[Q] No sound when receiving a text. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there everyone,
I've got a Galaxy S II Running VillianROM 2.3. XXKG3.
My phone no longer makes any sound when recieving a text message. It vibrates, but makes no noise. This goes with custom text sounds and stock ones.
The phone is not on silent, and it plays my ringtone when rung. All other applications/media play sound perfectly.
Any help would be greatly appreicated.
Thanks c:
EDIT: Im using the VillianROM Tweak to allow more then 3 text messages as well if that helps.

Nevermind. Managed to fix it.
I had to go into the SMS App > Settings > Notification sound and change it in there as well as in the Settings App > Sounds > Notification Sounds.

[Q] Why no dialer key sounds?

Hello all,
I searched on the forum and the closest anyone had to my problem was having no phone audio at all.
The issue I am having is my key presses in the dialer make no noise when placing the call and no noise while on the call.
Example is I call at&t and I press 1 for this or 0 for that and the keys make no noise so Im not sure if the autophone system is registering my choices.
I am on stock rooted rom and shouldn't have any apps that effect the dialer.
I have checked in the settings and the options are checked for it to make sounds and vibrate on keypress.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Make sure your system volume is up and that "Audible touch tones" is checked.
This is my fourth android phone btw. I've checked all the obvious stuff for why I wouldn't be hearing it. All the other keys in every other app work as they should.
Well the only reasons you wouldn't be hearing the keytones on a stock ROM is either the setting is unchecked or that the volume for system sounds is off. I am on a custom ROM and the sounds are working. So this would mean the issue is one of those, or for some reason files got corrupted. Back up your stuff, and try restoring your phone to factory settings.
So I switched my keyboard from the stock samsung to the stock android and now it works without having changed anything else. This is weird.
I have always found it annoying that I am not able to hear tones dialed while in a call on the GS2.
On my Captivate this was an option, and it actually worked.
On the GS2 there is an option for audible touch tones, but it must only control tones when dialing a number, but not while in a call (ie. when using an automated system etc).

[Q] UnNamed 1.2.0 - Notifications volume drop

Hello all,
Searched for this and didn't quite see anything about it. I'm running UnNamed 1.2.0 and have noticed that all notifications volume except the ringer drops to very low levels out of nowhere and for no apparent reason. I check the volume in settings and all are at max. Sometimes it seems this is triggered by a text message... The only way I can restore volume is to "clear memory" in running applications. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and could shed some light as to what can cause this.
Thanks!
What audio player do you use? I noticed that if in poweramp, I didn't have Pause on notifications enabled, the notification volume was much lower.
Using the stock music app and google music. Checked for settings but can't find what you refered to.

Text Message
Hi guys,
I too have the text message problem when ever i browse or send or receive the text message in my phone i get bell type of sound apar from notification sound. I think there is a problem in text message as it was modified.
Turns out is not the volume that drops but somehow the sound comes out of the ear speaker instead of the speaker in the back of the phone. Maybe someone can post this in the development section?

Problem with my sound/vibrate since 2.3.5

Hi guys,
Yesterday I updated my SGS2 to 2.3.5.
Since the update I have a problem with my sound.
If I set vibrate on 'always', there's no problem with the sound of incoming calls, and everything is fine and dandy. But putting vibrate on 'always' puts the vibrate icon in my statusbar. That makes the bar a bit too crowded for my taste.
That's why I normally have vibrate set on 'only in silent mode'.
But if I set the vibrate option on anything other than 'always' (for example 'only in silent mode'), incoming calls make no sound at all.
I've tried looking for an earlier thread, but found nothing concerning this problem.
Does anyone know what to do?

[Q] Beans Rom Audio & Notifications

I saw a couple of posts in the Beans Rom thread about the sound for notifications seeming to be stuck at full volume, but I couldn't find a solution. Has anyone determined a solution to this? I have already tried changing the speaker settings via STweaks while using the Perseus kernel.
I'm also having a problem with notifications (both vibration and sound) not going off for the stock email app (microsoft corporate exchange email account). They don't ever go off, but I do get a blinking notification light.
Thanks for the help!
up.
Same issue running Beans build 7.
The notification volume slider does two things.
Sliding it left puts it in silent but moving it one tick right and text message notifications are full volume.
I changed my sms tone to something not so loud. Temp fix..

[Q] Problem in Stock Volume, always silent

Hi Everyone,
i have International HTC One X+, stock ROM not rooted ... you can say .. i didn't change any things (ROM, Recovery etc) since i purchased ... a Virgin phone
i have that problem only last week where i noticed i miss a lot of call, then i found that the phone always on zero level (with no silent icon in notification), even i change the volume using the volume keys, it's not changing the volume level for ringtones .. media and alarm ringtones can be changed, and i can hear the music and the the alarm, but not the ringtone.
i had Audio Manager Pro app and then i uninstall it .. still the same issue.
i go to Setting > Sound then i change the ringtone, once i press OK it's again goes to zero
Can anyone help me here,
Thanks
