I was wondering can i do a factory reset on my atrix on 2.3.4 update, i am rooted and have unlocked BL. but i downloaded a theme and i don't know how to get it off, so can you help? if anything i can do a factory but really don't want too
factory reset won't reset your theme, it will just clear out your data. you need to install a default theme, like noattach's 1% mod theme, or one of the uninstallers on some of the themes in the theme forum (like the one in the tangerine thread).
thank you so much!!!!!
i have other problems tooo.... my dialer is missing and files
going to try uninstaller then repost
Worked!! but still no files access. np just download astro or something.
plus swype is still messed up but thats fine i'll figure something out thanks

Ok, was using my odex uvjl4 froyo with oclf and was working great then. My 3g service totaly stopped working. Even the icon was gone.tried rebooting.messing with settings nothing worked. So I decided to try a hard reset.very bad move on my part. Boots up fine and the 3g issue is now fixed but now the android market place is totaly gone from my vibrant. Tried redownloading it and installing it.but depending on which version I try to install.it fails to install or after getting it to install. It force closing right away, when I click on the market. Fck
trying to fix this issue by installing Rom Manager but cant get that downloaded since the market is gone. Omg im lost. How can I fix this issue? I about to loose my mind. Would like to go back to stock or get this rom working right again.Im scared to try odin because my last vibrant got totaly bricked when trying to go back to 2.1 stock. Anyone please help me asap! Thank you!
update fixed!
I'm assuming you have some form of a backup of your apps and other data, no? If not, use Titanium backup to make one, then simply reflash your ROM, that should fix everything.
And if you want to ODIN, which is suggested as it can wipe any unused or "ghost" files from past ROM installations, follow this link:
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/09/how-to-restore-or-recover-your-samsung-vibrant/
this is my savior multiple times over, DO NOT CHECK REPARTITION IN ODIN.
Also, it may be you have a bad download of your ROM.zip, just re-download that, too.
Just got through Pudding, Fruit Cake 4.5.91 (+ webtop addon), and CWM Root For Any ROM. 4.5.91 is AWESOME and I am having tons of fun, but I don't want my buzz to get killed so PLEASE help me with the following:
Every time I try to install any app (via adb install, market, or .apk from external sd using stock Files), right as the phone gets to "installing...", the phone does a quasi-reboot. It goes to the Red M (without specifying "Unlocked" in the white text as it normally would), and then through the stock ATT boot animation in under 5 seconds and then back to the lockscreen. This is about 1/3 to 1/2 the time of a normal boot process for me. Because I can't install any apps (market, or non), I am without titanium backup to get all my apps back.
I do have non-market apps checked under Applications, as well as USB debugging enabled for the attempts at adb pushing.
I could really use some help here, guys. Unfortunately, I have no way of telling if the problem is with Fruit Cake(s) or the CWM Root for Any Rom. Here are the links to each:

Maybe re-do some of the steps if it's not too much of a hassle.
wipe/data& cache and then re-flash fruit cake 4.5.91. Then before rooting, see if you can install anything?

Wipe Dalvik, cache, and factory reset, then flash root again, then wipe Dalvik and reboot. Have had to do it a couple of times now as I have flashed 2.3.4 three times already.
This is the proven fix from KP's 2.3.4 thread for this issue.

Thanks to both of you guys for the good advice. I tried CaelanT's first to no avail, and am about to try mysticdrew's then a combo of both. I trust that some variation of the two will work and I thank you both so much for your time spent to help me out. Enjoy the slight boost in your Thanks meters!

Hey guys,
I've seen some people asking for numbered battery mods for stock or StreakDroid4 2.5.0 ROMs so I put together a simple theme (thanks to UOT Kitchen) and wanted to share it with anyone who is interested.
The theme simply changes the look of status bar and the icons, battery, system menus, adds new Roboto font ( from ICS), ICS window animations and Blue Android boot animation. Also, due to Raven 2 kindly allowing us use some files from his theme, you will now get ICS-like Phone, Contacts, Gallery and Calendar apk. I'm attaching some screenshots so you can get a visual idea.
I'm running on StreakDroid4 2.5.0 but it may also work on the deodexed or stock 408 ROM.
As usual, I do not take any responsibility for any issues that the process may cause - proceed with caution
To install:
1.Download the zip file below
2. Flash via CWM
Big thanks to TheManii for his ROM and Raven 2 for letting us use his files in this theme.
Just in case you were wondering, the screen lock on the first image is Widgetlocker which isn't free, but you can download MagicLocker or MiLocker that have similar look for free. The launchers I used in the shots (just to show different looks) are Go Launcher EX (with ICS theme) and Espier Launcher both are free too. Also shown and used is another free app - Widgetsoid.

Thanks!

Your language is fine, no worries. Thanks for letting us use your files. I'm going to update the OP and attach the new theme file.
I'll try it out on my deoxed 408 and see how it goes. I just put TeamDRH ICS on my Viewsonic GTab (no thanks to Viewsonic - you suck) and would like a consistent interface across devices
Cool, let me know how it works/looks. It isn't the actual ICS UI but the color scheme and other mods at least remind you of one
It works great! I flashed with CWM, cleared cache & delvik, and fixed permissions for good measure. I especially like the battery icon. Now to find a way to port ICS over to this and we will be set. Maybe our new Korean friends are working on that?

Nice, glad to hear that. Yes, I agree about ICS port or a new ROM from our Korean friends would be great. I think one of their main contributors Kukjin11 is going to upload his ROM in a couple of days, so we will see from there

hey guys iam having the 408 olleh gb running on my phone with ravens theam on top of it..
can i upgrade it to ics them here.. if yes do i have to rename the file that has been given here....
if possible can some one please write the steps since iam very new to this stuff...
thanks alot guys..
hey crainz,
Do you have CWM installed? Are you on deodexed stock 408 ROM created by TheManii? The theme was based on deodexed ROM files from StreakDroid4 2.5.0 (which I use) and I believe it works on the deodexed 408 stock - both of which put together by TheManii. I don't know for sure if it works with a normal odexed ROM - so let's hear from TheManii or anyone else who can verify.
If you have CWM installed, you can easily flash files, like the StreakDroid4 2.5.0 which is basically stock with tweaks and debranded (so no Olleh stuff) and then flash my theme. I recommend you install Titanium backup and back up your apps and data so when you install a new ROM you can restore (or import) you saved data like passwords, shortcuts, game levels, and so on.
Edit: Here's the XDA Wiki page that TheManii created which has the links to SD4 2.5.0 and CWM Recovery downloads:

If you have CWM installed then you can go ahead and install StreakDroid4 2.5.0. However, you would need to do a factory reset first so back your data up using Titanium Backup (this is a free version) and then you can restore all your apps and data once you flashed SD4. After that just flash ICStock theme and you're good to go.
Thank a lot for the information streak4m3
Just 2 more question before i start the process of upgrade.
1. when i installed the CWM using this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423002
Ans started the phone i was able to get the CWM to work. But once i shut down the phone again and try
You switch mute to OFF hold both volume buttons down and power on. You will see a menu with 3 options, choose the one to upgrage SW package and choose with the camera button.
iam getting the Blue colour screen. iam not getting the CWM options.
Is this how it is suppose to work or am i doing something wrong.
2.Once i have flashed StreakDroid4 2.5.0 after renaming the file to upgrade.pkg.how do i flash the ICS theam?? IF you could kindly give me the steps that would be great..

OK, first of all you're not supposed to rename SD4 2.5.0 to update.pkg
Let's make sure I understand you correctly. You're saying that you have (or had) CWM installed and you verified that it works (worked), right? That means that you can (could) get to CWM recovery and see all the options, like: reboot system, install zip, wipe cache partition, advanced and so on, correct?
Are you now saying you can't get to CWM recovery? That it somehow goes to Dell stock recovery option which is blue (I think)? CWM mode has blue color text too so that's why it is a little bit confusing.
If you somehow lost CWM recovery just install it again and then simply flash SD4 2.5.0
i have seen the option that come with CWM reboot system, install zip, wipe cache partition, advanced and so on...
This comes once i have installed it using the instruction listed in the post...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1423002
i even was able to create a back up the rom on my system using CWM.. which got listed in the sdcard as well.
but once i shutdown the phone and start it again i dont get that CWM again it comes up with the blue dell flash tool.(which is in blue colour again) just like CWM
Just wanted to know if this is the same that happens in you case as well or are you able to get CWM evertime.
(if i install it again Iam able to get it to work once and them again back to the dell flash screen)
Just wanted to know if there is a way by which we can get it permenantly to work without having to flast it again and again..

CWM should be there every time - it's a permanent thing. You can install it again and flash SD4 2.5.0 during that one time that you can get into CWM recovery.
hey
Here is what i did. I flashed SD4 2.5.0 on my phone using CWM.. all went well
Then i flashed your ICS theme.. and restarted the phone.. that went well as well.
But what i did after that was i reset the phone to default using the option in settings.
The phone just stoped working completly.
It got stuck at the Blue Andriod startup... I tryed to do the process all over again...
No luck.... I think i have messed up my phone completly.
But before i started doing all this what i did was i took a back up of my phone using CMW..
So when restored the system back all came back using CWM the phone was back and working again...
What did i do wrong..... and is there any better way of doing this???

Not really sure what exactly may have happened in your situation. So are you up and running again? And why did you want to do a factory reset after flashing SD4 2.5.0?
If you're phone is not up and runing right now then you need to get to CWM if you can and just reflash SD4 and the theme. If you can't get to CWM, then you need to restore your phone using TheManii's steps in his thread for unbricking your phone (basically you would need to flash via fastboot options).
I only recently got into the whole rooting deal, but i followed the instructions precisely double checking and everything went along well , after that i installed most of the apps from here, made a full backup with titianium backup, but then i decided to try and install a custom rom, which was where i made my first mistake, i made a backup of the current(stock) rom and then went straight on to downloading cyagenmod 7.2 to try it out on my phone.
When i started the install i obviously had the pre install options, i only left the one check there which was wipe delvik cache i think figuring that was all i needed to do. Phone rebooted and the loading logo started but didnt go past it and after it had reappeared for 3 times the screen just went in a white screen with differently colored horizontal stripes, i thought my phone was now bricked, but i managed to turn it off and turn it back on and get into recovery mode. I tried to do a recovery which didnt do anything, after that i just selected factory reset thinking it will get me back to the stock rom, but instead CM worked and finally got past the loading logo, i checked in the CWM if i had the backup i had made before trying to install CM and it was gone.
I want to know what i have done wrong(i obviously have), how can i reverse it and how to install roms properly(preferably in simple language). I already found this thread.
Phone: LG Optimus Hub (E-510)
P.S. I am missing the Play store app, is this normal for CM?
1. You got into bootloop because you didn't do factory reset/full wipe (the /data partition wasn't wiped, files on this partition were from stock ROM and weren't compatible with CM) -> this is the reason why it booted after full wipe. Full wipe only deletes data, it will not restore stock ROM.
2. '... i checked in the CWM if i had the backup i had made before trying to install CM and it was gone'
Are you sure you made a backup? Or didn't you delete it?
3. For the Play store - CM ROMs ussually don't have Google Apps in them, you have to flash them after CM installation (look in the ROMs thread for Google apps/ GApps)
1. Thanks for the explanation, im defineatly going to keep in mind to wipe the next time i attempt to install a custom rom. Is the stock rom still in my phone or do i have to look online for one?
2. I belive you are right, i do remember wanting to do a backup, but i might have forgotten about it, i did one now so i can have something to go back to just in case.
3. Dont really understand this, can you please direct me to a thread for this? I tried doing the flash CWM recovery which didnt do anything, could i try using my backups from titanium backup to get the apps back on the phone? It would be quite a mess to get all of it downloaded again.
Edit: i tried installing google play downloaded from other sites and whenever i go into it, it asks me to add an account, but when i press yes, it just closes.

First things first. Before you do anything else you need to do some reading in order to understand the Basics of Android. Otherwise your going to get yourself in a bind again. In my Signature your going to see some links if your on a PC. You should check them out, they will help with answers to a lot of your questions.
I cant thank you enough, i was looking for something like this! :good:
I will have something to read in my spare time, as little of it i have trough.
Your welcome . Glad I could help.

Alright so I was enjoying my newly rooted and unlocked 4.4.2 dna, but that was ended abruptly when I found out about the resolution changer apk in the app store. I change the resolution once, all was okay except the dpi was too low. So I upped it by like 100 (note that it wouldve only been maybe 20dpi over the inital factory 440dpi it came with) and then I reboot and cant even see anything on the screen. It's black with glitchy-like lines through the screen. Can't unlock.
Things I have tried:
Re-Flashed the rom I had installed, that failed.
Re-Flashed my firmware for the installed rom, also failed.
Searched FOR DAYS for help (because I am a noob and don't want to just post a thread instantly after registering, but I really have no choice at the moment.
I even sent the producers of the app an e-mail but I have no hope in that pulling through.
Anyways,
I desperately need help, and any recommendations or ANYTHING will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joey
You might try navigating to the offensive app via Twrp Recovery's File Manager, while in Recovery, with system mounted.
Then delete the apk from /data/app and reflash the rom.
I don't know if that will resolve the issue, but it may.
Good luck! :good:
