Hi,
I just got my phone, and one of the first think I did, was to start updating to latest firmware on Kies. This seemed to get stuck for hours so i disconnected the USB cable, and after that, all that happens when i start the phone is that I see a phone and a computer symbol with a warning triangle in the middle.
I have tried emergency restore in Kies, but cant get into this mode (vol up,home, On/off button ?). I suppose I somehow have to reset my phone, but how am I to do this now?
If you are wanting to do a Factory Reset then, *2767*3855#. And you should press Volume Down+Home+Power key to enter Download mode I guess.
Regards.
I cant dial any number because all I see when i turn it on is that screen i described with some symbols. I do manage to get it into download mode, but I dont really dont know where to go from here to restore everything. Kies tells me I need emergency restore, but I cant get into this mode...
phone off vol up = home + power hold down until splash screen and release .
Then wipe data and factory reset.
That fails service centre next .

When i Try the combo vol up+home+power nothing happens other then the phone starting with the symbols.I suppose this combo doesn't work on my phone, at least if I am not doing it horribly wrong.
As soon as you get a display release vol up + home followed by pwr .

I have tried what you are saying several times, but I am still stuck at the screen with the symbols:/
edit: this is how my screen looks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:Samsung_Galaxy_S_Black_Screen_of_Death.jpg
I have tried to flash the firmware in ODIN but that gets stuck at zimage.
Now i fixed my problem by flashing to branded original kernel from Orange. I have realized I am not able to update this though, and I dont want all these useless apps preinstalled. Therefore I have tried to flash to EU unbranded ROMs like XWKE7. But when I am doing this, Odin always gets stuck.
Is there anything I should do before I flash one of these ROMs (yes I am new to this...)?
I am sorry to spam my own thread, but now my phone got locked up by the same symbols again, but this time I cant manage to flash back to original orange kernel. Each time i try to flash, the process gets stuck at zimage or some other point.
Any ideas how to fix? Or have i bricked my phone?:/
Start at the beginning .
Boot to recovery mode Advanced Wipe Dalvik Cache .
Mounts and storage Format data system sd card .
No recovery on phone just wiper data and factory reset .
Power phone off source stock rom from stock roms post in dev section set up Odin .
Boot phone to download mode connect cable and flash rom .
Or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108499
That fails its a service centre .

I didnt quite get what you were saying there. I have wiped my phone with recovery, but when I try to flash any ROM with ODIN the process stops after a few seconds, and I have to flash my original Kernel to get things to work. Any thoughts on this?
Edit: I figured my "fix" was using another PC with another USB port, because my current pc seems to hate my SG2 device

I've searched by I cant find a solution to my problem online.
I9100 failed to get past initial splash screen this morning (following battery discharge).
I obviously cant use the *2767*3855# 'cos I'm stuck on the splash screen.
Volume up + Home followed by power for 2-3 sec only gives me the splash screen.
Volume down followed by power does put me into download mode but my only options after that are
- volume down to cancel and restart (which gets me back to stuck splash screen)
- volume up to install a custom rom.
Its a company phone so I dont want to install a custom rom and only want it back to factory settings. Google search implies that there should be other 'wipe' options in the download mode but volume down only restarts the phone.
Help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Good, you could able to reach Download Mode. Just connect the device via Odin and flash a Stock firmware of your choice, simple.

Regards.
Many thanks for your reply.
I've flashed a few times before with my original i9001 but this is a work phone so I'd prefer to leave it on the current carrier firmware. I was hoping I'd find a way of returning it to factory settings rather than trying to mess with it via Odin.
Remove battery for a couple of hours and try again .
Charge battery if possible .
Google search implies that there should be other 'wipe' options in the download mode but volume down only restarts the phone.
No wipe options ever in download mode .
Recovery mode = wipe and factory reset Vol Up + PWR + Home release at splash screen .
If you know what your original firmware was then try the branded roms post .

Hi guys,
I have rooted my gf's phone 2 months back using litening rom to gain root and CWM and subsequently flash it with CheckROM 4.
Phone is good for about a month or so until one fine day, when she restarts her phone, the phone goes into download mode.
Now, in the download mode, the button is not responding at all. either vol up or down. No respond. So i tried to go into recovery but the phone one, instead, that combination restarts the phone.
Now the phone cant get into recovery mode at all, by all means, tried CWM manager, tried Vol up + Power + home button
And when i go into download mode, the vol button gave me no respond, the vol button works perfectly during normal phone state.
Jigged it and vol button wont respond too. Tried factory reset the phone but all it did is reset the time and date.
Anybody can give me some pointer and or experiencing the same problem? My gf is upset, and if i cant solve it, i have to buy a new phone to her
No recovery mode and no download mode + USB jig does not work .
Requires JTag machine or Service Centre .

I tried rooting my LG Optimus L3 E400, and it was successful, so I tried installing CM9 . . . I followed the instructions and it went well . . . but on the part where this robot thing with the blasting blue background appeared . . . it took a long time for it to boot . So I decided to remove the battery since it won't turn off . Then I when I turned it on, the robot booting logo continued . Then I tried turned on normally, but the graphics had a high saturation and the fonts weren't clear anymore . The Superuser was removed, but the ROM Manager was still there . Then I tried KDZ update thing but I always get this error ' Upgrade error WParam: 100, LParam: 6 ' . It said that it would make my phone boot normally, but it didn't . Now I can't charge, the USB logo won't appear, and ask me which USB connection mode to choose .
Got a possible solution!

Well , i got the sam problem at the moment , and i've been searching the internet for days now to find how to fix it... since i'm not very experienced i can't just go to modifying something in my phone but completely change the rom. With my previous experience with an LG P500 i've found a very good solution using KDZ installer so i've jut googled KDZ LG L3 and apparently it will work on L3 too ... Now i dont know if i'm allowed to post a link , but anyway even with ban it will be worthy if it helps you. Is it your USB cable that's broken? Can your computer still detect the phone? And most importantly can you still turn the phone on?

No, my friend had an LG Optimus L5 . . . she borrowed my charger yesterday and it charged . . . My phone can't connect to the computer . . . and yes It can turn on . . . but the LG start up logo is broken . . . The part where there's a pink and violet wave . . . it's like a broken television signal .
Unless you can connect your phone to the computer, it'll be really tough to fix... Okay, are you able to launch these things: 1. Emergency Mode: Make sure phone is off. Hold Volume up + down + power button. You should get a yellow screen with the words emergency mode on it.
2. Can you still run Clockworkmod recovery?
3. Try a factory reset. Volume up + Home button + Power button.
This ones tricky if you have CWM installed. Hold down the three buttons until the vibration comes along and quickly let go. It might take a few tries.

If you can still make it into emergency mode and CWM, that's good. Okay, first, go into CWM and WIPE EVERYTHING. Data, cache, dalvik cache. Wipe them all. Then, put your phone into emergency mode. Try to connect your phone to your computer and try to use the Kdz flasher again. IF this fails then download this:
http://www.shabbypenguin.com/OUDstuff/LG-E400/stockrom+.zip
And flash it in CWM. It's probably in a different country then yours but it's better than nothing.

That one is kinda tough. Unless you know how to use ADB there's not really a way to get it on to your phone. Its like the CM9 installation. Just install exactly the same way as you did for CM9. Try fixing your phone with kdz flasher first. Don't forget to put in 3QCT and Emergency modes first.

Actually, are you using the CM9 rom or did you restore a backup? Also, try mounting your phone in CWM, connect your phone to computer and see if your computer picks up anything. What does it say when you launch software update anyway?

Yes, and I dunno how to mount CWM . . . and It says the same error . . . Param: 6 . . .
In CWM, there is a menu named mounts and storage. In there will be a sub menu called mount USB storage. Go into it. You'll see the only option in there is BACK. At this point, connect phone to computer. See if you have connection. I have to ask, do you know how to use KDZ flasher. Please tell me step by step as to what you did.
Hi!
My LG L3 E400 is bricked. When i try to turn it on,it vibrates and the LG logo appears and thats it. Hard reset, recovery mode or anything else is not possible to do. The only thing i can do is emergency mode. I was trying with software update kdz with stock .kdz files (V10G_00.kdz and V10A_00.kdz) but i got an error (Wparam 100 Lparam 2) Same thing on two different computers (Xp and 7,drivers installed...).
Is there any other way to make him alive?

Hello again,
Because nobody have this problem too i wrote yesterday (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077133) i decided to flash my phone.
First of all i wanted to root it with chainfires autoroot.
My problem now is simple explained:
I turn off the phone and press volume down+home+power button.
Then there is a warning which says i should press volume up for entering download mode or volume down for restart.
If i press the volume up button nothing happens. The same with volume down. Nothing.
What can i do in this case?
Post once don't break the rules .
Are you sure you get no response when using vol up button .
Kies firmware recovery ???
Worth trying a factory reset .
That fails you can try a USB recovery jig .
Simple answer would be a Samsung Service centre as it looks like the KIES update has gone wrong .

Sorry for the new Thread, but i thought this problem has nothing to to with the other so i decided to make the new thread.
- Yes there is no respone after i am asked to press vol up or down.
- I can enter recovery mode, but not download mode
- Tried a factory reset 3 times.
- Kies firmware recovery don't shows my phone in the list to recover. Kies says all is working correct.
I think i will use my phone now without my home button and wait for next firmware update which hopefully helps

you flashed via odin by putting your device in download mode right?
did it restart after flashing the firmware? did you see result in the odin window?
if you can attach screenshot of the odin window it might help to understand the issue.
after flashing I9100XWLS8_I9100FOPLS3_FOP via odin, device should restart. first time it takes time. if you are stuck in samsung logo go in to recovery mode and do factory reset then restart the device. it should be fine.

Did you even read about what those links are meant for?
One is for flashing ICS, the other is for getting back to stock firmware, and the last one is for getting out of a soft-brick.
REBOOT into Download Mode (Home + Power + Vol. Down)
PLUG your device in your PC.
KILL all KIES process working on the background (If you don't have Kies, install it and then close it all up)
OPEN ODIN and select the JB LS8 tar file on PDA and press start.
When it says "pass", phone will reboot itself.

dont panic, remove the battery and put it back, dont power on. charge it for minimum 30 mins. then try to reflash the firmware using correct odin. after flashing you should have stock recovery. go in to stock recovery do factory reset and then restart the phone.

dont panic, remove the battery and put it back, dont power on. charge it for minimum 30 mins. then try to reflash the firmware using correct odin. after flashing you should have stock recovery. go in to stock recovery do factory reset and then restart the phone.

I am looking at your pictures but it doesn't make any sense.
When Odin shows "Pass" the device should reboot itself and go straight to android, not recovery.
