is there any other call screen for CM7? i would like to change appearance of the incoming and outgoing screen.
Use GoLauncher EX.
i am using go launcher EX but have no idea how to change call screen with this
Use go contacts...... has a dialler with themes and there is also go sms to match.
#Edit# Sorry didn't read properly incoming and outgoing, I can't remember if go contacts changes that? Try searching the market for call screen, I used full screen caller I'd for a while but it was a bit buggy.

First you said call screen (the screen you see when you're making/answering a call)and in my #edit# I pointed you in the direction of full screen caller id an app that changes the call screen!
Second the only way I know of to change the dialling screen in cm7 is to try a different theme with theme chooser. You can find themes on the market or on here.

i already tried full screen caller but it is just an app...i would like to change it without another app which will slow down the answer (my experience).
BUT i dont want to change theme - i like it just the way it is now..
i dont want to be rude but if it is not possible to change just that screen just say it
Its not possible
it is shame but thank you

Only other way I can think of would be to change the image in your system folder using root explorer, if that is even possible, I don't know as I've never tried to do it, I used cm7 for a while but then went back to sense as it suits me better.............Try doing some research!!
Also i don't mean to be rude either but a simple no thats not what I meant but thanks for trying to help me anyway, or something along those lines wouldn't go amiss now would it...... Manners cost nothing!

as i said few post before...i have my own dialer and contacts - GO contacts and i dont want another app for "call screen"..this is in my opinion "dial screen"
Sense (and sense based roms) use their own framework so i guess getting a call screen to match it is a no go. I guess someone "could" create a custom call screen but on our wildfires with the limited resolution and stuff? who would bother
you are right, BUT ( ! ) someone maybe would !
and what if i would change the Phone.apk from /system/app for another phone.apk from maybe different ROM ? would it change the "call screen" ?
No, I think that this will just change the default dialer, so it will be the same as if you just changed the app through the system normally...

Hi
Found this very useful app. Default App manager.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.appiator.defaultappmanager&feature=search_result
Thanks
This app seems to do the same thing the phone already does without having to install that app. Once you install an app that replaces a system app or another app the phone asks you which you want to have as default.
I really don't know the point of this app unless there's something else to it.

That would be true except when I want to set a different app as the default app. See the case below.
I've Go dialer as the default dialer which was set when I got the prompt the first time I tried to use a dialer after installing the Go dialer. So I picked Go dialer as the default . Now with Default manager I can switch back to the stock dialer as the defaul without uninstalling Go dialer. Not sure how I can easily do that without the help of an app like Default Manager. If there is an easy way to do it without an app like this I would love to know it.
Thanks!

Again, that can also be done with the system the phone already has. All you have to do is go to settings/applications find the third party dialer and clear default. Now when you go and use the dialer, it will ask you again which you want as default. Once you choose a default, done! You don't even have to delete the third party dialer.
You can keep repeating that process over and over without the need of this app.

I can't find the option to clear default in the settings/application/third party dialer screen. Please see the screen shots. 2nd one for the defualt app manager. What am I missing here? Using MIUI.
Thanks!

Rgds!
I have searched the internet a few times over the last few weeks and find only the same old, dead threads with poor solutions or seemingly good solutions which have been pulled from the market (such as app called "missed call"), and nothing new, so here goes:
It is a documented Android phenomenon: we hear nothing when a text message comes in while we're on the phone. There is no LED so glancing at the phone from time to time (I use headset) doesn't cut it. I have to try to remember to wake the screen to check from time to time and sometimes I miss time-sensitive messages.
Are there any solutions that I have missed? I don't really want to go the route of BLN, or 3rd party SMS app; I may have to I know. But I do hope there is a way to make this shiny new top-notch device do a basic thing that has been accomplished by every device I have owned since this one

You did not say what exactly the solutions you tried, so I'm not sure if you already did this: go to Settings > Call > Call alert > Alerts on call and set it to sound, or any of your preferred settings.

Oddly enough, i never saw this before. I must have looked in the Sound settings menu 10 times. I'll try it out, thanks. If that fixes it, i wonder why it was off by default in the first place
Edit: It works, thank you.
You're welcome! I'm still very new to all this (android and the SGS2), so I'm looking around my phone, playing with it, trying to figure out things.
On a related note, do you know how to get custom alerts for text messages? I can't figure it out, and I doubt samsung took out that simple feature that's been around since I can remember.

I can see that, but I cannot use other ringtones besides what's pre-installed in the device. That is, if I want to use an MP3 music file as my SMS alert notification, I cannot add that file to the list of SMS alert notifications. Is it really like that?

Ah ok, so what you have to do is go in your "sd card" the built-in memory, not "external sd" and create a folder called "Audio". Inside here you make 3 more folders: "Alarms" "Notifications" & "Ringtones"
You put whatever you want for sms/email, etc in the Notifications folder, it should show up in the list for choosing your sms sound.
Thanks! It took me a while to get back to this thread (been really busy). It works!

These lockscreens are awesome, much more fun than widgetlocker. The only problem is they all need resizing to fit our screens.
I've been trying but without a script and my lack of knowledge its hard work. If you rename the. mtz to .zip then extract it and find lockscreen, rename that to lockscreen.zip and extract that you can edit manifest.xml and resize everything to fit our screens, Ive been dividing all the sizes by 50% to make everything fit on the screen and then trial n error to move everything to the right place. Does anybody know an easier way??

Arrrggghhh so close, this is frustrating !
This one is VA 3way minimal lockscreen, it has a white animated line that should move down between the 2 slider icons when there in the right place and when pressed a phone and sms icon appears at either side which you drag the centre icon to, took me an hour and half to get that close.
Edit: a default one I started last night but forgot to resize the images.

Aaaaaaargh lol it reminds me of the frustrations I got with chronotopia. Just a little bug I found with unlocking..... aswell as the volume and home button method I found holding the back button kills the app and restores original lockscreen too. It's a cm7. Back button kill option I know but for me a lockscreen should only have 1 method to unlock and this app has 3 and for this reason " I'm out " lol
" once its gone,its GONE."
True and I give up too, its too much work for me. this apps still in early stages so fingers crossed it'll get better features and hopefully someone else who is better than me will port all the lockscreens.

I think it's great app other than the fact that you have to resize all of the themes lol. Does it matter if there is 3 ways to unlock? Just use one And you can turn the back button kills app thing off right?
Anyway next phone I'm getting needs to have MIUI
Didn't for one second say it wasn't a good app!!
Yes it matters to me that there are 3 ways to unlock it.
No I can't turn back button kill off due to the fact I use this function.

i dont have that option, im using the ASOP beta1 rom. i did a restore and its come back, but when someone phones me and i need to unlock it, it switches to the ball one. so when its sitting idle it will show the left to right slide bar. and now when someone calls its turns into the crap ball, the ball "the only way to decribe it" can be moved all over the screen and it zooms into the ball once you unlock, and its laggy ugly and ther is no need for it tbh lol any ideas?
Funny thing is that it LOOKS like only cyanogen settings are hidden. Before I did backup of cm settings and after restoring it (with titanium backup) I have my old locksreen(from previous rom, drop icon from center to any other place) and I have everything working from my cyanogen settings from previous rom, like torch in status bar, stop app via long-press.
If the problem's the lockscreen try a alternative on the market e.g widget locker if it's still bad i'd recommend using a different rom like CM7
i took some screen shots of what i mean, the first pic is what i have untill someone phones me, then it looks like the 2nd pic.

When I add a direct dial shortcut to home screen, the contact photo appears with it. But soon after, with no apparent cause I can connect, the photo disappears. I can use apps, turn the screen on and off - no change. It almost seems it's related to time. It stays about 10 minutes and then it's gone. I know this sounds crazy.
I am using Go Launcher (new to it, having preferred Launcher Pro), so don't know if that's the problem.
Anyone else have this happen?

Ugggh! Another dark theme.
Juat kidding, my friend.
I re-added contact shortcuts with photos today a couple of hours ago, and they seemed to stay, but when I just checked, one has already disappeared (not the contact, just the photo - the photo is still attached when I go into contacts, just not the direct dial shortcut).
I'm thinking of doing a hard reset and starting fresh, not because of this one problem, but because I think it might be an indicator.
I bought the phone from a guy who only had it 3 months (perfect condition), and who told me he did a hard reset. And he took his SIM. AT&T set it up for my account, as I assumed it was restored to factory because of what he told me. Then when I went to add my photos, I discovered his were still there (seriously, Dude, do all men have their male body parts on their phones?).
So I think I should start totally fresh, and see if that fixes any of these little problems. Also, sound notifications and ringers are not always the same.
I of course have factory ROM, no rooting or flashing, and it is locked to AT&T.

No, not Facebook contacts. I don't even do Facebook. The inconsistency is what drives me crazy. Yesterday one out of 5 disappeared. I put it back on this morning, and all 5 are there for now.
It's a problem with Go Launcher. I uninstalled it fully, synced my Facebook pictures, synced Google so that it would save, and then reinstalled Go Launcher and set up my direct dial shortcuts again. Haven't had a problem since.
