Has anyone made a video on how to install the perm root? I know I can root it, it sounds easy but i like videos.
I searched YouTube and came up empty.

It would be a pretty lame video. Its pretty much enter hboot version, serial number. Then it asks you for the beta key it gave you when you entered your info. Then it's all automated after that.
Yes someone did make a video here

Please hit the thanks if i helped you

Hi everyone. Im a newbie. I tried the search option but found nothing. I want to know which application you all use to take the mobile screen picture. I have an unrooted HTC legend 2.1
Thanks
ok, i just want to know, what application takes a photo of the prresent screen and stores it in sd ? Like we have the best screensnap for symbian s60v5
im using shootme to take screenshots, but you need root to be able to use it
Thanks Bicol, I know I have to root my Legend ultimately but I need to read a lot before that.
There're some responses that people can use Shootme without rooting, I think you can try the app 1st before rooting.
Thanks cryshop for the option. Ill try that.
For another option that I used before I rooted the second Legend, check this website.. You *MUST* download the latest Java JDE as well as the Android SDK on to your computer but you don't have to do anything to the phone. Just follow the steps exactly and you should be good to go.

shootme
Well, shootme got installed easily but didnt work.
Thanks t3ase for another option. Its looks a bit complicated but Ill give it a go.
You do not need to root your phone for this to work. No paid apps either!
All you have to do is do the following:
Tutorial: go to youtube and search "androidce how to take screenshots on the htc evo 3d" (just copy that in the youTube search box)
this should help with any questions you have about it. If you still end up having questions, look under the "Contact" tab in the description of the previous YouTube video.
Hope it helped,

umm.. all you have to do is press the power button and the home button at the same time and it takes a screenshot. No root or apps required at all.

Back in my day we used to walk up hill both ways in the snow for a screen shot.
Then get get smacked by a wooden spoon if the resolution wasn't crisp.
More politics in xda then Washington.
He just wants views on his youtube page...
Why would you tell people to view a youtube video when you could explain it all it one sentence? Anyway, the method you're probably showing in the video is old (if it's the power button+home button method).

Or, better yet... :
Tutorial:
Just go to youtube and search "How to completely waste everyone's time on XDA." (just copy that into the youTube search box).
It should bring up exactly the same videos.
LIKES:

FOR MAC USERS
***UPDATED****** video tutorial made and link is below

It took me about 12 hours to figure this out because im not a super IT guy i just love computers and gadgets. But there was no tutorial about how to control the android from a mac Specifically, some forums/threads say "these instructions" work on mac/linux/windows. but not really
On a Mac it is actually very easy. its 6am and i have been up 16 hours.lol
But If alot of people respond to this post interested in how they can control the android from there mac and do screenshots thru the mac. Ill make a quick video.
all i got to say is i Love Windows 7 but wow, macs makes some things just so much easier to execute.
assuming u have debug mode enabled 'charge only' on the phone.
and assuming you have your sdk in the root of your hard drive "macintosh HD"
here is what you need to enter into the terminal.
double click adb file in the platforms-tools
just to make sure its running
open terminal and do the following assuming you press return(enter) after each line.
Code:
cd /
/AndroidSDK/platform-tools/adb devices
/AndroidSDK/platform-tools/adb shell
su
after the devices line you should see you device listed in the terminal if not check you connection (reboot phone if necessary)
after the "su" and you hit enter.
look at you device screen you should be asked for superuser
now run "androidscreencast.jnlp" and you should see you device and be able to control
let me know if you have any issues. im falling asleep ill check the thread when i wake up.lol
That's awesome I would love a video

Is someone able to point me too or post a video of how to install HC. I know that a few lines of instructions are pretty simple but for people like me I have never done this before and fancy a play. It would really reallly really be appreciated. Think of it as a guide for dummies
+1 to this request... however wrong section.
which section should it be in?
Questions go in General.
It's so much easier to do the install from the text instructions because you can copy and paste the commands. Just can't see having to start and stop a video for something that requires command line text entries.

Agreed. A video is not going to make this process any easier.
You just have to follow directions, which are quite good as they are, and copy and paste commands.
as the guide even states, this isn't as simple as rooting a device or a phone. If you feel uncomfortable doing it, I would suggest not doing it at all. And seeing as to how these updated "leaks" are coming out from HTC, I'd give it a month for them to release HC before attempting this.
Just my thoughts.
So it's the holidays and I'm very very poor right now. I've trying to think of things to make for my lady, and one thing that came to mind was an app! lol, she's on her phone a lot and she knows i love messing with my phone so I thought it'd be a cool idea to make her a custom app, something simple, maybe with a splash screen that shows a pic of us, and then into a love note, followed by some pics of us.
So that's my idea, I've tried making this on one app maker, the crappy conduit one, but every time i installed the APK on my phone (nexus5) it never showed any of the stuff i made on their site.
So here's the thing, does anyone know of a good and easy app maker I could use that would allow me to basically design it, and have it make the code for me, and the APK? I have eclipse setup on my system so i may be able to any editing and whatnot...but, seeing as time is a factor (i only have a few days) id love to get it done in a matter of a day at least.
any info or tips would be greatly appreciated, im no coding genius but i can follow directions quite well lol. Thanks!

oh nah man, i dont need it on the play store. this is just a personal thing for her. I would send her the apk to install on her phone (i'll probably be right next to her to show her how) and then she would just open it, read the note and swype through some pics of us. I just think it'd be cool for her to have an entire custom app that's her and I, instead of just some slideshow online that anyone can do these days.
