I have tested it in both Stock and CM 13 ..the audio gets breaking in all the music players i have used...(stock music player, power amp , google music)..it doesn't occur too often, in a span of 1 hour it happens like 2 or 3 times...does any one have this problem ....i am using KIW L-22 with CM 13...
Probably a bad track. I have been listening to audio books at home, and I play music in car through my phone. I've never had this problem.
I had it pretty bad on stock, but it's less so on CM13.
Are you playing it from an SD card, or the internal memory?

Could be, transfer the same song to your internal storage and play it from there. Are you having this problem with headphones? Try changing your headphones. Let us know if you were able to find the culprit.
I am using a Class 2 SD which is bottom of the barrel. I have my audiobooks and songs on it and it doesn't stutter.

Mine is a class2 Sandisk, 128gb. Notionally it should be fine.
I've not noticed it when playing tracks from internal storage, but I haven't got a lot there. I'll have a play and see.

Awesome
By the way. I just got this phone yesterday via the Newegg $160 sale. Love the phone. I noticed the same audio stutter and skips. My files are on the SDCard and it's a 633x (95MB/s) from Lexar (64Gb). I was able to eliminate the problems by turning on audio proxy buffering in n7player. Works great. It's using the local micro server to stream the music to the player (on the phone, no data) and there is no more skipping or stutter for mp3s or flacs.
My collection is 40Gb and of course no way to move that to the phone's internal storage.
I had the same issue. Turns out that I formatted my sd card with my phone (fat32). Reformatted with pc to exfat, and now my music plays without stuttering on every music app. I have +100 gb of music, I guess that doesn't work well with fat32 (only foobar2000 could handle it of all the players I tried).

Does anyone know if HTC Audio Manager lags while it searches the memory card at all? If so is there another player that will not lag as much as HTC's audio manager?

What do you mean it slows down? Like when you open Audio Manager and it searches for music?
It does on mine
I have a 8gb micro SDHC and by the time I was using Audio Manager I could see all the songs, in fact, I didn't have the whole SD card for it, I used most of it, about 5, 6gb and it worked fine. Now I updated to windows mobile 6.5 and i wanna find the Audio Manager for it, but "I still haven't found, what I'm looking for..." (ahhaha, that was a stupid joke, I know!)
where do most people store their music on the rezound? I am trying to see the best and efficient way to store music. Do you use the sim card or sd card.

There's no SIM storage on the Rezound. You might be thinking that the internal SD(phone storage) is SIM storage, but i digress.. For the most part you're better off using the internal SD. More apps recognize music there. However since I started using Google Music, I don't store music on my phone anymore. Everything is streamed from my Google Music account/Pandora/Tune-in.

Same. Google Music is a good alternative + it allows me play on my work computer.

+ 1 - me too. But I've used more than a gig of data three days into my cycle.

I use my SD card that I reorganize about once a month by rounding up songs I pick up here and there and getting them into one folder. It's so much easier to backup, move to another phone, and locate.

Probably never. I use DSP Manager, and I know a lot of people use Volume+ to get the same if not better effects. I like it because the beats DSP isn't customizable and being that it's stuck in the stock player, I never use it anyway. I did notice one weird/cool thing. If you play a song with beats in the stock player and immediately switch to google music or any other audio, of about 15 seconds the beats DSP is still active meaning that beats should be able to run full time, rather than only in stock music.
Beats Audio
Hopefully they will eventually work with some of the major apps like Pandora or Rhapsody. The built-in music player with the iBeats headphones, sound pretty damn incredible.
I've tried seeing if there is any sort of a quality difference between running music from external SD, or internal. I've noticed none in the stock music app, but my card is a sandisk class 4, for what it's worth. Like a previous poster said, some apps need music on internal to function, though. But those are becoming far and few between nowadays. There's always the supposed argument that putting a bunch of stuff on internal storage will slow down your phone though, too.

Are talking only about music apps for playing the music such as PowerAmp? Or is there something else I should know about apps needing to access my music? I have mine on the external and no problems that I know of. Been using both the HTC music app and PowerAmp.
What do you all use for a video player? Anyone know one that can play .mkv files? I'd love to be able to yank a TV show from my NAS and watch it on the subway or something without having to convert or re-download in a different format. Most of my shows are x264 if that helps...
I played around alot with my Evo3D and never could get playback to stop stuttering (can't remember which video player), but I figured this more powerful phone might be able to...

Try DicePlayer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.trial
It worked great for me on my EVO3D, haven't tried it yet on the LTE but it was the best by far for the 3D that I found.
Just downloaded it. Now I'm moving over some content and will try it out soon as I leave work. THANKS!
I'll update with the results later on.
EDIT: OUTSTANDING playback with DicePlayer. 2.2GB episode of Breaking Bad. Thanks so much!

Just curious, were you running your files off internal storage or an sdcard? I tried it off my SD card and actually had stuttering just now. I may just need to reformat and recopy it over.
Internal. Don't have an SD card yet...
Your question gets me to thinking though....it took like 45 minutes to transfer that 2.2Gb file over wireless. Should write speed be slow slow for internal storage?
Shouldn't be that slow but I would venture as to actually pulling out the micro sd card and using a card reader. That's what I always do much faster.
Edit sorry didn't see you had a sd card yet. Wireless itself is somewhat slow but this is flash memory should be fast.

Dice was only one that handled MKV audio for me. Stock player and mx both play 1080p mkv no issue, but without ac3 audio.
I have a 32gb class 10 msd card. Hdmi out worked fine as well with all players barring audio issues with all but dice

Interesting. I'm getting choppy playback on multiple types of .avi files. Anyone else experiencing any issues with DicePlayer? I've tried playing from the sdcard and internal phone storage. It starts stuttering immediately and continues throughout.
Ive been using MX Player with the Decoder setting at "S/W decoder (fast mode)" Works great with subtitles too.

I thought the flash storage would be pretty fast as well....I guess they use the cheap stuff...kinda like a cheap USB stick...it's nowhere near as fast as a high quality SSD...

Hey all
I'm using a 64 GB SD card for my Galaxy S3 so I can have all my music on the phone. Everything works fine except that when I make playlists, they are empty after a phone restart! Happens with every player I tried (Player Pro, Songbird, DoubleTwist, stock Samsung player). This is a big problem for me since with 40 GB of music, playlists are necessary. Now do you think this is a Samsung problem, or SD Card (SanDisk sdxc class 10) or Jelly Bean?
I tried using Spotify since that saves playlists online, but it does not sync with the external sd card. But not being able to save playlists on the phone seems weird, anyway, I should not have to work around it by using a service like Spotify. Also tried moving the music player to the SD Card, but does not seem possible on the S3 (also tried via app to sd).
Any help would be appreciated.
Try using Poweramp. I just tested it, made a playlist and restarted and it worked.
:good: Works for me, too! Thanks! Although it is still a shame that it does not work for all the other players!
I'm having an issue with music playback. About once every song there is a short pause. Only happens when the mp3s are coming from the microsd card (Sandisk Ultra 128gb microsdxc class 10). Playback is smooth from internal memory. Transferring songs from microsd to internal memory transfers at 25mb/s so it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue.
I've tried:
Moving sim card to the other spot
Turning off wifi
Restoring back to stock (I'm running debloat script, no swap, rooted, adaway)
The problem still persists. The microsd came from a moto g 2015 and I did not have this issue with that phone.
Anyone have the same issue or know of a fix?
Uninstalling Facebook messenger worked for me.
Are you using Emui/stock music player? Which player do you use? Are you listening through phone speaker/headphones/Bluetooth? I have not experienced this issue with stock Music app on phone spesker so far.

I'm using Poweramp but have the same issue with Google music. I haven't tried the stock player. Issue happens through Bluetooth, headphones (wired), and phone speaker.
Messenger is not installed. Using Google now launcher.
Almost seems like it runs out of memory because it also happens when I open another app while listening to music.
It seems there are 2 folders added to the sd card, Android and LOST.DIR. Maybe the system is writing to these folders while I listen to music?
I tried a different sd card (Samsung Evo 32GB) and have the same issue. At this point I am assuming I have a defective phone.
