Hi,
I am currently in contact with HTC after filing a complaint about the pen causing scratches on the screen.
They just mailed me that was impossible, and told me I was probably using the wrong side of the pen (.....)
I am curious if any of you experienced the same problem, I'll email them.the link to this topic so they can see it for themselves, instead of them calling me a moron
Thanks in advance,
Micha

HTC Flyer / Tapatalk
Thnks sci, I guess my forum search skills fail
I scanned all the forums before purchasing mine, there is another case awhile back where the pen chipped the screen. Tablet and pen were sent to HTC, they were able to reproduce the problem and covered it under warranty. Overnighted a new one.

I put the Zagg invisible shield on mine and pen still works fine. I put the full coverage on. It was like 30 bucks at zagg.com. They installed it at the corporate office here in Utah! My pen works fine and no problems with screen, best of all it stays protected!

It is probably due to limited space that the Flyer does not have a slot to insert the pen. They will probably give you a case with the device to hold the pen. However, this would make it a little too bulky to put the device inside a jacket pocket.
So I guess that it would not take long before you misplaced the pen.
If you lose it, you shouldn't own it
I'm sure there will be a case with the flyer which will have a slot for the pen, or the pen will at least have a clip on it.
I would lose it in a month because my kids would do something silly with like let it fall in the couch. My kids like to play with my Android devices and I love them so I can't deny them lol.

So I am correct in saying that the stylus is not going to slot into the Flyer like say the Touch Diamond? If not that is really big design flaw from HTC. The Diamond has (from what I have seen) the best way to store the stylus via magnets and into the body. Hope they are not expensive, can see myself losing it in and around the house and at work...
You would think they would make a case for it so you have a slot to hold the pen when your not using it

Don't know, unfortunately. The HTC guy just said something along the lines of
"like those cases over there"
...but they never actually went 'over there' during the interview
One of the official folio cases has an external pocket for the pen. Personally I would prefer an internal pen loop.

Got my flyer today. Inside the package I've found a white leather pouch case with magnetic flap on top and an external pocket(ring of leather) for pen housing.
Well it looks like HTC pulled the plug on the kickstand case. I had one ordered and just got this email:
This email is to confirm that the official HTC Kickstand case for the HTC EVO 3D will NOT be released by HTC. Due to an unknown cause HTC has pulled the kickstand from production. If you have a pending order with HTCPedia Shop we would like to offer you similar kickstand cases for your EVO 3D.*Please reply back to this email ff you would like to substitue your order with any of the kickstand cases listed below of if you prefer to cancel your order. We apologize for any inconvenience as this was outside of our hands.

Mine order and everyone else's was canceled.
I'm waiting for the seidio surface kickstand case. I've had nothing but good luck with seidio, rocked their cases on my Touch Pro 2, Hero, OG Evo, Epic, Evo Shift, and Nexus S with absolutely no problem.

Don't get it...I had it and although the case is decent but bulky, the kickstand is flimsy. If you really want it, just go to BestBuy, it's just rebadged as Platinum..same case.
You could take a look at the case mate pop. Is pretty nice. There is a thread here about it with pics and everything. I have the black and grey one but I don't use it because it is way too tight on the phone. If I had to take it off for any reason it would rip the back cover off with it. That worried me so I stopped using it. I might sell you mine for cheap if you want it. PM me if you think you might want it.

Its aight, I think I like it better than my EVO 3d, we just need some ASOP then it'll be perfect. It is a sexy phone I'll give it that.
ive got another pro for you well its a pro fro me...
i was wondering why the corners are at the 45 degree cuts, then i held an evo again today and i thought to myself "why in the heck is the phones corner jabbin into my palm?!"
when you hold a photon, the slanted corners allow more surface contact to the palm of your hand, so its more comfortable and easier to hold. it all adds up now in my mind lol
If you want real joy to hold get the Otterbox defender. Although a little bit of a lint magnet, the soft gel exterior is supremely comfortable as well as super protective.

Agree... and definitely better than the evo 3d.
Hadn't thought about it but its so true

I don't have the creak at all, I find that the back plate is very, very firm and much quieter than the Evo I used to have as well as the 3d. I do however have the Otterbox Commuter case and it is simply amazing! The defender is way to bulky and really is only needed for construction workers and the like. But if you so desire big and bulky, it is perfect for you ;-) . The commuter with an Invisibleshield is perfect for me.

Update just in case you want to ask for this. Just got off the phone with a Motorola rep and told her about the creaky battery door issue and asked her if they could send me a replacement door because I didn't want to exchange my whole phone for that and she said no problem. She said since im still in my first year of warranty there would be no charge and no questions asked per se. She recorded my serial number and verified my address and said fed ex should have it to me in a few days. One more thing I could understand every word she said no outsourced phone center here. Great customer service!

Wasn't the same as my last Motorola experience, I had to jump ship from t-mobile because moto briqed my cliq, moto blamed t-mobile and t-mobile blamed moto insurance wouldn't replace,,and I was left without a phone. I hope this time around I wont have to deal.with that again. Im sure Sprint will take care of me.
Maybe since Google bought them out customer service will hopefully improve maybe? Just a thought.

For me the pen was an important part of the decision to buy the Flyer and one of the key features that I use everyday. I'm just curious how important the pen is to other Flyer owners.
When you pick up your Flyer is the pen:
An indispensable part of the experience
It's useful but it’s not a major factor
You think it’s a novelty or you seldom use it
You never use it
You don't own a pen
Never bothered to purchase one. I thought I would eventually, but I missed a few of the sales and ultimately convinced myself I didn't need it.

The pen brings a great amountof accuracy. Most of the web site still built for a mouse and keyboard experiance. The pen provides a great bridge between touch and mouse
Use it everyday.
Flyer on HC the pen is superfantastic. I use it everyday in class for note taking, if I did not have to take notes I would not use it. Personally I like the Sketch Pads textured back grounds for notes I tried every writing app except the Lenovo ported one(Can't get it to work) The HTC pen gives me four different width lines just by using pressure!
Have one, don't use it much but nice to have

Any tips wowould be appreciated

I bought honeybar to have more writing room in PDF editor.
Unfortunately, as soon as the pen hits the screen, either a gray bar appears where the status bar should be, or the extended application remains and anything I write becomes translated/distorted by the fixed distance of the honeybar
The pen was the reason I bought the Flyer for meeting notes. Integration with Evernote is superb. If I had to replace may Flyer I would need to buy the same again.
Using a case off EBay from Yoobao which has a silo in the spine which is spring loaded and makes storing and using the pen simple.

Love my pen I can sign documents in email. Also scribble a lot on blueprints a forms.

Turn the tablet upside down. Silly but would work.
Pretty interesting so far.
It looks like the pen is useful to around 60% of users who have responded up to this point. Based on the responses in the thread I'm guessing these are mostly students or business users who use their flyer for note taking or similar tasks.
If that trend continues it would seem to be significant for those cooking cool new ROMs. I'm looking at you Virtuous
Count me in as one who likes the pen also, especially on HC.

The digitizer only works with the pen. Try it out and youll never want to go back
Ever since the upgrade to 3.2 I've found myself using the pen as my primary input source... While on 2.3 I just left the pen in my school bag and never used it... I love the pen now that it is actually useful...
I posted in general but no one is answering so I'll try here too. I am looking for a replacement part for my Evo View 4G. It is the grey flex cable/ribbon that connects the display to the board. I only found one website that has is but the seller doesn't have a price up or is answering my emails.
It doesn't matter if it's for the HTC flyer or the Evo View 4G, as both parts are interchangeable (I installed an HTC Flyer digitizer into an EVO View 4G and it works).
Maybe someone has a dead tablet for parts or something I'll pay for the part and shipping. I just don't want this tablet to go to waste.
