apps on sd card - Motorola Droid X2

OK, naturally Im frustrated with the x2's performance, crashes, reboots, hang ups...etc so i've retored factory defaults several times.
Naturally android does not restore my apps like its supposed to. So I noticed my sd card is full and was wondering if it was full because all the apps I had once "saved to sd card" are still lingering there.
Are they still there? Where on the sd card are they saved? I'd like to try to purge out the old ****.

You Could Just Format The SD Card. That's Fastest And Easiest Way To Clean. I'm Not Really Sure What You're Asking.
Other Thought Would Be Get Root Explorer Or Some Other Manager That Allows To Explore Everywhere.

I think the apps you transfer to the sd card go into the android_secure folder, but I maybe wrong...

[Q] Apps and SD Card

ok. I hope this isnt too much of a newb question...
I have looked all over to see if I could find any problems with people getting apps off of their SD card. I found a few topics and reviewed them, but I have had little luck. Most of those threads also involve root problems whereas my Evo 3d is still stock (updated to 2.3.4).
The main problem Im having (aside from linpak and various other benchmarks being dramatically reduced) is that I can not get the apps off of my SD card to show on the phone.
I performed a factory reset on the phone prior to the update as I've read several times that it is the preferred method of updating since it wipes the Dalvik (sp?) cache or whatever. I guess if you just update without wiping, it clogs up the cache or something to that effect.
Anyhow, I moved all the apps to SD. I did the wipe, then I did the OTA. Once the OTA was complete it would not recognize my apps at all. They DO NOT show up under app management as being on the SD. It is blank. It does however still show my music and pictures.
Since I swapped my 8 GeeBee card with a 16 I figured perhaps the card was corrupted somehow. So, I took my OEM Sandisk 8gb card and put that in and it wont transfer the apps that were on that either.
Ive tried to restart. Nothing. Ive unmounted the SD card, restarted without a card. Shut down. Put card back in, mounted. Still nothing .
Any help guys...and again, sorry if this is a newb question.
Use any third party apps? I believe the system installer doesn't check external storage. Try Astro free and you should be ok. Let me know what you run into

Ooh and most benchmarks for this phone are inaccurate due to its resolution. They may have updated to account for this but that's what I've heard as of late.
It's a 1.2 factory dual core so why of super Oct'd phones and tablets you should reign supreme.

I have a couple apps from Amazon but not many. so when I used astro I tried to find the apps and couldn't find any. Normally on my PC they are listed under Android secure...when I pull that up with astro it says directory empty..but they do show up when I have the card in my laptop...
Also, when I switched my sd out before all I had to do was copy the files and pop it in the phone. They showed up right away. Not sure why phone won't recognize them now.

Tries an adb push?

They shouldn't be in secure yet I'd they're typically ibstalld

Yeah. I'm not sure what the deal is. I just ended up wupping the sd card and starting over. I have a spare sd I moved all my pics and such to so I'm not too worried about it.

Possible Lag Cause with a side ?

Something weird happened yesterday... I'm assuming I hit my phone while it was in my pocket (I work a labor driven job) and I'd imagine I did it very hard if this was a cause.
But I had the notice 'SD card unexpectedly disconnected please unmount before removing' or whatever the notice is... Well any and all apps I had on my SD card show up as present on it but are not recognized; they show up as follows "com.[file name].android" or whatever its root name is I'm assuming... these file names show up in task manager and titanium backup as being on my SD card yet in storage it says my entire SD cards space is free.
Please educate me; does this mean they are on my SD card still or not?
Whats just as weird is that I started re-downloading some of the apps that (were or are) stored on my SD card and it says "This app will replace an existing application on the devise. Do you want to continue?"
Any ideas on what happened?
Here's the side question done what related: I had been experiencing lag if I went awhile with out clearing cache and/or killing apps/ clearing memory that were running in the background that had been stored on the SD card... Could these running in the background which I'm using requires constant communication with the SD card be the cause of the lag? In other words is it better to keep all apps on internal space if I want a snappier/ fluid experience?

Take your SD out of the phone and stick it in your computer. If it shows up and everything is still on it then you know it's not the SD, but the phone. If it's not showing up on your computer, well.. then it's the SD card that's busted.
Cross your fingers that it's not the phone.

[Q] Rooted Nook-apps on SD Card

When I moved some apps to the SD card and rebooted the apps completely disappeared, unlike my phone where they just take a split second longer to access because of the searching of the SD card...any reason? Or is it a formatting issue with my SD card?
No, I've seen this issue too, and there have been other threads about it. I think it must have to do with same part of Android that B&N removed.

Thanks...I must have missed it. I don't see any lag with multiple apps on the tablet (instead of SD card) anyway.
On the Nook COLOR, my apps that were on the SD card disappeared when I installed ICS. I thought it had to do with ICS and reverted back to CM7.
Well, after reinstalling CM7, the apps on my SD card never appeared. So, on a whim, I ran DizzyDen's IMEI generator. Voila! My SD apps appeared.
Not sure what the problem was, only that my SD apps reappeared and left me a happy camper. Not sure if the IMEI generator will work with the tablet, but just wanted to share that it solved my missing SD apps on the Color.

Games SD data moving

Hi guys I'm getting a bigger SD card and I was wondering if it was possible to move my game SD data to the microsd card saving space on the the internal memory any ideas on how to do it

I'm wondering about this too.. don't have the data allowance to really download any new data... and just effed up the Dead Space data.
I was just cleaning up my phone files and sd card files, kept all the android>data>.com.ea.deaspace etc files intact (as well as all the other). I may have moved them to the phone storage in the process. Then half my apps lost their icons and showed a greyed out icon saying "sd" in the corner. And trying to load them resulted in a message like "app not installed".
So now I have put the data on both the phone and sd card, re-installed Dead Space from the market, but all it wants to do is re download the data.. So frustrating .
Any ideas anyone ? .
In your case though, should be as simple as copying the entire sd card from one to the other. And if the bigger card with the copies doesn't work, you'll still have the original to fall back on till you can figure out a work around.

ext_sd or sd card

How do I make sure when I move apps to my sd card, they dont go to my internal sd folder (ext_sd)
I do have a external sd card, but even-though I'm moving apps to my sd card, it seems to be empty

That behavior is by design and won't be easy to change it. If you root your phone and add some mods to it, you could store app on your external sd, but I think it's more work than what you get in return because you won't be filling up your internal sd before other things start to break. I am assuming you are storing everything else (i.e. music and photo files) on the external card, though.
thank you for clearing that out for me...
well , seems htc is not the phone I thought it was...
