Eh going by price, it makes it seem cheap to me. Will it sell more, possibly cus of price. But will it be better.....nahhhh

"Though the HTC Evo 3ds dual core CPU clocks at a slightly faster speed at 1.2 GHz, the Thrill 4G makes up for its slower clock speed with its dual memory channels." Dual channels?
No 4G, slower, half the RAM. PERFECT!!!
More importantly, why the hell would you care? I can't concern myself with the Jones's or what they are buying.
Honestly? Have you used an LG phone? There is no comparison. It's not competition. Not to mention it might be cheaper to start with but consider the network its on and the price you pay to be on that network.......we win in the end.

Exactly. I don't really consider it "competition". It's another 3d phone on another network. Hopefully, it will help with the increased 3d market as fast as apps, games and other content.

Lol ok guys, be nice. Can someone explain to us all though how dual memory channels will make up for the slower cpu and less ram? Someone with knowledge please help us all out lol. Not this wah wah ****
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
It may be $100 cheaper, but remember AT&T has a $325 ETF not $200 like Sprint. Plus their rate plans are a little bit more expensive.
Specs wise, it might be lower resolution but if it's like the 2x it's an IPS panel verses SLCD which looks better if it doesn't have the light bleed problem that plagued the 2x. As for dual channel memory, it allows the memory to be interacted with faster, but can't be filled if that makes any sense. So there can't be as memory hungry apps running, but it does help benchmarks for speed.
the LG has a TI WiLink chipset which is better (has more features like ANT+) than our Broadcom's.

Just rumors that AOSP will not work because of the dual cameras. Someone said if Cyanogen goes, all other devs will go too. As Nate and the other guy said, they can disable one camera and leave out the 3D features in CM.
Cyanogen can blow balls all I care lol.. they make a good product but if I wanted AOSP i woulda brought a nexus phone

I really don't get all the fuss about AOSP. I used CM7 a lot on the Evo and it is nice, but between Launcher Pro and Sense 3.0 I'm more than satisfied. In any event, I think Cyanogen would want to take on the challenge of getting a ROM to work on the 3d, versus just moving on to another device.
Who gives a crap about the damn 3d, I used it for 2 days to get the oohs and ahhs and now I'm done. If cyanogen can bake in something as complex as 4G doesn't it seem like they can get a cam working?

But!! ... The o3d got real-time fixation or something that prevents the 3d screen to act weird over time, while the evo3d doesnt have this.

I wouldn't recommend buying a phone solely because it has 3D support. Hardware design, software, the chipset, and a solid 2D camera are all specs you should consider when you are shopping for a new phone--3D is merely an extra frill at this point.

Describes how I see 3D on the Evo 3D. The phone is great, I'm even happy with the stock rom.
I saw this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY7nHi2Lcbg
And it confirmed what I already thought, especially with the benchmarks.
What I'm asking is if through custom roms, overclocking and different apps (maybe opera is better than stock browser) the evo 3d can get near or beat a stock S2 across a number of these tasks.
Referring to the ROMs I mean GSM, but any CDMA input is also appreciated and beneficial to the forum.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using xda premium
If you were to run AOSP on both phones, there is a very good chance you would not notice a difference in performance (real world wise). Overclock a Sense ROM and you'll probably get the same effect as well. But comparing OC'd to stock isn't that fair.
I will 1v1 anyone in any benchmarks and CPU speed... Lulz
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
How old is that video? I had to unroot my EVO to take the new update to the 2.17 base and I must say it flies. I noticed the difference right away. And I'm talking about stock unrooted. The new base on a custom Rom like Meanrom makes all other roms on the old base feel like crap.

Benchmarks were worth it during the Evo 4G era, but now, all these phones are so powerful that in the real world you won't see differences. IMO

Where do I mention benchmarks? If you watch the video its most comparing real world speed like opening and panning etc. Benchmarks are still a good indicator of raw performance

Ha i did mention them after all! My mistake, but I'm still a firm believer that benchmarks often show the raw performance of the hardware, but it's usually crippled by the supplied drivers and software.
I guess it's because I come from a PC era where benchmarks are a lot more valuable

G.nex isn't really considered a powerful phone by any means. Just a elegant phone with an insane display, ICS, and second best development before the International GS2.

Good, because with all the issues just trying to get fully working ROMs and proprietary drivers not being made available, its just not worth the effort. Things will be faster if 3D drivers are not part of the equation.

I can't say that I am even a little sad. The 3D was a joke. I wish I had never changed from my Evo 4G. The hardware, while I guess was nicer, wasn't worth the upgrade. The 5MP camera wasn't as good as the 8MP. Not to mention the 3D driver issues. The only positive thing I have to save is that the physical camera button was nice.
