Hi all,
I've had my gTab since May, and have been loving it.
I just flashed to Flashback HC last night, and it too is awesome.
However, this morning I was messing around with playing video and suddenly a full horizontal row of pixels went cyan and is stuck.
I thought maybe it was a software glitch, so I did a hard reboot. It's still there.
When I first turn on the screen, the row of pixels is red, then quickly fades to cyan.
It's not super noticeable on the home screen, since my wallpaper is blue, but on any screen with a light background it looks terrible!
Is there anything I can do or am I stuck with a warranty return?
I had been thinking of trying to replace the screen with a better LCD, but that discussion seems to have fizzled, so I don't think it's an option right now.
Any suggestions appreciated,
-Elmojo

Last night I noticed one. It sits at the bottom of the landscape screen almost next to the clock. The weird thing is that it is visible only with a bright background, or if I put a bright widget above it. Does this last thing means problem with that section of the screen in general? Tne tab is new. Would you return it just for that? Is there any danger of this spreading to other pixels?

Hi
It's not dead,it is just stuck. On PC there are solutions to solve it (google stuck pixel). On Android I think some app that change status of pixel a lot in short period of time should work also. Like watching some Anime with lots of flashing in the region of this pixel or something similar.
Hi!
If you're lucky, as the above poster said. Try to "kick-start" the pixel by watching/running something that rapidly changes between different bright colors, such as red, green and blue.
After a few sessions of that, you might be lucky to get it working again!
If it is dead tho, different companies have different "dead pixel policies". I can assue you that it needs more than 1 to get it replaced tho.
Good luck!
Has anyone else had issues with their back light faulting? I've searched and have seen that other sprint evo lte users have had issues with screen flickering, but my problem seems to be more serious that that. when i wake up in the morning the screen is blank. thank god i have a custrom rom installed and can manually mess with the status bar slider to get the backlight to turn back on. It just needs to be tweaked here and there. the backlight seems to only like to work on full brightness, if not, it will flicker like crazy. if i press with more pressure on certain parts of the screen the backlight turns off completely until i remove my finger. I dont think its a proximity issue since it'll just flicker sitting on a desk. Do I need to replace the screen? is this worth it? i havent dropped to phone or anything for this to default. I can upload a video later. gonna use my OG evo for that which is still kicken by the way
I realize this thread is incredibly old, but did you ever find a solution to the flickering problem? I just started seeing the exact same behavior, including the screen going dark when putting pressure on certain areas of the screen.
Thanks!
I have a PJ75100 doing this, but the screen does not function at all. I get the orange/green light while charging, and if I power it on it acts as if it's doing it's regular startup, but nothing shows on screen.
I did update the stock firmware with the latest release ruu, but still no screen.
I'd really like to get this one going as it's not the normal Jewel, it's the white and silver one, and my girlfriend wants it to replace her iPhone 5c.

During last Friday and Saturday, my Nexus 9 started locking up. Initially it would just freeze, and reboot. No excessive heat, just general use, browsing on Chrome. As the day went on, the freezes became more regular. In addition, freezes would come with small grey rectangle graphical artifacts.
At this point i left it for a while. Coming back to it, it started locking up again - once during boot.
Again I left it, this time over night. Sunday I did a factory reset.
It made it maybe 10 minutes into the reset before, again during Chrome or Bacon Reader, it locked up. This time it locked up with animated grey rectangles, and very loud white noise.
It's not come back on, so I'm now waiting for Google to replace, hopefully before Christmas.
For reference, S/N was HT4AF, day of release model, black, UK.
Make it two. Mine just died. No warning. Just cold dead. Thanks Santa.
Make it three. Got the tablet for my son. He was setting it up and there was a loud whit noise, then
a white screen. Then finally nothing.
I have one very upset child.
HTC quality.

Mine now freezes with white screen and loud noise multiple times a week. Holding power will reboot but a few seconds in to real racing 3 it will do it again. This is supposed to be a flagship tablet but I'm not impressed already having returned one that had a stuck gyro. The one I returned had a much better screen than this one too. No light bleed. HTC are no help in Australia so I'm screwed
Hello!
For a while my phone is having some issues. At first my phone was getting really hot after using it for few mins. That would result in awful performance. Now that issue is gone. However, now it is getting much worse. Yestreday turned my phone on and saw something like this https://i.ytimg.com/vi/dCNCNRti1Xs/hqdefault.jpg At first i was thinking my phone lcd has gone bad. But after messing around i got in google play.. And no issues with screen there. So pressed back button..and everything was back. - colorful lines etc. Got into market again. Downloaded lcdtest. Turns out that red, green, blue, white displays just fine. But grey.. is flickering. And if im going from grey to any other color - all the colorful lines appear again, until i switch to any other color. Most apps work fine, unless they have dark grey parts. (When the phone gets hot , it gets colorful lines no-matter what) I even managed to get homescreen usable by using white background.
What might be the reason of this? Is it LCD issue? GPU, or CPU? I downloaded stability test too. What i found interesting is that on the classic test, it works just fine. However, the cpu + gpu test makes phone hot really fast, and half of screen turns into flickering mess. Could it by gpu going bad, or is it lcd?
Im using lg e975, stock.
Thanks!
Hi, If I had to guess I would say it is a LCD issue, it is also completely normal for a device to get hot whilst doing GPU or CPU tests. If you still have a warranty, I would recommend getting it looked at.
So I know this is a pretty common issue with this phone, but all was good for me until I was playing roblox with my daughter for an extended period and the phone got slightly hot. Now every time the phone gets even slightly warm the corners and notch, as well as anything on the screen, will repeat down the screen several times in a weird purple colour and the left edge has a green tint. I'm assuming this is a hardware fault and judging from the forums it is getting worse by the day (more users experiencing it). I tried contacting motorola but they are not getting back to me. Has anyone on here had this happen and if so how did you get it fixed/contact motorola?
Same here, it was good for a couple of weeks. A few nights ago I observed a green cast when adaptive brightness was on and the brightness was set to low. Today the purple artifacts appeared. now they are gone again.
I read that motorola has been trying to fix this with software and is stating that this is not a hardware issue.
disappointing though.
