Any of you guys able to spoof your wifi MAC on your E3D?
I haven't personally tried, but I'm sure it's possible.
I know that in BackTrack linux, there's a utility that you can use to spoof your mac address, macchanger. Evo 3D is droid base = linux, so you just need to have that utility onto the phone and u r good to go.
Sounds ez enough..make it happen!..;-)..

I have searched for this all over and I know it's unlikely, but is there anyway to set up some form of remote desktop on the HD2 to control a Mac rather than a PC?
You could try RealVNC
Mobile client:
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Communications/VNC-Viewer-8718.shtml
Mac Client/Server:
http://www.realvnc.com/cgi-bin/purchase.cgi (costs about $50 though as you need the enterprise edition for mac support!)
[EDIT] Sorry, posted in wrong thread [/EDIT]
Hello
I have just bought a Samsung Ace connected to the British 'Virgin Media' network.
At home I have a small network of two computers (Windows 7 Home premium) and an Iomega NAS device. One computer and the NAS device are wired to the router while one computer is wireless (Laptop).
I can also connect to my NAS via friends computers over the internet. Nothing exciting there as both Windows and Iomega make it quite idiot proof for me to achieve this.
My question is, can I connect my Samsung Ace to my network and share files with my Window's 7 computers and my NAS device?
Cheers
You can try to use some app for samba sharing, like this one https://market.android.com/details?id=lysesoft.andsmb and connect to your local NAS.
I used to have a NAS server based on FreeNAS and this app worked for me.
Also, try an FTP client if you prefer. I'm hoping to get my QNAP turbo NAS soon!

Try totalcommander for android.
From http://ghisler.com its a free app but not on the market atm.

Sorry to be a nusence, but I'm a bit of a thickie. I've used Samba before when connecting a Linux operating system to my Windows computer with some success because everything was done for me.
I would like to mention that my version of Galaxy Ace comes with an app called AllShare which gives me limited access to shared folders on both my NAS box and my other two computers. I do not input any information yet I can gain limited access to my data.
At the moment when I install and run Ambsmb I am presented with a lot of questions and I do not know where to find the information. To an experienced network administrator these questions are a no brainer but to me, I'm confused.
What makes it all the more harder is that my NAS runs its own version of Linux, which I have never so far been able to connect with when using a Linux distro such as Mint or Ubuntu.
The questions that I am asked are:
Host name
user name
password
domain
Port
WINS srv
Bdcast address
LMHosts
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
Cheers

I'm using ubuntu, you need to know the NAS IP address (or router IP) then use it to connect to server (you must choose the windows shares option) ubuntu then asks for username and password automatically, and its about the same with AndSMB, fill in the IP address, username and password, that's all.
Dont forget smb kernel module on your ace. Afaik stock rom kernel doesnt contain smb module.

smb or windows shares are working fine here on my ACE with stock 2.3.6 rom.
Just been wondering, cause I've tried it before but with no success, is it possible to create a virtual private network between your home computer/wlan to your android phone?
The main reason I would be interested in doing this is to possibly access my media collection on my home laptop via the HTC media player's ability to stream from a shared computer on the same wireless network, or to use splashtop2 vnc to access my actual computer from a remote location.
Has anyone tried this? With something like Hamachi ?

The Answer is YES...
I've had openVPN running on all of my android devices with no problem, I can access anything from my Network via VPN. If you need some help I can point you in the right direction.
I'd love some. Been trying to figure it out but been to busy to find the right research. Thx

How would I go about using OpenVPN with Hamachi? I could use "Private Tunnel" but it only allows 100mb with a free account :/
Add me, please, to the list of those who'd love your experience. My prior employer used a Cisco VPN client which I could never get working properly. Now, my needs are exactly those of the OPer. I have Win7 at home, on a PC running all the time, and I'd love to link my DNA.
So, any insight based on your experience would be great. Thanks!
OpenVPN Windows 7 Android Config
I've been coding for eight hours today, so I'll try to explain as much as possible tonight and will continue tomorrow if need be...
1. So obviously you need a static IP, if you don't have one yet set one up with no-ip or change-ip or whatever you prefer
2. Download and install this straight to C:\ directory.... trust me it is just easier this way:http://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/releases/openvpn-2.2.2-install.exe <--- This is an older version but I've found it to be most stable
3.Create a simple text file in the config folder of the OpenVPN server eg. C:\OpenVPN\config
and paste this into it:
## server.ovpn ##
port 1194 # This is the standard openVPN port, you may change it just make sure open it up in you firewall and forward the port
proto udp
dev tun
ca ca.crt
cert server.crt
key server.key # This file should be kept secret
dh dh1024.pem
server 10.20.1.0 255.255.255.0 #If you use this IP, your host machine will take the virtual IP of 10.20.1.1
ifconfig-pool-persist ipp.txt
push "dhcp-option DNS 10.20.0.1" #change these to match your setup
push "dhcp-option WINS 10.20.0.1" #this too
keepalive 10 120
comp-lzo
max-clients 3 # The maximum number of concurrently connected clients we want to allow.
persist-key
persist-tun
status openvpn-status.log
verb 3
4.save that text file with an .opvn extension
Sorry guys I'm done for the night... I'll try to help you out some more tomorrow.
openvpn
require root
Hello my friends. I work in a site on internet. When I work on windows 7, before opening the browser firefox, I must open the program DUC which I have downloaded from http://www.noip.com/. Also I have a hostname (something).no-ip.org
I am wondering, how can I do it in my desire x? I have installed the apps Dynamic DNS, Dynamic DNS Update, DynDNS Client and DynDnsUpdater, but I cannnot understand well. Any help? Thank you.
It depends on my connection? Wi-Fi or 3G?
Isnt their a Tor Browser for Android or is Not the Same thing? You could also try Proxy apps
Sent from my HTC Desire X using Tapatalk 2
what exactly do you want to do?? browse with changed ip from proxies?
I do not know what exactly I want to do. When I work on mozilla firefox in windows 7, it is necessary to have opened the program DUC which I have downloaded from here: http://www.noip.com/. Yes, I think it changes the ip, but firstly it is necessary to give my hostname.
So, before I work on opera mobile in my desire x, it is necessary to do something similar. It is necessary to find a program which will change my ip (firstly it must take my hostname). Regardless of my connection (wifi - 3G - 4G).
Any ideas? I believe it is called Dynamic DNS. Thank you.
Is this possible? Anyone try/use it with this phone?
Will this do--->http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
Anything better? I'm running Linux on my computer.
[email protected] and android screen cast can only allow you to SEE what you are doing on the phone, meaning you can't interact with it.
Droid VNC server and teamviewer quick support are the two best ones that can do what you are asking for.
