got from forum moster zip file it says loaded file to sd card via cable install went fine no issues that im aware of but the noted keyboard and LED light issues which I am finding alot of on forums, but the Big M never changed I have since got D2/Dx boot logo and changed it to an Army Logo ( my son serves ) and got a new boot animation !! but no april fools white M all day long do the led issue and keyboard light issue have anything to do with it ?? still love GB and yes my phone says 2.3.3

We need website links and to confirm you have a Droid 2 Global in which you're flashing to.

It is not a Droid2 Global it is a Droid 2 and I have the correct file, and with everything working fine I know there was no install issues just the Big M did not change and animation, was just curious , but with my new boot logo and animation its all good again was just curious !! Love GB

Probably you should be posting this to the Droid 2 forum instead of the Droid 2 Global forum, then, eh?

Before update just remember restore to factory ( Swipe data & reset )
You can follow this step:
1.Your phone is running the 2.4.330 official Froyo Firmware
2.Your phone has been rooted
3.Your phone is using the Droid2/DroidX Bootstrap program
Install part 1 and then part 2 before leaving recovery!!
( I'm new user so .... I can not add a link to that rom - new gingerbread can found here: http: / / www .mydroidworld.com / forums / droid-2-global-forum / 8926-gingerbread-everyone-4-5-606-rooted-unrooted-versions.html ( remove blank)
I have just update my droid 2 global to that rom. All work great!!

FYI, Verizon has pushed Gingerbread 2.3.3 to the Droid 2 Global. My friend got his last night, and I actually got the wife's phone updated from the soak test leak. System Version 4.5.607.A956.Verizon.en.US

I was on the soak test as well... the one click root method works on 607... makes it easier than installing to files and all that....

So to be clear Verizon has released GB for everyone? Can I get it easily on the .606 System Version leak from Team Black Hat?
Thanks!

today 4.5 update is available in Turkey. i am downloading now and i gonno try it. :d

[Q] Leaked Gingerbread or Official Gingerbread from Moto/ATT

So, its mid July ...I'm sure the update for Gingerbread is coming ....but apparently ...mostly everyone has installed the leaked gingerbread...now I ask is it worth it to go back to stock to be able to download the new update if so how do I go back? What do I need to flash? This question has probably been answered but I couldnt find it...thanks.

Hello filmusikat,
I see that you're running gingerblur 4.5 on your atrix, so do i. You need to flash 4.1.8.3 official sbf and check for the gingerbread update regulary. I don't think the leaked gb roms are worth to spend time for now. They all have glitches which would effect daily usage.

Hi filmusikat!
The latest ROM has proven to be very stable:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409
The instructions are included within the thread. Not addressing the unlocking part since your signature already tells you got it.
As for being worthy, I say it is. I was in Gingerblur too, and the performance difference is big.

no glitches affecting any daily usage on me for 4.5.91. 100% functional, and 100% better than froyo.
Remains to be seen which version of GB will be the official release. The leaked versions everyone is flashing may not be the most current which will be offered up.
NOTE SHE/HE NEVER MENTION GB 4.5, actually if she/he indeed installed ota gb update.zip, with you instructions she/he will have a HARD BRICK
So first thing to find out is what actually she/he has installed

Thank you guys for the reply..I am a she btw(to the last post). I currently have kens beta gingerbread rom installed. I know my signature says otherwise..i haven't changed it. So... I guess I should not flash 1.8.3 cuz I would end up with a hard brick... so where to now from here if I wanted to test out the official ota coming soon?

I've got to say I'm very pleased... I have Gingerbread beta 4-5, hotspot enabled, webtop working perfectly via webtop-joe, Netflix - streamingly like it should. My Atrix feels like it should have come out of the box like this. I honestly don't think within the next year or two they will release another operating system better than GB and by then I'd probably be upgraded to the newest phone AT&T has... Atrix Quad core 3D with a 5" screen LOL

For the nice lady:
"If you want to confirm your status, please adb, su, and "cat /sys/firmware/fuse/ReservedOdm" or just open the file in Root Explorer. If you see something like:
10000000000010001000300004000
Then you should NOT SBF anything from Motorola"
If you want to post your ReservedOdm to look and see if you will be fine to SBF 1.83 again
Probably you are safe if you actually installed Kenth by CDW or moto-fastboot (boot.img and system.img)
But if you actually run the update.zip or any update trought the normal android recovery screen and if you saw the following legend "updating AP20 bootloader" in that case you CAN NOT flash any SBF from Motorola
I hope it help

Official 2.3.4 Update Available Now

Pete's One-Click Root Method works on the OTA. Just make sure you enable USB Debugging.
---------------
New Kernel (2.4.4): 2.6.32.9-00005-g2440aba [email protected] #2
Old Kernel (2.3.3): [email protected] #2
Build Number: 4.5.1a-dtn-150-30
---------------
The update (downloading and installing) took about 15 minutes for me. The new version is indeed 2.3.4.
----------------
Motorola has released their newest soak test today, at 12:12 EST. (atleast for me)
People living further west can expect the update to come later, Matt (@Motorola Forums) said.
Rooted phones cannot update. you must SBF to 2.3.3 stock to install the update.
I'll update this thread as more information is found.
If you get the update please remember to post at the project's forums over at Motorola.
Hey guys, I've been running the new 2.3.4 sbf since last weekend. There is a bug related to the battery reporting that I've noticed and from talking with other users here and at droid forums it doesn't seem to be an isolated problem.
Could you guys that get the soak test check and see if your battery reporting changes when you reboot the phone?? Mine can change 10-20% with each reboot.
It's not a huge deal, but something that is annoying and if we point it out before the end of the soak test maybe we can get it fixed before the official release.
Hopefully, this is just an issue with the SBF and the OTA wont have any problems, but please check because thats a bug we could miss if we aren't paying attention.
Thanks guys

Pete's one click method didn't work for you? The kernel is the exact same as the leaked SBF build, could be slightly altered to kill root with the official update. I'd grab the SBF if you want the latest kernel + 2.3.4 rooted.

I've rebooted many times with the sbf and never noticed. Now on Eclipse 1.0 and haven't noticed either. When I come out of cwm and reboot my battery reads wrong...a couple reboots fixes it.
EDIT: Just rebooted and it's reading 10% higher than b4. First time I noticed it.

So what is the verdict on being able to root the ota version? Did it get patched or is rooting with Pete one click doable?

I've found it does it more when you wear down the battery some, it reliably does it for me after going from a full charge down to around 70%. After reboot it will jump back up to 80-90%.
Anyways, its just something to look for when doing the soak test. It'd be great if the OTA didn't have this issue.

That's actually your build number, which is fine. You need to look at your system version. It should be something like 6.11.744.XT910 or something along those lines.
Check that and report back.

you don't have an update yet.
The recent update for the XT910 was only for the 651.73.15, .16, .17, .18 versions.
It looks like Bulgaria is not on the list, and it might be because of the language on the phone.
The update was recent, December 31st, so you may see it being sent OTA soon, but for now, it looks like you're up to date.
Thanks. So for now I cant put any roms ?

No, you should be able to still put ROM's on there.
Just to make sure, you're rooted, right??
I believe there are no fastboot files yet for the .19 version, at least that's what I was reading, so instead of just straight loading a ROM on top of this, I would go the safestrap route. This will allow you to load a secondary ROM and access both.
My understanding is while the .18 & .19 versions are different, they're not so different it will block you from loading a ROM.
It should be the same process as ever, root, safestrap, then enable safestrap mode, and flash the ROM.
If you get an error, report back and let me know what it is, and I MIGHT be able to help you through it.

better performance and battery is now usable for 2 whole days with wifi on...

[Q] XT910, Too "shy" to flash

Hi,
So two days ago I bought a razr, and It only took me 1 hour or 2 to softbrick it.
Anyway I can't do anything with it and so, I bought a new one.
(I'm selling the other one because I know with RSD Lite you can get it back on track but my win7 x86 hates RSD Lite and I don't want to mess up the phone even more).
So I'm very careful with the new one, and I was wondering, as it seemed unclear, what/which rom/kernel could I flash, that is (GB or ICS) stable and if possible, deodexed.
The phone is currently running 651.73.240.XT910.Rogers.en.CA , the android version is 2.3.5 , Baseband U_1C.76.03P , Ap flex version GAS_NA_SPYDERROGERS_P037 and A013.
In the about phone there is an update available for 651.167.3331 but I'm doing it atm because I don't want to go somewhere I would'nt be able to flash some roms or whatsoever !
So thanks in advance for your help,
Zyryck.
My first thought (and probably that of most others) is wait for ICS. Its literally a few days away. And as soon as its out, we will have custom roms by the bucket load. I am/was in the boat and currently running rooted stock 2.3.6 waiting patiently
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
You mean stock ICS will be available in a few days ?
If yes then I'll of course wait
(I mean, I'll be able to update it through about phone with rogers firmware?)
There are rumours of 12 june for ICS. I'd wait till that comes and goes. If no sign of update then ask the question again

Razr V (XT885) Custom recovery BMM

Hey guys I have a Razr V and I know there is basically no support for it on here but having a look around I managed to install Boot Menu Manager (BMM) recovery on it and it seams to be working fine.
Foolishly I tried to flash a CM10.1 ROM on it that is hardcoded to only work on Safestrap ROM slot 1. I can still access the recovery though and I was wondering if someone can point me to a ROM they may work with this phone (its stuck on ICS kernel and I'm not sure if there is a JB kernel I could flash)
This is good progress for us guys with this phone, I think its available in Canada, China and Australia. Anyway I'm trying to get a custo ROM on here and was wondering if some of you guys might be able to help me out.
Would I be able to flash a JB kernel for the XT910? The phones are very similar, but I don't want to try it if it will certainly brick my phone.
EDIT: at the moment my phone is boot looping on the CM10 screen so it is good news we may be close to getting a custom ROM on here, or maybe I'm just an idiot and have ruined my phone
Cheers

What were the problems with the rom you installed. Also to port roms you need a base like cm10 otherwise its pointless. Every custom rom not based on stock is cyanogen based. All roms like miui, pac, etc are all based on cyanogen. So if we can get a cyanogen mod built rom to boot on our phone we can then start modifying it get all the broken things to work once we have done that we can then create a devtree then compile our roms from source. Its a bit backwards but way quicker than starting from nothing.
The soft buttons was an easy fix but the other problems where the SD card wouldn't mount properly. (File manager and storage recognised it but the phone said it was damaged) and the camera force closed.

Hey, I too have a RAZR V, and I live in Canada. For MONTHS I've been waiting for JB, anything higher than 4.0.4, but Motorola is taking their sweet ass time with it.
I'm not very tech savvy, so I was wondering if you could post a tutorial, or a walkthrough of how you flashed CM10 onto your phone?
I can provide any information you might need, please let me know
I managed to get it to boot once but other attempts have been unsuccesfull. I sent RAZR V device info to whirleyes the developer of BMM and hopefully he can improve compatibility.
At the moment the only thing working properly is flashing zips. I've soft bricked my phone several times this week and I'm about to go on vacation for a month so i might try out again when I get back.
In guess the good thing about a locked boot loader is that it is almost impossible to fully brick
At the moment its trial and error sorry, I'm not sure how I got it to boot the first time and also camera and SD card didn't work.

And also clearly the update file is named in English having the abbreviation "en" in the name of the file. Do you guys feel its safe to flash

In Australia they started rolling out the JB update over a week ago but I'm still yet to receive it
I might just sit tight til I get JB on here then muck around with it again.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering it it's possible to install the Motorola RAZR/RAZR MAXX (GSM) CyanogenMod 10.1 on my Motorola RAZR V X885?
I checked that both devices have the same specs.
The version that I want to try to install is the RC5. I would post the link, but, "ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages". hahaha
Do u think I will get some trouble with this?
Thanks!

I was thinking exactly about doing the same thing, but I'm concern about using a ICS kernel with a JB rom. We should first try to flash a JB kernel. But I'm a bit loss with SafeStrap. Has anyone been able to boot something else in Slot 2+ ? I've tried to copy my existing system over these slot and it doesn't work. But I guess it has something to do with the kExec thing.
You can't do so. Your bootloader only allows you to install the system with the same signature. It won't pass the signature check to boot unless you backup and wipe mmcblk1p16(cid)

I found how to update RAZR V XT885 to Jelly Bean
There's a post in "droidevelopers" that show how to update XT885. Try to look for "14904-how-install-jellybean-4-1-2-your-droid-razr-v-xt885" in the website.
