I am using a stock rom 16gig 10.1 unrooted but have had an issue where each time I use the keyboard dock and then attempt to plug in the usb adapter to the keyboard dock the keyboard ceases to function until I unplug and then plug back in.
I wish to use the keyboard dock's 30pin to play media off of a usb stick but this currently impossible. I have tried plugging in the usb adapter with no device, powered usb hub but still have had no luck.
The adapter does work very well when plugged directly to the tab however and I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue?
If the question was already answered please send me a link to the relevant thread and sorry in advance if I missed it.
Issue fixed with Touchwiz it seems. I don't know if anyone else had the same issue with stock rom but I have rooted and installed the excellent Touchwiz rom and usb devices now work perfectly.

Hi,
I am using the latest Overcome 2.1.1 ROM and face the exact same problem. How would I be able to resolve this? Thanks in advance and apologies for sounding like a newbie but I have only recently started to use Android devices!

Whenever I plug in my atrix's hdmi cable into my laptop or tv it does absolutely nothing! No matter what I install gingerblur with add ons, 4.1.57 webtop fix etc. I've tried it all and nothing works! Any ideas of what the problem could be? Shouldn't I get a popup or something when I plug in the hdmi cable? Do you think my port is broken? Anyway to test for sure? Any answers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
May just need to launch Webtop Connector manually. I don't get the auto detection pop up anymore either, but I haven't looked into it to be honest.
Take it to your local at&t store and try their dock. If it works or even recognizes the phone, you know it's just software. If it doesn't work, ask where your local DSC is and they'll swap it out for you under warranty (just flash back to stock first)
EDIT: the HDMI on your laptop should be out only, no input. Make sure the TV is on the HDMI input. Without voltage going to the phone, it won't know it's connected, and most TV's turn off the hdmi ports that aren't in use.
Thanks alot! Thats exactly what it was! it won't work on the laptop because of the type of hdmi port it is! When I hooked it up to the tv on a main hdmi port it actually works! I'm running gingerblur with the addon pack by the way. This has had me stumped I really appreciate the help! thanks again!
Hi
I can't get MHL to work. I have tried connecting it, and then rebooting the phone. I've tried on different roms(Lite'ning, CM7 and Revolution), but it's still not working. I have remembered to connect the charger to the MHL adapter. I'm using this adapter: h**p://komple**.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=638058 (replace * with t) (think it's the official samsung one).
Do anyone here have any suggestions to how I can make it work?
Thanks in advance
*bump bump*
MHL stopped working
Hi,
I recently bought a note 8.0 and HDMI MHL adapter along with it. My MHL HDMI adapter was perfect till it stopped working one fine day. I don't think it is a wiring issue since the MHL adapter still charges my device but is not able to export the tab screen to TV.
Is this a bug ? I don't think I have installed any applications that should create any problems. Any clues on how to resolve this situation ? I have tried factory reset but still it is not working. Will hard reset be of any help ?
Regards,
Pushkar
Im running ICS 4.0.3 SHOstock2 v2.2.4 with 3.0.30-cherrypicker kernel on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II i777. I purchased a MENOTEK MHL to HDMI adapter and Im trying to use it with my RCA Plasma TV. I connect the adapter to the HDMI cable then the power cable to the Adapter, and then I connect the adapter to my phone. The tv recognizes that I have the HDMI cable plugged in then the screen goes black. While I have the adapter plugged into the phone, the phone works fine, only there isn't anything being displayed on the screen. I try to launch several video apps, still nothing. The weirdest thing is when I unplug the adapter from my phone, it causes the phone to freeze and I have to pull the battery to restart. Is anyone else having a simular problem and may know of a fix. Ive done a few searches but havent been able to find anything. I appreciate any help that I can get.

Hey mate, I am using MHL to HDMI and I don't have any problem. I am using shostock 2.2.4 and once I connect the MHL adapert the TV mirrors the screen and if I play any videos it identifies and plays in full HD. Not sure what your mean by RCA cable there, so do you have RCA to HDMI cable and use that cable to connect to MHL adapter?
Same Thing
I am having the same problem with the same identical adapter. Running identical roms as you both. Are you on the lastest versio of ICS Shostock Saxa? Maybe there was a fix in the latest, however I did not see it n the changelog. Maybe we just have bad adapters and Jive's just happens to work. Mine used to work nicely with GB.

I havent updated to ShoStock 2.2.5 but I read in another thread that it could be a kernal issue so I switched to 3.0.30 SIYAH v3.2b5 mswap+ but still no luck, my television screen is still black, the only difference that I noticed was when i unplug the adapter the phone didnt freeze.

Sorry for the late reply RCA is the brand of the TV. Nothing fancy a standard HD Television.
I just updated to shostock 2.2.6.. will see if I get time to test the tv out today and get back to you guys.
Hey guys just tested now. Its working fine... I am using 2.2.6 and its working fine...
Make sure you connect the power cable to the mhl adapter without that it won't work
Let me know how you go

Even after the update to ShoStock 2.2.6 I still get a black screen instead of the TV mirroring the phone. I tried several different power adapters, 2 of them were the original i777 adapter. Im thinking that the mhl adapter is DOA. Im going to try to return it or exchange it for a different one.
I was using the same menotek mhl adapter you were and coming up with the same results. So I went on amazon and ordered the samsung one. Today it arrived and mhl to hdmi is now working on my phone.
yea i definitely will be sending mine back this week. I dont mind spending a couple extra bucks on the samsung adapter.
I just got an HDMI Adapter for my Canadian Galaxy Tab 10.1 running ICS. Device is not rooted and is running whatever software version is pushed from Samsung. For some reason, I cannot get the adapter to work at all. I've tried different HDMI cables, different TVs and I also tried it on my friend's Rogers Galaxy Tab 10.1, all to no avail. The tablet definitely recognizes the adapter, because when I plug it in, it launches the TuneIn Radio app for some reason, and when I unplug it, all the icons and widgets redraw themselves. I also can't see anything in the settings that deal with the HDMI connection. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

Although I don't have and HDMI adapter cable, I do know that power cable and plug must be used in conjunction. There should be an slot in the HDMI adapter to connect the power cable.
Click Thanks button if this helps.

Thanks! Plugging it in and restarting it did the trick.
In case anyone is contemplating a purchase of the adapter, I do not recommend it. You need to have it plugged into a power source and you need to reboot the device every time you want to use it. Also the resolution is absolutely garbage, my moto razr outputs much better quality and works simply by plugging in the cable.

Hmm , if there is a program through which to get better resolution and it seems to me that it has not yet perfected the Samsung tab ?

Hi. I have the same problems that you described. To Summarize:
· When connecting only the adapter, it just redraws the screen. After that, I connect the HDMI Cable and nothing happens.
· When connecting the charge cable or power adapter to the HDMI adapter before inserting it to the tablet, same as the first case.
· When connecting the charge cable and HDMI cable before inserting it to the tablet, same as the first case.
· When connecting the charge cable and HDMI cable and restaring the tablet after inserting it to the tablet, no signal is received by the tv.
I'm using a P5110, ¿is your model a P5113?
So I figured out how to use the RCA cable from my truck's stock backup camera. I just hook it into a device call EasyCap, and then it outputs it using USB. Next, I need to figure out how to power my Samsung Tab A 10.1 tablet while connecting it to this. I looked up and per the Samsung website, it states it supports USB OTG. What cables do I need to get and how do I hook them up? Thanks! (Any advice on a good EasyCap device would be nice too, there are tons of them to choose from).
Oops, please move this to the questions/answers section. I posted it in the wrong spot. Thx!
