I am not sure what you are asking... what does rebooting have to do with changing themes?
I'm guessing he wants to reinstall the stock rom

i deleted my mms.apk and odex trying to use chompSMS instead of the vibrant stock mms. now i can't receive any text messages. Can anyone please show me where i can get the mms apk and odex files
I tried restoring my backed up MMS.APK in the sd/am folder but it doesn't install. its says "application not installed" could they be corrupt?
Any help will be appreciated. thank you.
Why would you delete the MMS.apk instead of just making ChompSMS the default messaging app and hiding the messaging icon?
Do you use Titanium Backup? If not you should start. Let me see if I can find the MMS.apk around. You probably can find it too if you searched around.
Otherwise I would just ODIN back to JFD. You know what ODIN is right?
Edit: Actually, search is disabled right now.. So I'll try later. Seriously, why did you delete MMS.apk LOL.
here
here are the apk next time shouldnt delete them its bad juju
thank you. does anyone know the steps to ODIN back to jfd? the apk still wont install

You can follow this guide:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...r-vibrant-and-return-to-stock-phone-pc-error/
It is very thorough. It seems like a lot but it is actually quite simple. Just read it and soak it all in. I use ODIN a lot and once you are use to it, it is as simple as a couple mouse clicks.
I need someone who has a copy of the RyanZaOCLF apk with the root option still on it to send it to me please. Or post a link i can download it from PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! My Vibrant was rooted and all hacked out but then it was stolen and now i cant get this new one rooted by any means, and unfortunately the root option has been removed from the market so im stuck and cannot root or flash. Help me!

Is the update.zip on the root of your internal SD card as the instructions state? Make sure of that. I know that works on 2.1, I have used it many times. And there should be no need for several different downloads... just use the download from the link I posted. Rename the download to update.zip (make sure it's not renamed to update.zip.zip.
I had an epifany and went to 4shared'com, DL'd an older version of the OCLF app and rooted with no prob in 5 mins. But tganks for the help and info everyone

You can find the corresponding ogg files on your phone in /system/media/audio/notifications/
But you have to browse into the root of your phone's filesystem, so use a Root Explorer or similar (I am using ES Datei-Explorer on a rooted phone).
Thanks for the quick reply, but...it isn't possible without root access? I have been explicitly forbidden to root my phone by my boss :S

Depends on what you want to do.
If you want to modify, change or delete them, then you need root.
If you only want to read or play them, then you do not need root.
Goto Settings menu => Sounds => Notifications.
I guess that this is not what you want.
Without root, it is not so easy to access these system files.
P.S.: Does your boss allow a temporarily rooting?
You can root your phone, access the notification files, and un-root your phone again.
Here is a good description on how to root your phone => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Have a look at the first post where it is written "Quick Root Guide".
Unrooting will be done with flashing back the stock kernel.
I'll try the quick root guide. Tbh, my mom wanted my sms notification sound (yeah, I'm 37. Yeah, I still try to please my mom. Yeah, get over it hehe )
Worked like a charm. Thanks

The provided instructions only provide a "TEMP" root. but hey, we are one step closer now.
When you reboot your ZTE Savvy you will lose root.
At least I can get rid of some bloatware.
Savvy temp root is a joke. Its a start but in to way did it help me. I can't get any of the bloat removed I maybe doing something wrong.
I lose root before reboot. Lasts about five minutes maybe longer. If I can't have full root to get fancy ROMs that is cool but would so live to remove some of the trash they install on here. Any help would be awesome.
A list of some of the apps that I can remove and how to do so would be super. I've tried es file to remove from system app folder won't allow me. Also tried titanium backup.
Titanium says it deleted but it is all still in app drawer just force closes the app I tried to deleted if I try to open it.
Then i lose root before I reboot. Once I reboot all the apps that I deleted come right back fully working. I'm stumped and hate the junk they put on here my phone says system memory is full and I have downloaded like 5 apps the rest is there trash.

There are not even any roms available. not even clockwork mod recovery to install the roms. if you install an incompatible rom its likely it will brick your Savvy. Though I would like to remove the old zte launcher for the digital cookies stock jellybean launcher. it is much faster and makes the whole system faster considering this is a low end spec'd phone.

Do you have the zip file of the ROM that you put on your phone? If so, you can edit the zip file using 7zip (find the apps folder) and flash that, making sure that the signature verify is turned off. This is how I used to do it on my phone, but have recently updated to using 4Ext and still finding my way around this app, but it's got app removal built in (I think).
Hope this helps :good:

Not at all, we all have to start somewhere. I'm not particularly technical myself so I will try and help as much as I can.
When you say you have rooted your phone, have you also install a custom ROM on your phone as well? To do this, you should have had a zip file that you used to flash the ROM to the phone.
I would create a copy of the ZIP file, in case you go wrong. Open up the ZIP file using 7zip (or something similar, I suggested this one as I know you can delete files from the zip file, but some other programs won't do this).
You show see two folders, click on system and then click on the app folder. You need to be careful in what you delete as it might force the phone to crash out (hence make a copy of the ZIP file, and have both of them on your phone). Simply delete the apps you don't want and then save and flash the ROM on your phone (you will need to turn off signature verify for it to work, but I'm not sure where there will be in your menu's as I don't know what recovery you are using, it's normally under "other").
Does this make anything more clearer?
If not, please explain exactly what you have done in terms of rooting and flashing a ROM.

In order to understand what it is that you want to archive, could you please tell me why you rooted your phone?
I ask as, unless you have a copy of the stock ROM, once you have flashed a ROM, you won't be able to go back to the original ROM. If you are happy to go ahead, I suggest you look around for ROM's that will work on your phone. Depending on what you want from a ROM (small size, quick loading or lots of gadgets and tweaks), you should be able to find one already working to how you would like. Some ROM's do not have any Google apps or YouTube and only have basic apps to run the phone (I had a ROM call Redux that was like this), other ROM's have many features (I've had a ROM called MIUI that was like this). If you find a ROM you like, it is better to leave the apps as they are.
I can try and help you with how to flash the ROM if you get stuck, but I did not use the superoneclick way.
As I said first, why do you want to remove apps?

Hmmmmmm, there are other things you could try if you are having issues with your phone.
I have an app called Autostarts and you can stop apps from booting when the phone is restarted or when other things happen (like a change in signal).
I also have another app called Battery Mix which is very good at finding out what apps are running and draining the battery or taking up CPU usage.
I also have another app called Quick System Info which you can set up so that when you click end tasks, it only ends tasks that you've selected (you put them on a supervise list), which is very handy if you have things like 3G monitoring or clocks that might crash if you kill them.
Maybe you need to root the phone in a different way. Try reading this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861790
I know someone who has tried a method similar to yours and had issues, whereas I've rooted and even s-off (I have a HTC desire and s-off (sense off) is a security feature on that.
You could try this

Or this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767975 (this might not be Gingerbread but the features between each one aren't that noticable, but this ROM might make your phone run faster, as I said before, you need to think about what you want from the phone, speed or gadgets)
