Hi there, i am currently using Wolfbreak's TW009 with BB.54 and zKernel, but i want to switch to Goro's 3.60 kernel (or 3.62) can i just flash Goro's kernel over zkernel or do i need to go back to Stock kernel first?, in that case is there a way to go back to stock kernel without resetting the whole thing? o.o
EDIT: i just flashed the new custom kernel over the old custom kernel, it worked

Make sure ya get all files needed before doing anything Ya need to (1) unlock bootloader, then (2)flash required Kernel for ICS. Then (3)get to the recovery mode provided along with the Kernel.Next, (4)flash the ROM and there ya go, (5)Reboot and Enjoy. Hope Helps

To be precise, If ya in locked bootloader status, full wipe and clear cache partition (note these action will getya System Data wiped along) will get ya back to stock kernel everytime. If ya in unlocked bootloader status, just get ya Stock Kernel for Unlocked Bootloader X10 to be flashed via flashtool, then ya will get it worked, your ROM won't be affected. Just RAM and governors and little tweak added within the kernel you flashed. Hope helps

I flashed doomlords v4 kernel after flashing trips MIUI rom and have lost access to xrecovery. It just gets stuck at the Sony Ericsson logo. I went to superuser and turned on compatibility mode but nothing changed. Any help?

First, why do people keep posting questions to the dev section?!
Second, use flashtool to revert to stock firmware and start over.
First of all, wrong thread and second, wrong site. Ask in modaco site.
Rom is not using xrevovery03. And in kernel is xrecovery03.
Wondering if you are on baseband 71 and did you flash cm7 kernel by mistake.

Why modaco? The problem is not the ROM, as I'm currently using my phone to post this. The issue only came up after flashing the kernel.

Trips Roms are not compatible with custom kernels as he has stated before. you cant flash a custom kernel unless you have an unlocked bootloader (even then i'm not so sure). it stuffs the Recovery. Trips rom doesnt use Xrec 0.3. as a previous post stated you'll have to restore back to official 2.3.3 and re-root reinstall xrec and reinstall rom.

Hmm ok. So I need to flash the global generic 2.3.3 ftf and then do the downgrade / upgrade method? Then I can reinstall xrec and the rom?

Kernel will work. I tried an it worked. I do not what went wrong.
But use xrecovery03 before you flash kernel. Use flash tool GBready to get xrecovery03. You will reconize it by the logo of Z
woah! Don't start again with flashing 2.3 rom, it's unneccessary! you can manually copy/paste the needed files to the rom with a file manager and set the permissions right. But I would recommend you to unlock your bl, flash dooms stock 2.3.3 kernel for unlocked bl's and then the v04b kernel for locked bl's with recovery.
Why? Simple: using dooms stock 2.3.3 kernel means you can't loose xrecovery again, even if you format system partition and reboot you can enter xercoery again, cause it's included in the kernel. Also you can remove then the xrecovery.tar from your system partition cause it's not needed anymore.

Hey there,
I have a Xperia neo with unlocked bootloader and Inteks clean Kernel and Stock Rom.
Before i went back to stock rom i was using different custom Roms Like miui or Cynagenmod. Now that im back to Stock i noticed that my wifi-connection is not that good like with a custom rom.
I always wipe my data before flashing another rom, so that shouln´t be the problem.
My question is now ? Is there way to get the Wifi library/apk from the custom rom and simply install it to custom rom ?
If yes where do i get these files

Right now i have Inteks Kernel, so you mean, if i get the wifi.lib from a miui rom i will need the specific Kernel for this rom e.g. Jasonsteins Kernel.
Then stock rom would work with the new wifi lib, but probaly nothing else : ?
I have installed CM9 and not really satisfied after using it for 1 day... its quite unstable... now i want to downgrade to my stock rom. Is that possible? Please help.

You are joking right?
Have you tried this CM9/
Neo
Neo V
Its the OFFICIAL STABLE cyanogenmod for the NEO. It is VERY STABLE and has everything working.
Apart from that, to revert back to stock, just flash a stock kernel (Or any modded kernel for stock) and restore the backup you made before flashing the cm9 rom.

I just added the link for the neo v
Yes, you need stock kernel.(or modded kernel for stock roms)
The kernel for CM will not work with stock rom.
My suggestion is to try the stable cm9 for neo v from my link. If you are still unhappy then download a stock kernel, flash it it fastboot then restore your stock backup in recovery.
Do remember, if you flash stock kernel you will have to install a recovery. Or you can flash the alliance kernel from this thread

Rule number 1
Always backup, just in case you **** up!
Anyway, no problem, there are several options.
Find a stock .ftf in the dev section and flash that in flashtool after you have flashed the stock kernel.
Or, repair phone software using PCCompanion.
This will revert your phone to factory settings (Out of the box).
Or just follow the instructions in any "stock" based custom rom. I recommend Ice cream Pureness. Its a very good stock ICS based rom, fully functional and stable

Hi, I am planning to isntall FXP146 over my stock .587 rom for my mini. My query is , do I need to install the rom before installing the custom kernel (like MESA) or the other way around? Or any order would do.
And which kernel is recommended for FXP if I am not into overclocking (MESA or Stock FXP) ??

You can use which you want, if you want more functions, use mesa.
You can flash kernel or rom first, normally this doesn't really matter. Only the clockworkmod version could change compared to the kernel you are using currently
Just flash the kernel then the rom or flash the rom then the kernel. You can use the kernel in the zip or mesa if u want more cpu governors & i/o scheduler like Mihahn said (better battery life too )
thanks guys for all the help.. yes i am using the MESA kernel, and i dont think anything can get better... loving cyanogenmod xD
help D:
umm I tried flashing fxp 146 but forgot to format data, now I am in boot loop and can only have fast boot, no cwm.
What should I do

First install a custom kernel. As most of custom rom required a custom kernel. So better have a custom kernel as you may need to switch to others custom rom in future. As for now, I personally recomended KernelPanic( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861905 ). I use Panic with Real ICS V6 custom rom and they works like a charm. Mesa provide good battery lifes but lack of perfomances and bad sound quality(i tried it myself before turn to Panic). You may try Rage kernel and Krsh as well. But there are abit old now, haven't updated since last few months. But still they are good kernels. Do some research before taking action's always a good idea. Cheers!
Hey guys long ago I rooted my xperia mini pro and put CM 9 or 10 then I went back on Stock then again i put some radom kernel and and rom, then i wanted to put a rom here from te forum but when I put the kernel and try to go to recovery it wouldn't start the recovery the screen is just black
So i went back to stock !
now my question is how do I root again X_X
and how do I put CMW reocvery, because I want to put this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220537
maybe you can find here what you search
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842366
and 4.1.2 is not ICS its JB
Since u tried cm, I am sure ur bootloader is unlocked.
So the easy way to root now would be to flash any custom kernel. It will be prerooted.
If you still want ti retain the rooted stock rom
Flash kernel and flash stock excluding kernel
Or flash stock and then flash kernel

Yes most (I believe all) custom kernels will have cwm ( or twrp,) so yes.
Try goin to dev section and find the list of kernels in stickies and find a jb kernel.
