get it with 024, but would prefer to use 026 because it seems a little faster.
same thing happened to me after I stopped some of the apps from startup. that gave me about 180mb free though, but nearly all the apps were crashing, they were not force closing but simply vanishing. then I enabled everything while booting and everything was fine. so now am trying to stop one service or app one at a time to find which one of them is causing this.

Hmm i dont have any app killer installed though... but i did have one installed before flashing. But flashing would have completely removed it?
The very first time i started the phone after going to 026 i got this crashing, which happens exactly how it does with you.
nope, very first time I installed 026 everything was fine, only issue I had was when I used the app "my backup pro" to restore my messages, contacts etc, somehow my phone started sending messages again, the same ones that I already had sent in the last 4 months,I had to delete all the threads quickly or there were about 2000 messages which could have been sent.
then I started with the boot manager and disabled nearly everything, that's when vanishing of the apps started, nothing before that. but I guess its working fine now. am only disabling apps I installed, not touching anything I don't know, phone seems to be working fine.

I also experience this constant crashing of apps.

guys, try not to kill all the services, instead eliminate them one by one to find which one is crashing your phone. mine seems to be working fine now

Hi,
I just flashed Gingerbread 2.3.3 to my Eris. Everything works great until I restore my apps with Titanium Backup. After that's complete, I keep getting a Force Close on androis.process.acore Any idea what's causing this? Like I said, everything works great until I replace my old apps.
Thanks!
It seems like CM7 doesn't like Ti Backup. Some people have issues while others don't. I don't use it so that's ask the help I can give, just our quirky Eris

Just like the poster above me. It seems that TB is hit and miss when restoring apps in these CM7 roms. Generally I only use TB to delete "stock" apps that I don't want. You might be able to run logcat while trying to restore said app and see if it says anything during the force close. If you don't know how to run logcat just look for a tutorial on here to help you.

Thanks guys! I tried reflashing the ROM and reloading all my apps manualy, i.e. without Titanium Backup and it's working beautifully! I did use it for one app though because I needed all my data back with the app. As soon as the app was restored, I deleted TB. Still no issues. All is good!

if your last backup was on froyo and you were trying to go to GB then some people have reported TB issues. Many (including myself) have used TB after the initial GB flash to backup and restore without any issues.

when going from one OS version to another, don't restore data. Apps should be fine, but not app or system data; its been known to cause issues. There's even a setting in Ti that addresses this.

I have over 20 billion in chips on this game. I want to upgrade my ROM or back it up to another streak that I have. I do not want to lose my chips by restoring my phone because I worked hard to get them.
The reason why I am asking because I have had several bad experiences with this game and force closes on my defective Streak. I sent back the streak because it must have had bad wiring because it would always reboot under a heavy load. When the defective Streak would reboot it would jack up the written memory on the game and erase all of my chips. Sometimes if I lost a lot of chips and it would reboot and then when it would reload I would have the same amount of money I had before I lost it [lol that was a plus]. They must have figure that out with latest update because it does not do that anymore.
I would do a NANO Backup, but it freezes at a certain point because I have no performance fix for my Streak. Its a 351+ version. I also do not know if that would work because I think some games and apps match something to your phone because when I use Titanium Backup by restoring either the app or user data on a different device it is utter fail with tons of force closes. It also is fail on the same device; must be something to do with time stamps.
If I back up the game with Titanium Backup and then restore it with either app or data it force closes the app every time. If I unistall the app and and reinstall it it works perfect but all of my chips are gone and I have re-register as a new user. Either on my same device or a new one.
I just simply need to know if I can can back up my game with all of my chips and user data either to my existing Streak or another Streak that will work and not be an epic fail with force closes when I do a fresh restore. Or can this even be done?

A fix for Streakmod Recovery is coming. Be patient. You'll soon be able to do a proper nandroid backup.
However, until that fix comes in you might have better luck if you try using Super Manager from the Market to back up your apps.
Supermanager worked but the Video is glitchy, I dont think it connects to openfeint, and you cannot see leaderboards. The good news I get 4 billion in chips everytime I start the game. I just wish there was a full proof way to back up all of your apps without errors of any kind. And have them already associated withthe Market. I mean this is 2011 isn't it? Thank you for the tip though because it at least worked because Titanium Backup was an epic fail.

Not sure if it will help, but I use my backup pro. Restore apps first, reboot, restore data, reboot and everything works including latest status as a player. Have not tried it with your game, but you just never know what will work.......
u have 5 bilions, i have 212 bilion... i restore the game from titanum for my zenfone 2 with lollipop 5.0, the game opens and close right way, can't play. :/ World Series of Poker_ Hold'em Legend
I was hoping some one could help me with this... For some reason after flashing bamf 1.7 remix i restored my apps with TB yet for some reason most of my apps are force closing and its driving me nuts. I don't want to have to download them all again that's why I have TB I've tried to run permissions but that didn't do anything either. I'm at my wits end here...any suggestions.

I find that if you restore system data stuff starts to FC a lot... You might try wiping data for individual apps and see if that helps...
I'll try it out. But I only restore the app plus data not the system data. Can't lose my saved game on plants vs zombies. Lol.

Amazon uses DRM in their apps. If you don't reinstall amazon, then they wont work as well.
I find it's hit or miss. Ran BAMF for a while and switched to cm a while ago, I've done restore w/system data(learned the painful way not to do that), app plus data, as well as only app. Sometimes things are well and sometimes they aren't.
My latest flash I decided to manually go thru and install my apps one by one just to see if that fixed anything...so far I still get fc's on a few programs depending on HOW i use them...ie Slacker thru bt car stereo while car home is running locks up A LOT. But its alright without car home running, for the most part anyways.
Guess what I'm saying is some apps just dont play nice with certain aspects of roms that we run, but that's the risk we take right, deal with it until bugs are worked out and be one big happy camper....thats my hope anyways heh
Well most of the apps that are force closing are games. Some downloaded from the amazon app store and some not.

I had a similar issue. After playing with VDD settings and a reboot on BAMF 1.7, I had a bunch of FC's and the ROM Setup started. I also saw a UID file system error. I found and fixed errors on the SDCard and performed a restore to 1.6.3 and then went back to 1.7. Everything seemed to be working except I had continuing FC's with Pandora. So, I did a complete Factory reset and everything has been working fine since.
Checking out new ROMS is cool and all....But a pain in the ass....especially with the time it takes to set up your phone how you normally like it.
So my question is: how do yall get this out of the way as fast as possible?
Im sure some of yall crackflashers have this down to a science.
I generally use stock apps like gmail etc. so I try not to have too many apps to install. As a result, most of my data is in the cloud. If my game saves get wiped then I have the fun of replaying the games. Lately I've been using launcher 7 so not a great deal to setup with that.
Probably takes my less than 20 mins to get setup depending on what the base is. Ics settings tend to all be in the same place across rom types (cm, stock etc).

I use SMS backup & Restore for backup of SMS..
Contacts are stored in Google server ofcourse..
I am using GameOn (paid app that needs ROOT also) to save game progress..
I usually take backup (settings) of GO-SMS and Dialer-One using the app itself...
So ROM flashing and switching is always a breeze...
Titanium Backup PRO
You can do pretty much everything with it! In 10 minutes it restores apps, data and everything you want. You can also freeze apps and integrate updates in the internal memory, move apps, delete caches and lots more!

+1 on Titanium Backup..
Eases a lot on the Backup and Restore part.
There are alternatives such as MyBackup Pro.. Which done pretty much the same thing..
Albeit, Titanium Backup is a more popular solution

Yea but one thing you gotta watch with Tibu is that you cant restore system data (only apps) when switching ROMs. It will totally freeze up the system since the systems settings tend to conflict with the builds of the new ones. Ran into that prob last nite.
