Hey all, so my question is that I flashed MIUI coming from CM7 and 3g does not work,I see the 3g icon but using browser and and xda app just loads then says needs to be connected to a network. I asked this cause seems like no one else has the same problem on MIUI(Everyone seems to be on verizon network). I have a verizon fascinate on a none verizon network. CM7's 3g works fine just slower and all touchwiz base roms data works flawlessly(1000kbps to 2500kbps). I cant say its the network cause I'll flash back and forth and it always gives me the same results, touchwiz base roms(Stock,ComRom and EF 3.X)having the fastest network speed. Is it possible that the AOSP rom's network connection is only optimized for VzW. Can anyone confirm this?Sorry for the long post.
Tried different basebands (ED01,ED05,EC09) still the same result

Hi guys, this is my first time posting.
I have tried to flash lots of froyo roms, and they are great but I cant
get my 3G to work with mobilicity while on froyo.
I can get 3G icon on the notification bar, but whenever I tried to open a webpage or access market, it would not load. I have tried *#197328640# to access the phone's SERVICEMODE and lock it to WCDMA network and tried many APN settings as well.
I am still on eclair due to this issue. Once I downgrade back, everything works great.
does anyone have a solution for this? I really want to operate my vibrant on froyo.
Not sure if this will fix you, but its worth a shot. In the linked thread, about four or five posts down, are the instructions for enabling the 850 band. I know it improves 3g speed and performance for vibrants on the at&t network, may help with yours as well. Good luck.

i flashed the new 1.6 bamf rom and it works well. i also flashed the new radio and it said that the update was complete and all. the only issue is when i try to enable 4g option i cant get any connection but i can get 3g connection if i enable it to only have 3g. can anyone help me out?
Use the search button
Try a battery pull.
They are constantly working on the network, expect things like this, especially with the recent outage.
First, let me say I searched threads and forums looking for someone who had same problem and could not find any posting similar. The only one I found that similar was about the APN. I created a new APN using the settings I found in that thread, but it has not helped at all.
Got a pop-up/update message on phone yesterday about upgrading to ICS. I was running a stock HTC Amaze - not rooted - on Simple Mobile, and it was working great.
Upgraded phone to ICS OTA and love the new interface but having two problems, even after setting up the phone to run on the Simple network.
1. Phone is slow and will only run/display 2G whereas it used to be fast and say 4G.
2. Wifi tethering seems to be gone as it will not allow a tethered device to go to the page requested. (I have found threads about how to address this issue, so it is not a big concern like to 2g/4g speed issue.)
3. My android smiles are gone now......all I have are normal smiles. :-(
Any suggestions on what to do would be GREATLY appreciated.....
under mobile network settings, set your network mode to wcdma only.
I don't know much about the tethering issue, been on custom roms for a while, but apparently its a paid feature now. unlock your phone and install a custom rom, and you wont have that issue anymore
Could be a bad flash, though it doesn't really sound so, just sounds like they restricted a few things on other networks.
Fixed and working great....thanks sent to both who posted replies!!!!
Glad to see you got it fixed. If you don't get MMS, make sure you change your APN to the Simple Mobile APN. T-Mobile and Simple Mobile has slightly different APN settings.
Hey, so I have a Samsung Galaxy S running CyanogenMod 9.
I want to test if my 3g is actually working or not. I used to use the 3G internet on the phone until I changed plan without mobile internet and now I've changed back. The problem is there is no 3G connection now.
I've been onto my network's forums and followed their instructions for setting up APN's etc. and the settings are perfect (even though I never changed them since the last time it worked)
So my question is that is there some way to test if your 3G hardware is actually functioning?
Bump. Does anyone know anything to test if your 3G h/w is working?
Bump. Anyone?
Hello, I don't know if there is already a fix for this but I couldn't find one. I am using muniz_ri's TetherAddOn for the stock OB1 Lollipop firmware. I am using a MetroPCS GS5 running on the ViSX ROM by AxAtAx.
Only thing changed was my APN to regain data.
The only issue I'm having is that whenever 4G (WCDMA) is enabled, the Hotspot works wonderfully.
When 4GLTE is enabled under mobile networks, all devices say that they cannot connect to the Internet.
I am trying to figure out if the LTE uses a different Protocol or something else that blocks it out. If WCDMA works, why can't 4GLTE?
I'm not an android wizard but I do know some basics. This is just beyond my reach and would love to see if there is a way around that "block"
