Why would you want to do that? As of the moment it isn't possible until we have full root access.

i purchased an app called call custom launcher icons. it has lots of icons though repeated in diffrent colors. It has some custom drawers too. all i did was long press on the icon i wanted to change (on the app drawer) then when next pop up asking what i wanted to change i pressed icon pic. then it asked where I wanted to look for it I chose the custom launcher icons and scrolled through the icons till i found the one i wanted to use, pressed it and after a few seconds i had a custom icon on the app drawer.
I'm pretty sure I have that app as well and it doesn't work like that!!!

Did you ever figure out the answer to this? I can change icons on homescreen but not in the drawer. What am I missing? Thanks. -GEF
So after the gingerbread update (using stock motorola battery) I get an icon to the right of the battery icon that looks like a vertical hollow battery with a checkmark...anyone know what that is for and what makes it appear or disappear?
Its the alarm.

Well now I feel stupid.
There's this red line on top of my phone that goes from left or right about halfway, I just installed the foxhound rom with nova launcher. Is that what's causing the problem?

does it stay there when using other launchers/playing a game?
if so it's a hardware issue.
No, when a game uses full screen it isn't there, but in a video like the top bar turns horizontal, it's now in horizontal position,

Is it possible it's some kind of a battery level display? Put it on charge and see if the line moves.
hmm , it actually is, how do i actually remove it ?

There should be an option in your settings. It's called the battery bar. It's in the same place you change the battery style

Is there any apps that do this? I know that the Galaxy S3 does, but can any android phone do this? Thanks for the help!

Any free apps like that or anyway to get that for free? I don't have a way to pay for that yet.

This is the free app
[EDIT] And this app doesn't even require root access unless you want to disable the stock status bar completely

But to get the brightness widget you have to have premium.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I577 using xda app-developers app
You can adjust the brightness by sliding your finger on the statusbar in CM9, CM10 and other ROM's. Enable it in the statusbar settings (CM9/10), and disable automatic brightness.

Anyone have any idea if there is any mods to have status bar toggles ?? Not sure if its possible on sense based ROM but maybe a flashable status bar tweak to enable toggles.
Its not a mod but try notification toggles in the play store it has some nice features where you change icons I like it and it does the job for me

Or you can try widgetsoid.

This one allows you to set its priority lower so the status bar icon doesn't display. Its the best one I've found so far and its free!

+1 here for notification toggle. I've tried most of the apps out there for this and this one is the best by far.
Instead of setting the priority lower you can also use a transparent status bar icon...
