Menu button not working after flashing to 2.3.4 XXKPH - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hey guys, im new here.
i upgraded to gingerbread 2.3.4 and was working perfectly for more than a month with root access.
i loved all the new improvements. then suddenly today, the menu button is not working anymore. i ran a search, and its been suggested that its a problem with the touchwiz firmware.
i have tried updating the firmware from *#*#2663#*#* to no avail.
i have reflashed with 2.3.4 no effect.
tried flashing back to asian 2.2.1 froyo stock rom, still stuck with the same issue.
any ideas?
i tried the sub key test and it doesnt seem to be working for that button.
when i type *#*#2663#*#* this is what i get
tsp phone fw version: 4
tsp IC fw version:6
HW version:1
are these values correct? if nothing works, ill have to take my phone to the service center. will i get my warranty back if i unroot?
Any help welcome
Thanks

If wiping, flashing and all doesn't work it may be hardware problem...
XDA ♥

Its a hardware problem i think. I deleted and uninstalled touchwiz because i dont use it. But until now i dont have the problem same as yours.

lag after updating to 2.3.4

bought my galaxy S II a few days ago, and updated it to 2.3.4 using kies today.
I've noticed that the homescreen is laggy when scrolling now, and it gets better when i change the wallpaper to a live wallpaper, which is kinda odd.
already tried the factory reset and cache, didn't work at all.
also noticed loss of sensibility sometimes,
is this a known issue ? is there any way I could fix this using kies ? like re installing it ?
I have the same problem and had that with 2.3.5 as well.

Try a custom kernel like siyah ;-)
Delivered from my SGS II using xda premium
I was thinking about that, but I don't really know much since this is my first droid (iphone user you know kinda dumb) and I like to leave things as stock cause I don't wanna loose my warranty, maybe if I could get back to the original 2.3.3 and update again to 2.3.4
Go into recovery mode using vol up and home and power and try a reset from there. Also do a format of your internal memory in settings storage.
You could also install the latest stock rom from sammobile.com - doesn't require root.

.. Or 3.0 (2.3.5)
Its basically stock with speed improvements. Enjoy.

[Q] Going back to 2.3.5

Hi! I have the Erygit ROM on my SGP 5.0 (with the physical button in the middle) how can i go back to Android 2.3.5?Can somebody help me?Thank you for your help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444636
See which one of the files fits your device. I think it's the international EU version for you.
thank you. i flashed it but i got into bootloop... tried to go to recovery... in the recovery i got many red lines (errors i think) about cache files or something like that.what should i do now?
Wait hold on I tried to flash Erygits ROM with ODIN but it failed and I soft-bricked it. I don't know what to do, I'm looking for solutions.
Well... Looks like we both need a solution :s

I couldn't get out of my soft-brick. Every thing I did resulted in a FAIL in Odin.
So i reset data and wiped everything and then it just booted.
Unfortunately I lost everything. Luckily I made a back-up, but somehow my contacts were removed from KIES
So i have to back up up everything and after flashing the rom , wipe cache and do a factory reset?

Well I don't know if you had, but I softbricked my player so I did a desperate thing by removing all data and cache. Then it was fine. I still have my music, photo's and video's though and my contacts (google contacts).
But I'm not sure about you. Look for bootloop threads on this forum, maybe you will find help?
I will try to help you too.
well i decided to flash Erygits rom one more time, then it booted i think i'll leave it until ICS is released or CM7 do you have the stock rom on your Player?
Yes I have the stock rom now.
And I think it's a good idea to just leave it untill cm9 comes out.
CM is going to be soooooooooo nice! can't wait to flash it
Do you guys have the INTL, EU or the US version?
You can't mix the ROMs between these ver. (especially the US ver, which is physically different - has capacitive home btn).
If you have a US device, than download this PIT, and this ROM, I installed it and works great, it's a rooted 2.3.6.
Hi!i have the eur version i think... With the physichal button in the middle

I had the same problem, but I did flash root and a custom kernel.
I am not sure which one caused it, but after I flashed CM9 it solved itself.

I went into wireless&Networks > More Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Providers. Let it do its thing and then selected at&t since I'm in the states and boom it worked. Hope this helps.

Like I said in the OP, After doing that it works no problem now. Give it a try. Its like it needs to register with the carrier.

I tried with CM9 and tried choosing the network operation explicitly but no luck.
I bought it only last week so O2 is happy to take it back.
I will get a replacement soon.
Thanks,
Dev

Yes This resolved my problem.
My problem happened when i installed Moddy ROM V11 which will update Modem also. Then i tried flashing different modem still no luck data all works fine. On *#0*# gave no indication of hardware faulty. Then i flashed stock ROM for singapore via odin still on change in status. Then i again tried other modems by rooting again. Finally searched on XDA and this simple trick helped Thanks a ton. :good::victory:

some quick help needed

i recently installed via odin the stock jellybean release rom on my phone along with cfroot and simunlocker.
i have found the stock jellybean rom to have a few too many bugs for my liking and want to go back to stock ics.
I have downloaded the stock ics rom latest release and tried to flash it again using odin in the pda box, it all seems to go fine but then the phone only seems to reboot as far as the samsung logo then stops.
What have i done wrong and how do i fix it please (or should i just be waiting longer for it to boot from the samsung logo?)
thanks
Try boot into recovery and factory reset.

[HELP][MiniPro] Unresponsive Touchscreen Issue!

Hey guys!
From the past week or so ive had this problem with my mini pros touchscreen... It works very well all the time but sometimes when I unlock the fone it takes a 1 second or 2 more than usual to light up and then the screen dosent respond to touch AT ALL this also happens sometimes when I recv a call but cant answer coz the touchscreen dosent respond. This happens like twice in 10 times but m afraid I might damage my phone if I dont do anything about it.
Im pretty sure its a software issue cz when it works it works really welll.. I also found out that I could unlock by simply sliding the hw keyboard open and most of the tim I got the touch back after that... Also once when I was using the hw keyboard the touch stopped responding ..so I closed the keyboard n everything was backk to normal. Most of the time this problem happens when im unlocking the phone :banghead:
Plz tell me what to do!!
Thanks

Hmmmm...it's not a hardware (digitizer) problem but more to your Custom Roms....sometimes touch screen do lag (stop responding) on certain Custom Roms....it's not a big problem cause if you reboot the phone, the problem is fixed (temporarily)....to fix the lag, it required editing the build.prop (adding a few tweaks) but this will not fully fix it....
Yes I totally agreed what Pusak Gaoq said. The problem come when installing some custom rom. The wrong touchscreen driver will mess up your phone. Your phone will load up the driver even wrong touchscreen driver is use. This problem was also happened on some user before. Try nandroid backup and flash stock .ftf firmware.
Thay why I never use any custom rom except CM based rom.

Hmmm...did you ever drop you phone before this???
!!!
All working now
I followed the method from lunatic2nuts.
Here's what I did:
wipe data/cache/system
flash .62 firmware [ST15i_link]
flash custom kernel with recovery
flash hybromV10 without wiping anything (that's what I did)
boot into hybrom, then turn it off, i.e. take the battery out
flash .62 again
I was major surprised that it actually worked since I've tried it already but with factory reset when flashing hybrom.
