Help with GPS on HTC TP (Bell)

I know the answer is maybe in threads within this forum, but i've used search to find all threads talking about "Bell" and come out with threads to FLASH, or use Roms to customize UI etc..
All i want is to activate the GPS on my HTC Touch Pro (Bell), i'm happy with the look/themes of the cell phone, i'm just wondering on how to use GPS with Google Maps, Garmin XT or TomTom 7 without paying the 10$/month extra..
If someone can show me the steps to follow, his help will be much appreciated.
** I Unlocked my phone. And changed my radio version from Bell 1.04.02V to Telus 1.04.05V.
Thanks in advance!

You need to change the GPSOne Settings with QPST when the Phone is in DM Mode

[Q] No cell tower location

Hi everyone,
I'm currently using the AOSP 2.2 Beta 4 ROM on my X10 and for whatever reason, I cannot get my location unless I have a GPS signal.
I have searched for this issue but no-one else seems to have it! Location & privacy settings are correct and no joy.
I would post this in the Developers thread but it's my first post and I'm not allowed to!
Some help here would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

[Q] Problems with Sygic (navigation).

I purchased Sygic a few months ago and at first it worked pretty good. However recently I am getting / experiencing more and more problems with this navigation program.
The problem is, whenever I start Sygic it says it's loading and then throws me back to the main screen. :S
I recently installed the Aura ROM, but this didn't fix anything.
Maybe uninstalling and removing all the configuration files would fix my problem. I understand how to uninstall, however I don't know where the configuration files are stored.
Anyone care to help or is experiencing the same problem?
Hi there!
I'm having the same issue, using ΠCrust ROM, which is based in ATT's ROM. I check into the Sygic forums, and it appears to be a bug with this ROM version. I posted for support in the forum, as in the begining, the aplication was having problems with OpenGL also. The lastest version resolvs the OpenGL problems, but this Open and ForceClose issue is still present.
Here's the link were the issue was originally reported:
http://support.sygic.com/sygic/topics/crash_on_motorola_atrix_2_3
For the FC, there's a work around, it seems it conflicts in some way with the GPS. So to start Sygic you will have to:
1. Disable GPS in the phone
2. Open Sygic, it will ask you to activate the GPS showing a dialog, click settings, activate the GPS and select back
3. Sygic will open normally
Hope it helps at least for you to use the application.
Thanks for the tips. I am on CM7 and have been experiencing the same things.

How can I find out what it turning off my data?

Hi all,
I am looking for some way, either via an app or some kind of log, that will help me pinpoint what exactly is causing my data to keep turning off at random.
I'm guessing, rightly or wrongly, that this is an app playing silly buggers in the background, but I'd like some way of finding out. I imagine that there is some facility that can record what is happening to every aspect of the phone, and can tell me what is turning off the data and why.
Cheers.
Indecently, I posted this thread in this forum as I presume the answer will require some form of software. If this is in the wrong place I'd appreciate if the mods can move it.
Well take the following steps
1. check data sleep policy - one of the options keeps data active only when phone awake. Solution is to put to always on.
2. Check network signal. If it is low it may drop at random and it ain't your phone the guilty one. Solution is to get to an area with more data coverage.
3. Are you using a custom Rom, kernel or radio? They could be buggy and cause the issue. Solution is to get a stable software.
4. See installed apps and check permissions. You may try to remove all and install one by one to see if any is causing an issue. If you find the guilty app just delete and never install again. Or just modify its settings if any are available.
That should fix your issues.

Hi buddy,
First of all, you have two types of GPS built in the rom, Full-gps and A-gps.
Full-GPS is receiving their signal from satellites, which will give you the exact location but isn't working indoors.
A-GPS is receiving their signal from cell-towers, which will give you a location within 300 meters.
So my suggestion is to try another navigation program or something simular and see if that will gave you the same issue, if it will give you the same issue contact a Nokia Care Point your motherboard is proberly broken.
Greetz,
