If this is where you are, you need to odin back to DL09 or ED04. Follow the instructions.

If you're on ED01 or EB01 it shouldn't matter...boot into recovery and wipe everything and flash comm rom ...done
Edit if you don't have a recovery...make sure you odin recovery I would use the 3-30 fix all and immediately three finger salute into recovery and flash whatever you want..i thought you were trying to go to com rom?

Com rom 2.0 comes with a recovery and a kernel so I would odin recovery...if you want to use nemesis' recovery that should be fine...odin recovery...immediately three finger salute to recovery...wipe everything...flash com rom and reboot...then back into recovery to flash 2.1 patch and/or kernel and/or modem if desired.

No they don't, sometimes you have to odin a few times to get it to co-operate. Go Here and it should tell you what you want to know.
Full DL09 from adrynalyne from the "how to get to ED01 quickly" thread, the atlas_v2.2.pit and have repartition checked usually does the trick. Dont discredit odin with out trying everything first.
Also, dont immediately go back into download mode and flash a recovery let it do one full first boot, stock recovery needs to format some stuff.

i apoligize for not explaining myself fully i didnt mean to discredit odin i was just curious to see if they always worked because i flashed the restore package

Remove clockwork recovery red

I need to remove cwr red so I can update my fascinate to ED04 from ED01. HOW do I do this easily?

Flash the stock kernel and CWM will go away
Can you tell me what the stock kernal is again and how to do that? Thank you.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Get the stock ed01 recovery, kernel, and Rom from the dev section. Push that in odin, boot up, and get ota for ed04. If your lookin for just the ed04 modem, there is a thread for the modems. You will have to get dl09 modem and work your way up from there.

Odin back to stock....done
Will I lose all apps and data? Are you saying flash the full ed01 tar file , 400 mb file?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Unless you can find the stock recovery by itself, you'll have to go back to stock

Or you can do that
here is the link, its easy
use odin to flash DL09
then use CWR to go from DL09 to ED04
OR
you can CWR from ED01 to ED04 in one Shot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097355
I already have the ed04 modem flashed. I need my build to be ed04. The only way to get this is ny removing cwr and do an ota. Cwr will not let the update go through after it downloads, it says update failed when the phone reboots. It boots to cwr first and then goes through the other boot.

[Q] CM7 Install

I've looked through several explanations of how to install CM7 and some instructed to use atlas v2.2.pit while others just flash straight to CWM4 for CM7. So do I need to odin EB01 with atlas v2.2 to repartition or just odin straight to cwm4, flash cm7, flash gapps/kernel? I'm currently on ED01 ComRom 2.1.
Sorry about the noob question I was about to go do the usual quick methods of flashing until I saw people using atlas v2.2 when going from another rom to cm7, I know its needed when going from cm7 to another.

No, the atlas 2.2 pit file comes into play when you want to go FROM cm7/miui/omfgb/omgb to another rom. Flashing cm7 is pretty standard business. Go to jt's cm7 thread and look at the bottom of the OP and download the linked cwm 4 files and use those. Wipe data/cache/dalvik and flash and enjoy.
thanks for the quick reply. knew it seemed pretty standard, I shouldn't have read up so much

Samsung logo, Galaxy S cyanogen(mod) logo, repeat....

This is all my phone keeps doing... I have no idea how to fix this...
Anyone?
that means your boot looping...odin back to stock and start over.
That's a boot loop!
some info will help us help you..
i'm assuming your phone didn't just do this out of the blue? Did you just try to flash a new nightly or a different kernel?
Edit damn you Droidstyle!! your always 2 mins before me!!! And I thought I had a slight forum addiction problem..

Try going back to a older stock package such as dl09 and repartition. I have read where a few had trouble with stock ed05 to cm7. I know I did when flashing vgb...

It means when you odin a stock rom.tar file in pda, you should have an atlas 2.2 pit file in the pit function with repartition checked.

MTD roms repartition the phone to, well, the MTD partition map. in order to go back to stock, you must repartition your phone back to BML partition map, which Samsung uses. if you don't you're more than likely going to run into problems

This happened to me going from the first release of espresso to the second. I Odined DI01 and repartioned and used atlas.pit file and all went well when I reflashed espresso build 18 (after odining recovery for cm7 and ec09 radio of course).

So you Odined DI01, repartitioned (Atlas), then odined recovery for cm7 and then odined ec09 radio???
are you letting the phone boot up once after odining the stock package w/ pit? If not that is more than likely your problem,
-odin d101 or whatever stock package w/ atlas pit file
-let phone boot up once then power off...get back to DL mode
-odin ec09 modem
-odin recovery for cm7
-boot into recovery
-then proceed as you normally would with installing cm7
Try heimdall

ICS revert: How do you go back to Froyo from ICS?

It's been awhile since I odin and don't want to mess up...I also have a CWM backup of Bionix 1.3.1 before testing ICS. I need GPS working more reliably and not have to reboot every time just to get ICS GPS working again so thinking of going back to Froyo.
So...what are the proper steps to revert back to Froyo from ICS? Thanx.
Hmm,
i don´t have any problems with gps and ics.
Maybe you just have some wrong settings?
Odin to 2.1
Install CWR (link in my sig)-put it as update.zip on your internal, boot into recovery, hit "Reinstall Packages" it will cycle, hit "Reinstall Packages" again and your recovery will go from Stock (blue) to CWR (green).
Scroll to "Install from SD" and find Bionix 1.3.1 zip (needs to be the raw ROM). Hit ok let it run and boot up.
Boot back into recovery and restore your nandroid.
Don't forget to wipe when neccessary.
Your GPS can still work within accuracy of 20 ft even after more than 20 min of deep sleep? If so please share what setting you are using and rom and kennel version.

of course it does! its because its a froyo rom and not ics. the deep sleep GPS issues are with all the ics roms.

Thanks for your guide, have a question. Seems easy just to change cwm version to go back and flash froyo, so if I've gone through all the trouble to get to ics including gb bootloaders etc.,does it mean that if I want to go back to ics then I just need to follow the same simple process by flashing a newer cwm version?
You would need to Odin back to 2.1 if you want to go to Froyo bc CM7 and ICS use mtd as their system format while Eclair and Froyo use RFS or Ext4(voodoo). It isn't about CWR but rather the system format.

Odin back to stock and upgrade from there it'll be cleaner. Also you need to install the Nexus S drivers for odin to see your ICS build
