Poweramp becomes laggy when skipping songs on my new class 10 card. My speeds are high on the card because I tested it with sdtools yesterday and today. I don't know if its because I have 2000 songs now, or because my songs are in album folders, then those folders being in artist folders.
I have my folders like that but I only have 631 songs class 4 16 gig card no problems

I had a class 4 16gb also with 900 songs but now I have 2000 songs in albums folder and those in artists folders. On my class 4, they were just dragged regularly but now I decided to drag my itunes library as is.
Yup, problem solved. My music was seperated into way too many folders. I moved everything to one folder and sorted by album on windows and running smoothly.

Can someone tell how they were able at access their SD card "Removable" from PowerAmp? I have the full version and the release notes say my version supports it. I have asked this question on there support email but its been a week with no reply.

Ok so the Stock music player will not find the music I have on my SD Card for some odd reason. I installed PowerAmp just to check if it was an SD Card issue but that finds and reads the Music just fine so I really have no idea what is going on. Also had this thing installed on my HTC Vivid and the music is found, same with the Atrix 2 I have. So it seems it is just this phone, any ideas would be helpful. So far I have tried UnNamed Rom, Perception, and Lidroid...all three exact same results. Oh yea same with Video's as well. I can explore to them all using a file explorer but they don't show in the stock Video/Music Player, also photos from other phone does not show up in gallery.
That is odd. Mine has never had an issue finding everything.
Use the google market to download a free song. Then throw all your music in that folder and then see if it picks it up.

Did you accidentally add a .nomedia file somewhere on the SD card?
I've had that happen before on the Infuse.
Just checked and there is no .nomedia file anywhere on the card and I also had just gotten done reformatting the card and moving files back to the card.

Just did that and the irony is that it did add it to the google music player but not to the stock music player...Nothing is showing in the Stock Music player. It is also randomly does Media Scanning. I am starting to wonder if the actual SD Reader is out of the box busted. I bought this thing through Amazon, can I just take it to an AT&T store and get a replacement through them or should I go directly through Samsung or am I stuck requesting a new phone from Amazon?
I was able to get the music noticed but I had to move it to the Internal Memory...Not the solution I need but works temporarily unless anyone has any better ideas.
Just figured out how to find out if it is hardware or software related...Gonna flash Miui and if it still has issues than it is most def. hardware considering this card works perfectly fine in the 4 other phones I have.
Well that pretty much just confirmed my suspicions of the card reader having issues considering it is doing the same exact thing in Miui Rom that is using a totally different Stock Music Player. Now I get to have the fun of figuring out where and how to get a new one.
So new information that i thought i ought to share for anyone having issues like this. i had a bunch of backup apks on the card and some where down the line one of them got corrupted so for some reason this phone pickes up on it when all the others would just skip it and continue scanning for media this one stopped. so if you run into this issue try deleting your backed up apps or before doing that back them up to your pc than bring them back 1 by 1 until you find the culprit.
I'll update my album art and all the albums will come up. But whenever I make a change like put a new boot animation, change battery icon or whatever the album art resets. I've literally had to update it 6 times in the past 2 days because I kept wanting to change something. Is there anyway to keep it on? I have all my music on my sd card so I figured changes on my system wouldn't affect the music on my sd card. Any ideas how to keep it?
Thanks.

I've actually noticed this too.
I'll go one step further and tell you that I was listening to Limp Bizkit and the album art for Pink Floyd was showing. Annoying.
What? I like all different types of music! Big whoop! Wanna fight about it?
I use the default music player. And yeah like binary was saying it's annoying. I didn't know Black Sabbath had a Jay-Z album cover. Also there is one album with santana on it that is on pretty much everyone odd song I have.
I've discovered you need to create a folder for every artist/album. I just imported my music in iTunes (yuck), deleted my music folder on the SD card, and copied the new music into a folder for music. If you go this route, make sure 'keep itunes media folder organized' is checked under 'preferences' and 'advanced'.
This has fixed the problem for me. Every artist before this was Michael Jackson. It drove me insane!

So I uploaded my music to a music folder on the SD card and now when I open Poweramp I have a duplicate for every song? One is from the proper music folder and the other is on /mnt/sdcard/ext_sd/music. MY question is why did uploading it to my physical sd card cause it to be place in the ext_sd partion on internal memory? I never had this issue on my og evo/poweramp and I am not sure what to make of it has anyone else seen this?
The ext_sd and sdcard2 are one in the same. the ext_sd folder isn't really on your internal memory, it's basically a shortcut to the sdcard2 folder. Some apps like poweramp could see it as being two seperate folders. There may be an option to exclude, or only include certain folders? I haven't used poweramp in quite some time.

Ok that is what I thought at first but seeing 2 files in 2 locations had me second guessing myself. Yes I was able to exclude one of the folders no problem I just wanted to make sure it was not actually occupying 2 locations wasting space. Thank you very much
Btw hshshawn, while we're on the subject of poweramp and external sd card, I have a question. When I transfered all of my music to my external SD card (12 gb in total), poweramp took forever indexing the new music and frequently crashed while I was trying to search through songs/albums. Are you having similar problems or any problems at all with poweramp?

Hmm no I have not noticed anything along those lines I have 3 gigs uploaded to the sd card currently and I have probably around a gig of offline available track from Google Music. After the initial indexing of poweramp I have had no issues with crashing or glitches. I can zip around my library and search it as well, everything is as fast as can be. I don't know if the differences in library size matters, but it should not at one point I had around 17gbs of music on my 3D and Poweramp had no trouble with it? What class is your sd card? I will mess with it for a while and see if I cannot replicate some of your issues but so far none.
Exactly what the title says. I have 1000 MP3's in a Directory called Music on my SD card. The Music app on LTE will not find the MP3's on the SD card. When I cut and paste the MP3's to the Directory called Music on the LTE's memory the Music App will find the songs. I don't want to store all of my music on my phones internal memory.
Worked fine with OG EVO 4G

That is strange, I have all my music in the Micro SD card (ext_sd directory) and both the stock music app and the Poweramp recognize not only my my music but also my playlist's.
Try Poweramp and see what results you may have.
Go into settings and delete the cache/data for the music app that isn't finding the songs. That's what I did and it fixed the same issue I was having with Google music.
I had a similar problem with my EVO View 4G. Try an app in the Play Store called "SDRescan." Let it run overnight while charging.
It could also be that you loaded too much media all at once. I found that when I erased all of Google Currents' data on my tablet, the scan for music completed quickly. What was happening, apparently, is that the tablet was spending so much time scanning the Currents data that it was taking forever to get to the music folder.
Also the most simple but often overlooked thing to do: take the card out and put it back in to force the os to rescan it.

I learned you need to wipe the card using the Settings>Storage options.
Android creates its own folders on the card.
My Photos & Music weren't showing up right at 1st. See the thread I made via my profile for more info on what I did.

This might be an important point, along with how the songs were transferred. If you just loaded a bunch of MP3s to a blank microSD card and put it in the phone, it may have some problems. I formatted the card, put it in the phone, and then used HTC Media Sync to get my MP3s on my phone. They all transferred just fine, and all 526 of my songs show up in the music app.
OP...let us know which of the offered solutions worked for you.
Just a tip, in poweramp there appears to be a shortcut in the internal sd for the external sd which I haven't seen in the other apps I've used but anyway I selected my music folder through the shortcut and it loaded all my music twice, I had to clear the app and scroll pas sd to exsd and select music from there and rescan so it would list the tracks only once
I have tested it in both Stock and CM 13 ..the audio gets breaking in all the music players i have used...(stock music player, power amp , google music)..it doesn't occur too often, in a span of 1 hour it happens like 2 or 3 times...does any one have this problem ....i am using KIW L-22 with CM 13...
Probably a bad track. I have been listening to audio books at home, and I play music in car through my phone. I've never had this problem.
I had it pretty bad on stock, but it's less so on CM13.
Are you playing it from an SD card, or the internal memory?

Could be, transfer the same song to your internal storage and play it from there. Are you having this problem with headphones? Try changing your headphones. Let us know if you were able to find the culprit.
I am using a Class 2 SD which is bottom of the barrel. I have my audiobooks and songs on it and it doesn't stutter.

Mine is a class2 Sandisk, 128gb. Notionally it should be fine.
I've not noticed it when playing tracks from internal storage, but I haven't got a lot there. I'll have a play and see.

Awesome
By the way. I just got this phone yesterday via the Newegg $160 sale. Love the phone. I noticed the same audio stutter and skips. My files are on the SDCard and it's a 633x (95MB/s) from Lexar (64Gb). I was able to eliminate the problems by turning on audio proxy buffering in n7player. Works great. It's using the local micro server to stream the music to the player (on the phone, no data) and there is no more skipping or stutter for mp3s or flacs.
My collection is 40Gb and of course no way to move that to the phone's internal storage.
I had the same issue. Turns out that I formatted my sd card with my phone (fat32). Reformatted with pc to exfat, and now my music plays without stuttering on every music app. I have +100 gb of music, I guess that doesn't work well with fat32 (only foobar2000 could handle it of all the players I tried).
