Is there any concern about the effect of magnetic case closures on the screen and maybe the gps or compass?
I got one from Casecrown with 3 magnet bar on top of it, magnets are quite strong and sure do interfere with TF magnetic sensor.

Hi All,
I was trying to look for a belt holster with a magnetic lock.
I went to a shop for some generic holsters with magnetic locks, but then the sales clerk told me that magnets are not good for phones.
I've had some holsters before with magnetic locks with my Tytn II and I had no problem. Considering the magnetic compass that the hero has, I was thingking would this be a problem with the Hero?
I would avoid a magnetic clasp if possible, they *do* screw up phones (personal experience).
Blackberry holsters have had magnets in them for years, and the phone is designed to detect them and send the phone to sleep when it its holster - which is pretty cool.
I got a case of ebay which is pretty good, which has a magnetic "clasp" to hold it shut. My only complaint is that the belt loops aren't designed for belts much more than say an inch and a half in width.

Hi guys.
I bought a MediaPad folio case that from SIKAI(HK company?)
It's really nice.
Thin, light and fit size.
The cover has magnet for stick close.
It is like iPad's Smart cover.
But I found a problem.
That magnet makes E-Compass wrong.
And too much near to top speaker and bottom mic.
Here's my question.
Is it comes serious problem when I use this case with magnet?
eg. Will E-compass damaged, mic and speaker damaged by magnet?
Don't have a real answer here other than I wouldn't want a case with a magnet like that.
I bought and modified a rooCase designed for Samsung 7" tab for my Mediapad, and found magnets in it. I removed them with an exacto knife.
can you post a photo ?
Just thought I'd share my setup... Not the most sophisticated, but works super well.
Those are three small magnets glued under the plastic at the top & a piece of steel plate in the case.
The charger bought here: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Each...d=1431530158&sr=1-9&keywords=wireless+charger
I made the bottom lip out of this: http://www.amazon.com/Clipper-Car-M...842&sr=8-11&keywords=universal+grip+car+mount

Wow that's a really tight setup. Nice. Have the magnets affected the screen on/off magnetic detection that the phone has for folio cases? How have they held up while driving?
I ask because people in the airdock thread are saying the N6 falls off a lot and messes with the magnet sensor. Seems like you've got a strong enough setup though.
No, the magnets do not affect that function at all as they are far away enough from the middle.
Yes, there's a lot of pull from the magnets and not even a shake during driving. The phone holds very firmly in place. It even seems like overkill to have used 3 of them.
This is my video about the Qifull wireless car charger dock. ...

anyone see a qi enabled mount that plugs straight into the 5v socket?
i have scoured the web and didnt find any.. not even 1.
thanks
So I picked up a Spigen folio case for my Nexus 6 and was disappointed that it didn't come with a magnet in the cover for lock/unlock. Anyone mod their case to add a magnet or know of a magnet that's strong enough (and thin enough) but won't lock the screen when you put the door flush against the back? I'm thinking of buying a crappy $5 case off Amazon and just ripping out the magnet but thought I'd ask here for input. Thanks!

I've modded my vertical belt case. Thin neodymium magnets fixed at the outside (Superglue)
Screen swtchess off went N6 is in the case.
But when moving/walking the screen turned sometimes on. Causing battery drain.
Yeah neodymium are going to be way too strong unless its really small.
I have the same case having an additional magnet in the cover may ruin the cards sitting right behind them
My wife had a Moto G5 Plus which served her well. She loves folio cases, and I got her a Maikezi Folio case for it (I have seen this budget case under many different names). It was perfect, as the fingerprint sensor was on the front of the phone.
Last week she got her Moto wet and it died, so I got her a Nokia 6 (6.1? 2018) as a replacement. She is a creature of habit, so I got her the same type of folio case on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079C29K1S).
The cutout for the fingerprint sensor is the *exact* circumference of the fingerprint sensor. What the manufacturer/designer didn't allow for was the thickness of the TPU case and the leather backing. As such, your finger doesn't really reach the sensor unless you are really jamming on it, and even then, usually you get a bad read because such a small amount of fingertip actually makes contact with the sensor. So they should have enlarged the fingerprint cutout to allow access. I'm returning the case.
I bought this flip case from Amazon (RUIHUI Leather Wallet Folding Flip Protective Case Cover with Card Slots,Kick) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D3XK46V , I bought the "Classic" one, and it is really nice, it fits well, the fingerprint sensor is a little bit recessed but perfectly usable, and there is a groove to better access the hole. I never missed an unlock with it or got a partial read. The magnetic flip holds very well too.
I am using it with a tempered glass screen protector and there is no problem on the border of the phone.
