Hi all, first of all im new here and wanted help on that ROM, i tried a few already and that one is a great one, first i wanna congratulate Wolf by his job, is for sure a hard one but...
After reading tons of solutions in Wolfs thread, and even in other threads, tried other tweaks and "cheats", i still need a "right" answer.
My battery drains too fast, even more than stock 2.1, i tried everything that were said in Wolfs post as i said above, and still the same...
Some even say that doesnt matter the brightness of the screen in this ROM its almost no diference but even at less than 25% my batery goes down around 20% a hour.... yeah if im looking at my xperia, and after some minutes check it again the batery was drained 2-3% and just by leaving it on the table...
i guess something is wrong with it, something i did ofc, since everyone is enjoying new batery life, im loving the ROM just need to be sure how to fix my batery if thats done everything is alright for me and can wait for new Wolf ROMs, or even the ones with new Kernel, without changing this one, cause its really great
so if someone that faced the same problem as me, plz can do me a detailed step-by-step "guide" how to fix it i would really apreciate it.
p.s: yeah u can ask me to re-flash the ROM, but maybe is the 10th time i've made it i really saw 2.1 rom and 2.2 wolf's one changing a lot of times in this last week lol but if u have a solution and need to do it again here i go
p.s.2: wireless always off or almost, only turn it on once in awhile at home to download some apps from market but is very rare, GPS always off, have no car and dont use it in any other kind of apps BT also off ...humm i guess i have everything as they should be but the phone likes to drain my battery
Many thanks, and hope u guys can help me
Best regards from a Portuguese friend
Tigo
I did experience the same issue at first with wolfbreak's CM 6.1.3, but the battery drain seems to be fixed after some updates. Have you applied the latest update v054?
-- Edit --
You might want to try to calibrate your battery by draining it until the phone is forced to shut down by itself and fully charge it several times. I noticed my phone hanged on at 1% for quite awhile before it shut down during the draining process.. lol
I'm not entirely sure if it's healthy to drain the battery this way. I know it's not when you drain it completely but it seems there's a safeguard built in to tell the phone to shut down when the battery level is critical (since my phone wouldn't just cut right off after I drain the battery, it shuts down like how it would be done manually..)
my two cents

Hmmm... strange. I just checked, none of those files exist on my CM6.1.3 v054.
Try it. I learnt this from a xda thread. I can't find it right now.
1. Drain your battery by itself.
2. Keep your X10 switch on and charge, until battery is fully.
3. Disconnect from charge.
4. Turn off X10
5. Connect to charge again, until battery is full again.
6. Turn on X10 and enter Xrecovery--advanced xxxx--wipe battery satats.
7. reboot.
BTW, do u use any battery widgets? Try to get rid of them(it). They always drain your battery. CM- ROM can show the exact battery number by battery icon in Status Bar.

lol! Then those files surely did not come with CM 6.1.3 by default.
One thing that's weird about the battery usage is that the % of "display screen" is always off the chart (>50%)... I just assume that's the power management issue which will be fixed in GingerBread.

My mistake for jumping to the conclusion there..
Maybe it's just my phone but after a day of use, display screen usually takes up 75% and other stuffs would only have less than 5-10% lolol (Note that's not after watching a whole movie just normal browsing, calls, texting..etc). It's quite an obvious change from what I observed where the battery usage distributions are quite even over different sources with 2.1 stock rom.
ty all for ur help, i'll try that today and see if it works, just one more question
would it be good if i re-flash the phone again "while"-"after" doing that process?
something like after my batery is drained get it full charged... blablabla... flash the phone to 2.1.... blabla get back to Wolfs ROM and then do the same step when batery is drained again? in my point of view that would be good wouldn it?

Hi guys i really need someones help to explain something to me. I not even had a galaxy s2 for a month and i have been noticing problems with it. I flashed different custom roms because i heard having a custom rom is more battery friendly and makes the phone go a lot faster than having the stock rom in. So i went ahead and flashed a custom rom but i have been having problems with the battery. Fully charge it and within minutes of using wifi and browsing in the browser the battery starts being drained like crazy. Anyways i called the place were i got it from and i have send it in to them for an exchange. They said to me they will have to test it first to see were the fault is before they do the exchange. I have to say here that i flashed back to stock rom with the latest firmware using Kies. Anyways they had it for a few days fully charged it and they say that they can not find a fault and they are sending me the handset back. I have to admit being on stock rom the battery does last longer.
Anyways what can i do next and were is it that im going wrong and is it worth sending it to Samsung directly once i get my handset back?
Does it take few days for the battery to settle and get the proper use out of it even with a custom rom or shall i just stick with the stock and just root and use my phone as normal because other than the drainage there is nothing else wrong with it.
Thank you in advance...

hey thanks again JJEGAN for replying but why does everyone suggest to go to custom rom then? and i have display on lowest and i hardly have widgets so why on custom rom my battery gets sucked like crazy? do you think its worth staying on stock rom and just root the handset?
Thanks
ps when you say wipe the battery stats i did do that and charged the battery and still the same so were do i go wrong? could it be the custom roms that i have been using and not let the battery have a few days cycle to adjust to the new rom
Why do you want to root it? The phone is a beast on stock. Save yourself a load of hassle and get timely OS updates by staying stock. Root in a years time when the phone gets old and isn't supported anymore.

Read the battery drain posts stop your apps from draining the battery .
Overnight sleep test with GPS Bluetooth and WiFi off on a fully charged battery target 2% drain per twelve hours . Better Battery stats set to show Wakelocks .
me today checked 2.5 days usage admittedly light use = 54% drain

hey,
I've a problem: When the battery of my X10 is under 20%, the phone shuts down automatically. When I start the phone again, it works till the next shut down. (this can take 5 minutes or 2 hours. Its different)
When I use the phone without turning it in standby, I can use it till the battery complete empty.
Is anything defect, or is it normal?
rom: WB V6 on stock kernel, but with stock rom, it was the same.
sorry for my language, I'm from germany
greeting, Tobi
Have u used battery monitor widget to get that it always shutting down at 20% , mine does it at 40% . Mines fine if im using it but if its in standby . . . Shutdown ... I then switch it on and says I got 20-35 battery and phone charges very fast back up to 100 . I think my battery is buggered which is what I think is wrong with yours. I could recommending a temp fix of freezing it battery overnight then charging for like 8 hours . Sometimes helps ..

Hi mate
I don't know what you mean by accu(I understand you meant battery level?) It sounds like one of the old kernels they were making, are you sure you are on stock kernel?
You could try flashing another rom on a ftf file with flashtool.. but try to charge phone when its off.let me know.

yes I mean battery level. I've only flashed wb roms. Bevore, I only used stock se rom, so I must have the stock kernel. In settings is written: 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 SEMCU .........
Do you mean only charge when phone is off could be the solution? I will try it...

yes I used a widget, so I saw the battery level. 20% was an example, I remember I had the problem between 20% and 30%, too! But the most time its when battery is under 20%
What do you mean with temp fix of freezing it?
I think I had the problem since I've the phone. So you think my battery is defect?
So you also had this Problem with the SE rom? If not, try to wipe the battery stats with xrecovery before flashing a new rom
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I definitely heard this issue on old roms so make sure you flash the latest patches updates for that rom and follow well the installation procedure(factory reset, wiping cache, dalvik, bat stats)
If after charging the phone (offline) it does not charge, try to flash a ftf firmware with flashtool.
I have this too on all Roms but it starts at 35 and keeps doing it until 0, bad calibrated battery i think. Had this on 2.1 once and it was gone without me doing anything, weird Battery.

can we use a working/optimized batterystats.bin to fix this problem?
as the topic says.
Yes I had the problem with stock SE rom too.
I already tried battery stats with xrec, but same problem.
I've also the newest updates for my rom ( wolf v6). Do you think I should try it with another kernel? Now I have stock.
Or I flash my rom & kernel again..
and can someone say me how to calibrate my battery correctly?
thanks
Same thing here with stock kernel...now i'm th kernel and team rom and it's ok

I still have the problem..
I remember I flashed zuzu's kernel for root. Is this the problem?

Hope it will go with other kernel..

try using TH kernel its smooth and has excellent battery life !!

problem solved!
I first tried to flash doomkernel + wolf6... still had the problem.
Then I flashed TH Kernel + Rom and let my phone go off, because of empty battery.
Since I did this, I dont have the problem!
thanks for help!
btw: The problem was not solved with the new rom..
1 week ago, I bought a new battery and now my phone doesn't shut down all the time
-> my battery is defect
I am currently in discussion with 3 UK and they have informed me that the fault is because of a faulty glue joint, which they claim is my fault for dropping the handset. I am wondered how many people are actually having this issue, and what network you are on?

Hello,
The problem seems to be calibration of the battery with the phone software.
After you root and install CWM, you can wipe battery stats. Doing that will erase all information of battery from the software and information will be made again as the cell discharges.
Other option is to root and get an application for battery calibration from the market. It also does the same thing as cwm.
Thanks,
Rick

i had 10% 'miscalibration', when charged to 100% and unplugged percents dropped suddenly in couple of minutes to 90%, and when battery was almost empty at 1% i could use phone for a good time playing 3dgames (just like it was 10% not 1%).
so when next time phone was about 50% battery i started cwm and wiped battery stats and then used it normally to full discharge and then full charge and now i have perfectly calibrated battery. when indicator says 1% i know it will be shutting down in a couple of minutes and when i have charged it to 100% it remains at 100% even for an hour if i leave phone in idle.
I got similar problem. I havent root before so i just make few fully charge and discharge and havent problem anymore. Just also try keep it loger on charger (even when you get 100%) i thing is realy dont need for most of this problem software tweak if you havent some defect mobile.

But the user just a floor down the quoted comment says it worked?
If not batterystats.bin, then there has to be some file from where the Android OS takes reference of to display the battery percentage? Or there's another possibility that the OS builds the percentage at real time, each time checking how much juice is left. Or is it something else? .
And this is a very common issue, as far as I know. How to get rid of it then? If wiping battery stats from CWM is not supposed to help?
Thanks,
Rick

Check your battery consumption, does your phone enter sleep mode or awake most of the time?
Any apps running itself on the background that maybe draining your juice, or maybe your 3G/Wifi/Bluetooth settings.
Its not about apps I thnk bro. Its a problem in the android OS Itself. That's why im looking forward to install a custom Rom. But I don't know a single little thing about how to install a custom Rom.

Have you tried battery calibrator included in v6 supercharger forum? Try to check it out though havent use it myself since I dont have problem with regards to battery. Also try to install/search battery drain app fr the market. You can monitor percentage drop per hour on ur phne using that. Mine had around 1.5-2% per hr on normal use and 0.5-0.8% on deep sleep mode. Average life of our battery is around 1.5day at normal and can reach 4days atleast when on idle(no activity). Readings fr here are taken not from airplane mode+stock rom and customized kernel.

For this kind of problems i recommand to you to:
- charge your battery until it's 100% fully charged
- remove the battery and wait its 100% charged
- then reboot in CWM and wipe battery stats and reboot, and unplug the phone.
its is depend on ure KErnel
.no need to wipe batterystats...i hAve facing more worst bttry clbrtion prob for a month..batterystats dun do anything with ur battery or else..its just a stat that tell u what app has eat ur batt juice..wiping batterystats can't calibrate ur batt..trust me..ur phone will calibrated itself
..
1.use u phone normally..
2.fully drain the battery until it shut itself..turning on back until it cannot be switch on..(completly drain)
3.open ur phone back rear cover.plug in ur charger..i recommend charge ur phone without turning it on(offline chrging).just wait until it fully charge.(green)
4.turn on ur phone..use it normally..if the prob still stick..do it again.
give me an updAte..and i give u another method..just keep in mind.android calibrate the battery itself..its been 2 month finding this solid fix and cause..i have more worst prob..u cAn check out my post..

I was using Canvas 4 Rom ported to our device, I had the same problem. My battery back up till 30% is pretty good, but when it reaches 30% in 5 minutes it drains to 15%. I thought the problem is with that Rom. So I flashed the p.18 stock Rom. But the same problem persist.
Is anyone less having the same problem? If so then what is the solution for this problem? Kindly help me regarding this.

No bro.. I used SGalaxy CHD 3.2 and Jellyxperia 4 . Now using MIUI by JavaJohn ... I didnot see these issues in following roms. If this issue with kernel then it should replicate these issues in above roms also.
Correct me IF i am wrong?
Oh! that's pretty sad. Can you post the kernel version of Miui?

no problem with rom or kernel... problem is battery not calibrating after flashing rom... i tried all battery calibration apps nothing is working..
THE PROBLEM IS BATTERY NOT FULL CHARGED, IF YOU WANT TO CHECK THAT JUST CHARGE FROM 0% YOU CAN SEE 60-70% TAKING MORE TIME, AFTERTHAT IT WILL TAKE 10-15MINS TO FULL CHARGE
Battery is getting full charged but it was only 50 cent through...... And in 10 min was 100percent
having the same problem
I have the same problem
Discharge from 30% to 15% in 10 mins and charging from 80% to 100% in 10 mins..
I have tried many custom ROMs and Stock ROMs with no luck
I have also tried calibrating multiple ways like calibrating when at 100% and discharge and tried calibrating from 35% and discharge..
No luck yet..
Anyone has better options to try
Thanks in advance
It's just a software bug, when the phone show's you 100% it's not fully charged yet, but it says so.
Just leave it connected to the charger for another 30mins, then it'll actually be fully charged and you also won't encounter the 30-15% drop.
On a sidenote, enabling forced gpu renderering in developer options increased my screen on time from 6 to 7 hours per charge. Why? No idea...
Battery probs
I too had that issue but after getting into miui by java john all was set i didn encountered that prob in the latest update 3.12.9
