[Q] USB connection not working - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi,
i have a weird problem. When i connect my p500 to a computer via usb it is not recognised. I have tried on 3 different pcs. The charging still works though. No usb icon is shown in the notification area. Doesnt work even when i try to mount sd card in recovery.(amon ra)
Could it be a problem with modified kernel or rom, or is a hardware fault? Has anybody had a similar problem? if yes, how can it be solved?
thanks

do you ar using franco's kernel? what rom?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15992215

i was using modified stock froyo rom. i guess the kernel was francos. it worked before. now i tried to flash devoid, doesnt work either. i reformatted my both sd cards as suggested in some other thread.
i have also tried restoring a backup from time it worked.
looks like a hardware fault to me.
will try to flash the stock rom if i can find a zip.

[Q] How to flash stock ROM using ROM manager?

My computer wont recognize my phone at all, it just says 'USB device not recognized'. I have tried reinstalling drivers, using different USB cables, USB debugging mode, mass storage mode and mounting the SD card ALL of that.. so I know it's something wrong with the phone rather than my drivers or me being stupid. I have searched to try and find a fix for this but nothing is forthcoming.. I think it may be a faulty USB port on my phone.
Anyway, this means I can't use ODIN to flash my phone back to stock so what I want to do is flash my phone back to stock T959UVJI6 using a zip file and ROM manager if possible.. but I have looked everywhere and can't find a zip for stock ROM... Every method I've seen says to use ODIN which is impossible for me.
Any help on this or a link to where I can download a stock ROM zip would be appreciated.
ok I managed to flash Bionix Fusion 1.2 which is ok, seems to be running fine. I still can't connect to my computer though I guess I will have to get the USB port checked out.
Sounds like an issue on the PC side if it recognized the phone was connected. You sure you got the drivers... are you using the cable that came with the phone? Sounds crazy, but i had issues using my nexus one cable one time.
I tried with the cable that came with my phone and also my husband's micro usb cable.. I downloaded the drivers from the link given in the XDA forums, tried to restore drivers from KIES, downloaded drivers from other spots too.. none of them work. I also tried to connect to my husband's PC and it said 'USB device not recognized' as well. I noticed a couple of other posts where this has happened to people and there seems to be no software/using different cable solution.. I am guessing I'll just have to get the phone looked at as I'm not savvy enough to go about it myself! Thanks for the advice though

Thank you, I will flash this one when I get home

Not your average USB issue

Details : CM7 latest nightly with Siyah Kernel v2.6.12
Symptoms : My PC previously recognizes my phone without an issue (with the exception on when i flashed CM9), I then flashed back to CM7 it was working initially, now my PC does not detect/recognize phone (either nothing happens besides charging or states phone is an unknown device, the latter only happens like 1 out of 20 tries, as it is installing the driver SAMSUNG_ANDROID, it says device suddenly disconnected) even in recovery, Odin can't detect phone. Phone still charges as normal. Phone at times (subject to whether PC states the device is unkown) says there is a USB connection, and still maintains it eventhough i have pulled out the USB cable.
I still am able to transfer files to my phone's internal SD via Airdroid.
Remedies tried : Different PC Port, different computers, cleaned registry via CCleaner, reinstalling Kies & drivers, trying a different Rom & Kernel, cleaning phone's USB port.
Any advice guys? what other possible remedies there is? or is this something besides a USB problem?
Have you tried flashing original firmware to see if the problem persists?

i don't have usb utilities under W&N, maybe cause i am using cm7 which is an AOSP rom? still haven't try the stock ROM method yet, gonna give it a go after class...
Guys just asking, if i flashed the wrong bootloader, could odin still detect my phone in download mode?

[Q] USB Mounting

Hi,
My Samsung Galaxy Gio (S5660) is unable to connect to any computer (already tried on 4, all with kies, other cables, etc). It always says unrecognized device, even on downloading mode. It is on stock gingerbread, but it was on CM 7.2, i remember i flashed a ext4formatter.zip on the procedure, does it has anything to do with?
Any ideas?

Do you have USB Debugging enabled? Also allow Unknown resources?
Yes, already tried with them on or off, nothing seems to be working..

Did you check to make sure the drivers are installed?

Yes, I even reinstalled them via Kies, and even installed Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones, etc..
Try Unistalling, then reinstalling the drivers.

Anything related to software (PC) was already done. As I said, tried on 4 computers, all with the same error. Kies and drivers already full uninstalled/installed. XP/Seven.
In my opinion it seems to be about the phone. Even when trying to install a official update from samsung the installation fails with a 0x80010093 error code.
Doesn't ext4/rts have nothing to do with this?
Regards
I would try flashing a different Rom. See if the issue persists.

The thing is that for flashing the roms provided here is by ODiN, and as I cant connect it, I cant flash it
Flashed CM7.2 via CMW and still no sucess. Tried to mount USB Storage on CWM and the same happens...
Same problem here, on my SGS1 I9000.
I tried every solution found on this forum but nothing worked.
If you find a way to work, write it please
Well till it gets resolved you can try using Wireless adb. There are also several Wireless file transfer apps. When I get home I'll link a few

Thanks I'll be waiting
Well here's a few for you. I've used these so I know they work. There are more I'm sure. Links are below . First one is Wireless ADB.

Still no ideas how to solve this?
Wireless abd works for data transfer, but for a rom flashing it doesn't
Regards
Kies won't recognise a phone with custom ROM...one possible way is to connect your phone to pc using stock firmware, allow drivers to be downloaded then flash the custom ROM again...my SGA running a custom ROM is able to connect to pc cause drivers were downloaded before this...
Another alternative is to enable windows update and allow it to auto-download the drivers...provided your internet connection is on...hope this helps...

The things is:
My Kies didnt recognize my phone with the stock rom.
My Odin didnt recognize my phone with the stock rom. (download mode - non related to the rom).
My Windows Explorer didnt recognize my phone with the stock rom.
So i've tried to install a custom rom as it could (it shouldnt) be a rom issue.
And the same as I've written happens.
Owh...stock GB is supposed to be in .rfs format...not .ext4...the zip must have reformatted it...

[Q] No computer recognizes my phone in either Download/USB Mount-mode

It's really weird.
I've tried it on three different computers (All Windows 7 though)
But it used to work on all three (except for when my desktop USB-ports ****ed themselves up)
I'm beginning to believe the outlet in which the USB cable goes into might be damaged.
I'm about to flash full Stock firmware, cause that's the last time I remember it working (like 3 months ago), and see if it works.
Any other tips?
Currently on WanamLite 11.4, and been flashing back and forward to Cyanogenmod using CWM flashables.
Clean phones USB port first
Second install USB drivers .
jje
Tried installing latest stock LPD firmware, still doesnt work.
Also tried "cleaning" the USB..
Phone must be broken..
**** I cant be bothered with this ****!
I suppose I'll have to wipe every trace of any flashing and send back to Samsung

Okay, won't help me any at all now though.
I flashed stock, lost root (i'm so stupid) and now since I can't connect the phone to my computer, I can't get CWM back to restore my backup.

Seems a bit weird, have you tried using another cable?
I almost bricked my phone once because of a damaged cable...
Cheers,
Stefan.
Try cleaning the contacts between the battery and your phone.
Did you fix your problem?
If not, what exactly happens when you plug it in to your computer?
If "something" at all happens, then you may just need to switch the internal USB switch to use PDA and not MODEM in the PhoneUtils hidden menu. Make sure both USB and UART is set to use PDA!
Dial: *#*#7284#*#*.
did u try to erase kies and install only driver?

UART was set to Modem.

[Q] USB Device not recognized (CM13 - CM12.1)

Hey,
I have been using CM12.1 Nightlies since January, and I've been experiencing bugs related to USB recognition. Yesterday I've updated to CM13 thinking that it would solve this issue, but it haven't.
What happens is that I can't use USB storage/MTP/Odin/direct plug adb because my phone doesn't get recognized by the OS. I think that the USB port is not damaged because I can charge it when connected to my PC . I used to have CM11 and it worked fine, I think that maybe it is something related to the build itself..?
I have already tried a lot of methods, USB debug on/off, different cords, OSes (Tried on Windows, Mac, Linux), multiple adb/samsung drivers, apps.. nothing has worked so far.
I can only access the internal data using an external SD card or through network adb.
I think that the USB module was overwritten, because it looks undentified in every device that I've tested.
Has anyone experienced something like that? any tips, tests, or patches that I've missed?
Thanks.
Did you install Google USB Driver? I had to install this one to get my device on CM 13 recognized. It should work "out-of-the-box" on Linux distros though if you've got libmtp installed (for MTP browsing).

The device doesn't get recognized by Windows, it doesn't even show up on the connected devices list. The funny thing is that the phone actually charges, so it is not a dead usb connection...
I think that I'll have to replace the USB PCB...
Hello,
i tried to flash twrp to my i9100.
I had cm12.1 with cyanogen recovery and tried to apply update for :
"recovery-Lanchon-IsoRec-TWRP-2.8.7.0-20160113-i9100-(by-arnab)"
and
"kernel-Lanchon-TRIM-IsoRec-20160207-cm-13.0-i9100"
but know my phone is not starting anymore.
I already know that i used 13 kernel for 12.1 system and that was wrong.
I can access ODIN Mode but my pc (win10) and Odin v.3.10 don´t recognize my S2.
Can you tell me how to solve my problem?

Try reinstalling Samsung USB drivers. If that didn't work then try it on another computer.
Now my S2 is getting recognized again.
But i geht the error code 43.
The device description is failured.

Read this thread, it has the answer to your question.
Hey, OP here.
So just updating my status, I bought and replaced the Micro-USB connector and everything is working now, the device is recognized by the OS and I'm able to use use Odin/ADB normally.
If anyone out there is having the same issue, I recommend buying a new Micro-USB PCB. This phone is from 2011, batteries and connectors might stop working...
Thanks everyone for helping me out!
