help with baterry not charging
you have to use the wall charger, charging with your computer is not enought power when the batterry is dead. the same thing happened to me.

Most computers should be able to charge the phone, unlike the iPad or those new Android Tablets. I actually have the same problem, for a while ago I can't charge my phone using the USB outlet of my PC or Mac (notebook or desktop). I recently upgraded to GB using one Kenneth's beta 4.5 ROM. Dunno if that has actually anything to do. I could charge before using a regular USB cable.

If you have a USB 3.0 port it will charge, but not on USB 2.0.
Best to just use the wall charger.

[Q] CM9 Alpha 2 Won't Charge

Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could help me out with the issue I am having. I have CM9 Alpha 2 on my Touchpad and it was working perfectly fine until recently. I was able to recharge it using my Touchpad charger when it was booted into WebOS, however, I accidentally left it on over night booted into CM9 and the battery died and now it will not charge. I have tried to use the Touchpad charger and the screen turns on and shows a dead battery symbol then shows a picture of a power cord and then the display turns off and doesn't charge. I then try using a BlackBerry charger and I plug it in and try to turn it on and it says to reliably charge this device use the charger that came with it and then turns off and doesn't charge. In both instances I have tried to do a hard reset (power and home button) in hopes that would make it reboot and charge but it does not work.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

You can follow that discussion above... but basically that happens when the battery drains on CM9 (bug). Even if you are able to boot into CM9, if you have the power cable plugged in when it boots, it will not charge. The battery meter will stay at 0% even after an hour of it being plugged in. If you remove the power cable, it will shut off. Like mentioned above, you have to either boot into webOS (keep trying to reboot till you get moboot to load) or maybe get lucky and unplug/replug the power cable while in CM9.
I bricked my touch pad n I couldn't figure out how. I have 3 touchpads in the family n the one i bricked was the last one. Same issue on charge all night but no charge.
Cause was the original USB cable had failed. Just in case u have the same issue plug a blackberry short USB cable into your original HP charger n see if it works. That how I got round my issue. Samsung PC USB cable also works.
Good luck
I nearly lost mine, thanks to this thread I'm charging in WebOS back at 6% from 2%, whew! Thank you all.

[Q] Charging problem

Hello.
I have really big problem with charging.
When I start to charge it shows that phone is using more than charger can give. After that phone turns off because it goes to 0%.
It started when I tried Viper Sense 4 rom. Then it didn't happen again. Now I have it when I use Coolexe rom and Yoda rom.
Now I can't charge more than 3%. It just doesn't charge. I got into recovery...maybe it uses less. It got to 3% and turned off...again 0%.
Im using LG charger right now because I left my charger in cousins house but it can't be that charger is problem because i've used it for 2 months and problem started just now. It's really annoying. Please reply fast. If you can please PM fix. I can't get internet connection because I don't have PC or phone anymore.
Have you tried a different cable? I have actually send it to htc, they gave me a new battery, but the problem was my cable...
The kernel/ROM you're using can definitely affect how it charges, but I think your problem must be either with your battery or the charger/cable. You've got to at least try a different charger and see what happens. How long is your charge cable?

[Q] Phone boots, but won't charge (normally)

So, I ran my Razr Maxx down to 0% battery the other day. (I know - don't do that...)
After much reading, I tore the phone apart and was able to charge the battery by connecting the red/black wires from a USB cable directly to the +/- screws on the battery connection.
I can now boot all the way into my ROM, stock or Eclipse (SafeStrap slot 1). The battery status shows 'charging (AC)'. But the % remaining is slowly dropping. It was at 44% when I first booted. It's down to 41% now.
I powered off and let the charging screen come up - it shows 50%, but it's not gaining any charge. Last night, I left it plugged in all night (powered off) and the battery was dead by morning. I think I started with ~ 30% charge that time. So, even though this shows 50% now, I suspect it's still discharging.
I've tried different chargers, including the Motorola charger.
I tried making a factory cable, but that doesn't seem to charge the phone - it appears to just provide power while bypassing the battery.
Any ideas on other things I can try to get this to charge off a normal charger & cable? Thanks!!
I think USB port is broken. Check charging in BMM.

Well, I was able to connect via usb to my laptop and copy files of the internal sd. And the charging indicator shows that it is charging via usb/ac. Of course, it doesn't seem to actually be charging. Would that be possible if the usb port was broken?
Maybe something is wrong. To be 100% sure check it in BMM. Charge it 1hr and boot normally and check bat %

Thanks... I'll give it a try. Quick question - where should I grab BMM from? I want to make sure I have the latest version. (I've always used SafeStrap.) The thread I found for BMM looks like it hasn't been updated in a long time.

Okay... installed bmm from Google play...
When I first get into bmm, it shows 99% for the battery. After tapping around, it eventually updates and shows 13%. I powered off and waited for the charging screen, which shows 15% now.
I'm not familiar with bmm... is there any place aside from the status bar at the top that shows charging/battery status?
Is there any sort of battery calibration that might help?
Thanks...
Yes for the battery calibration it is in the recovery under wiping it says wipe battery stats. See if that helps

Tried wiping battery stats, and still no luck...
So, right now it appears that:
1) The battery will NOT charge via the usb port, but WILL charge when I apply +5v directly to the battery.
2) The usb port is functional for connecting to a computer and transferring files over a usb cable.
Something that occurred to me today is that, when the phone was at 1%, I plugged it into a friend's charger. She has a Samsung Galaxy S4 - I'm not 100% sure if it was the factory charger, but I think it was. Could the charger somehow have damaged the phone such that it won't charge over the usb port (but somehow leave the usb port functional?)
Could replacing the battery have any chance of success? (Seems unlikely, since it can take a charge directly.)
Is there any other debugging I can do to narrow down the problem? Or is it time to give up? Is the phone likely to be useful to anyone for parts?
Thanks everyone so far for the suggestions...

[Q] [[help]] phone wont charge after using fastcharge

I had finally installed a custom kernel for my us cellular galaxy s3 (sch-r530u)
ran fast charge on it...
it charged fine but later when it had died now it wont charge at all
I have tried several AC adaptors, car charger, and my computer
all that happens is the phone tries to turn on and then dies before the OS can start
if I plug it in I do not see the charge light turn on
I do not have a warranty as I bought this phone used from a friend that upgraded to the s5.
I am assuming this could just be the battery (maybe somehow fast charge messed up my battery?)
I just wanted to check here before I went and bought anything.
Thanks for any advice.

Seems like USB cable was not capable of that bigger numbers or you just used too big amount for fast charge overall, and that was bad for the battery.
Replacing battery will do the job.
You may also have blown the charging circuit inside the phone, but try changing the battery first.
You have posted in the wrong forum and wrong section, this is for i9300 only.

Phone is not recognized by pc, flashtool nor pc companion

Hi guys I'm looking for some opinion to point me in the right direction.
Bought a Z2 from Ebay as "parts non working" when I got the phone, tried to charge it but didn't charge, after some reading saw a comment from a guy sayin' "cut a usb cable and make some kind of wireless charger", did it and the device started to charge, well once charged turned on device, made the set up and started to download update after update.
Once ended unplugged from the homemade charger and plugged to my laptop (W7) and just made nothing, not even on my cellphone (No charging led, no notification). After some read tryied the pc companion method and guess what DIDNT WORK, tryied the flashtool method and same thing, but the thing I noticed is when try to connect the device into flashmode the green led turn on for a second and turns off almost instantly.
Also the battery is draining to fast, like 1% every 6 min even if Im not using it tought was the home made charger but 3 days ago picked a magnetic cable to charge the phone and battery drain persists, Im using a 2 A Samsung wall adapter.
You think it may be a damaged USB port, battery or both? I'm bootloader allowed yes, thanks in advance.
AWESOME
