Today i just downloaded camera firmware update for my galaxy s2 and it was ok ,nothing happened with update and then i just try to recored video and i did see on the screen Warning recording failed. my phone is not rooted ,original version and ke7.
i can take picture no problem but if want video , i see recording failed.
is there someone with same problem or someone have advise for me?
i didnt reset my phone yet,because of many apps(most of them game).
i hope someone can help me and i am from holland

there was virus in the galaxy s2 and kaspersky deleted it and everything working good now

Hi all,
i have been googleing this for the last week, but i cant find anything on it.
when ever i try and play videos with my stock video player. it keep getting "File has Incorrect data" error with in the first 30 secs of starting the video. i dont want to use a different video player, as i like the stock one. but i cant figure out how to fix this.
i am using a Rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100T running the stock samsung firmware. but i am going to flash a custom rom (CriskellRom V38) as soon as i get time. but i was wondering if the is anyway i can fix the issue on my current rom?

I too have been having a similar problem on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy s2. I purchase the phone used. The previous owner had rooted it before I purchased it. I decided to flash to the SHOstock rom. While this rom is fantastic, I am wondering if it is influencing my video playback. Video seem to record fine, but when I go to the gallery to play them, only the first few seconds will work. Then a popup message appears saying incorrect data.

If the error shows, is there a notification from media scanner in your notification bar. Not sure if this is related to your problem. I had this problem a week ago on my phone. Flashing another kernel resolved it.

For what it's worth, I noticed that if I upload the videos to YouTube from the phone, they will play fine, but they won't play from the phone's gallery itself . So I'm assuming that they are recording fine, but there's an issue with playback.
Same here since a while. Now on stock xwkk2 with Siyah 2.6.12.

Hi, i was not getting a notifaction when they got the error.
i flashed the new leaked ICS (XXLPH) rom on my phone yesterday, and the videos are working fine now.

I'm getting the same error no matter which ROM or kernel I use.
I did have an issue a week ago where the internal SD card wasn't working properly and I got a pop up saying it's corrupted and to format it. Since then I can't play any type of video file, even those I've recorded myself.
Looks like I need to instal stock and reset my counter to send it in for warranty.
Update: Reinstalled ROM with full wipe and the issue seems to be resolved for the time being. I'm unsure why the problem took a week to show up. I'd have thought if there was a problem when flashing I would have noticed sooner.
Hello..I have a SGH-i777 from AT&T..I have rooted the phone and installed ICScrewD v1.4.2 on it..since last 2 days all of a sudden my Camera preview and Youtube videos have stopped working..whenever I switch on the camera..the screen remains black so I have to guess and shoot the photo..also the youtube audio is working..but video is again black..can anyone help me in resolving this matter..pls..Thanks in advance

My Samsung galaxy s 2 in working fine until i started using the camera, recording videos is working fine .
But when i take some photos my phone just stops responding and freeze.
And it won't work unless i restart other again.
I started to hate the phone because of this. And i used to love it.
Please tell me how to fix it .
I can not stop thinking of this issue.

Hi, yesterday I had a same issue but a reverse version: in video mode my camera stops responding and freeze, it was fine in photo mode.
For me, I think it was a camera firmware problem: I had camera firmware version ONEF01 and phone firmware version TBEC28 (you can know firmware version digiting *#34971539# - attention in this menu).
I downgraded camera firmware version to TBEC28 and it works now either in photo and video mode, but I've focus issue now. DAMN!

You have to mention which from you are on to get some solution. Try clearing the cache and data of your camera app from task manager . Also do try some third party app

I have a haipad I9300 mtk 6577 it is an s3 clone. I have root and delete some bloatware. Few days ago the camera start show Black screen and seems freezer... Sometimes shows the message "cannot Connect to camera" and you can't use it. After a lot of try you notice a "click". And then camera start work. I already try every reset and also different camera app no success. Very frustrated I try the 4.2 camera but with the same result. Really need your help or I ll throw this phone away!

No one has an idea? It seems there are some kind of issues with the camera driver. The operating system fail to communicate with the camera. Another strange thing also the Torch app is involved. In fact also the Torch app has problems and sometimes freeze... It is connected of course... My friend has the same phone with camera working, maybe I can copy the "drivers" or other camera Files from his phone to mine? Any idea wich ones?

Hai everyone...I'am a new member of xda,i have a problem with my Samsung n7000. i believe somebody solve this problem...i update my n7000 to cyanogenmod10.1 - 20130616 nightly. its working nice for me. yesterday i try to snap some pictures, but there is no camera option in my device. I try to google for help, but there is no solution i can't found.but when i install other camera software's every think working fine and i can capture photos. but i need original camera option for my device.there is any options for restoring my camera app ? advance thanks to all of you. waiting for your reply...
