How's the 3vo performance after rooting - HTC EVO 3D

Ive been reading all the forums about rooting nd s-off, but I just wanted to know how is everyone's phone acting after doing this. I want to root my phone so badly but don't want to risk bricking my phone. And r we in full root now and how do the apps behave that need root. Thanks

It is really your choice, Revolutionary will install Clockwork but a lot of devs are recommending TWRP(TeamWIN).

I'll go with team win, they never let me down

If you didn't flash a new rom and didn't freeze a bunch of bloatware then performance should be exactly the same since you're running a stock rom that's just been rooted.

Odd issue, but since I rooted, my signal strength is MUCH lower than it usually is. Right now at home I have zero bars and occasionally lose data altogether, where I used to have 3 bars constant. Any idea what went wrong and how I could fix it?

[Q] EVO 3D lagging, not as fast and smooth as before.

So I rooted my EVO 3D with unrEVOked, and I noticed some problems, so I went back to 100% complete stock. So after a couple of days, I started getting SMS errors and radio interfearances. Well I got it fixed a while ago, but it also lagged once in a while when I'm typing a message, sometimes scrolling through screens, when I make my phone go to sleep, it like sleeps then wakes up right away, but now it's been like around two weeks, and I've been having a little more lag when I'm typing a message, or making the phone go to sleep, so I have to keep restarting the phone to make it run smooth and fast. I updated the phone already, and idk if its the update or the root that messed up the phone, but if anyone knows HOW this happened, and how I can get rid of this lag, then PLEASE help me out, cause this lag is pissing me off. Thanks.
Root your phone again and get rid of that sprint crap...problem solved..hehe

But I updated my phone to the latest version. Can I still root it?
U can through HTC but u can't flash very much..just 2.3.4 stuff...do u have s-on or s-off?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Oh, well then how do I root it again? Cause I mean the lag pisses me off.
Go to htcdev.com and unlock your phone then find the Su zip in the dev section, then flash a recovery either twrp or cwm then u should be good...I'm assuming you have s-on correct?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Oh alrite then, nd yes I do.
Wait, and another thing, can I still root if I have 2.3.4??
Then yeah follow the directions from HTC then do the rest and flash 2.3.4 roms u won't be able to flash kernels yet but u will soon..should find some good roms from the devs
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
As long as u flash the Su zip then you will b rooted and flash a recovery I prefer twrp...go to the development section and there will b a walkthrough
For ya...
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
After you flash a recovery like twrp make sure you wipe everything including cache and the complete wipe of the phone before flashing any ROM, I think that's why your experiencing lag because you flashed over the stock ROM when you should of wiped everything before flashing.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Wait do I get the Su zip and walkthrough? Do I get it here or at HTC?
Wait, do I get the Su zip and walkthrough here, or at the HTC dev website?

Well actually, my phone is 100% stock, like i Have nothing of root whatsoever.
Well, actually, my phone has nothing of root whatsoever, so its 100% stock.
You should make sure you know what your doing before trying things, You may end up with the most attractive paperweight around.
If you dont know what your doing you should NOT attempt things like this.

Well, most people that first come here don't know what they are doing. I think what you meant to say is, if you don't even know where or how to find a guide on rooting and flashing then before attempting anything, there is one thing you should do first. READ!!!! Read the stickies in the dev forum. Read the links in the stickies in the dev forum. Use Google to find as much info on the internet as you can before attempting anything!!! Please, for your own good read as much as you can. We cannot hold your hand through it. You need to be able to do this on your own. Read until you become familiar with the terminology. Then if you still don't understand come back here and ask. If you do that we will understand your questions better and you will understand the answers better. We all started out knowing nothing about this. I read on these forums for 2 years before posting anything. I am by no means a professional, but I do understand how to search for and find the answers to my questions.

Help, new to evo 3d

Okay so I got the EVO 3D about 2 days ago and fell in love with it. I just have some questions as a new EVO user.
1. Is rooting this phone dangerous? Has anyone ever bricked their device doing this?
2. What is the difference between the HTC bootloader unlocked and a rooting method on these forums. Oh and what is the best root method?
3. With all the features on the phone as it is, is it necessary to root in the first place
4. If so, what is the best ROM out right now (i heard alot about infected eternity)
5.is sense 3.5 available on this phone?
6. How do I get a working beats audio thing on here?
Thanks you guys,
Ognimnella
Sent from my 3D freaking fingertips using XDA App
1.no. Probably.
2. Depends on what hboot you are. Revolutionary is the best and only I think if you're 1.4.
3. Yes, for sure. So many things you can do with root.
4. I like eternity but I'm on myns warm rim now. Also like miui.
5. Yes there are a few 3.5 roms. Haven't tried them.
6. Beats are included in most roms nowadays but i've seen flashable zips around here somewhere.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Kay you need to tell us what hboot your on. Also yes root it now there are plenty of good roms out right now. Go with the one you would like the most. I personally like senseless Rom the most cuz it gives you aosp experience with your 4g and 3d. There is a 3.5 Rom right now and it will be updated soon now that sac got his phone running again. The beats file is in the dev section. And its flashable
The diff between HTC method is that you can't flash roms the traditional way you have to flash differently because of the kernal you have to flash kernal in fastboot mode with the htcmethod lame I know. The unrevoked method you can flash roms without doing all the bs which is awesome less work lol let us know your hboot so you can get more help
ok how do I find the hboot on this phone, also my phone is cdma, just a little extra info

Read what root is...and the risk of rooting NO ONE IS RESPONSIBLE OF DAMAGES OR A BROKEN PHONE...
Do it at ur own risk ur resposible for ur own actions , if u don't know what ur doing , u better off getting someone who does or else u will brick ur phone. Flashing wit hboot 1.5 takes time n some knowledge.
Rooting wit 1.4 hboot is easy as 1,2,3!

S-Off and Bootmanager

Has anyone heard whether Bootmanager support will include s-off Rezound? Or does it already? It seems like using bootmanager should be a lot easier now, and man do I miss it from my Thunderbolt.

Why do you need root so bad ????

Silly question but what's the need to root this phone, is great as it is.
Don't get me wrong, all my past phones were rooted OG Evo, Evo 3d, Evo LTE and now DNA is stock , but rooting seems unnecessary really.
If it's not broken why fix it.
Not fixing but enhancing. The phone is great as is... Adding in a few tweaks can only make it better plus the option to have the latest without waiting on slow big red... That's why I can't wait to root this bad boy.

I agree with the op on my old phone I needed root and had mods and roms installed but this phone is so good as it is I have left it completely stock.

Being able to flash custom edits (no more wireless charging pop up!), user a custom recovery where I can make full nandroid backups, and titanium backup of all my apps are the big ones for me. Also custom splash screen (that default HTC screen lights up my whole house) as well as boot / down animations is something love. I was making custom boot animations and hacking my old moto razr era flip phone back in the day.
Oh, and we'll probably get a ported sense 5 way before it comes from Verizon.

I personally cannot tolerate the default LCD Density. I got the DNA the day it came out, and I had to wait a few days before I could root it (locked bootloader wasn't cracked yet)... Longest few days of my life.

I can't wait to get rid of the bloatware and get my inverted apps back.
I don't need ROOT I need the bootloader unlocked so I can flash custom recoveries which leads to custom ROMs.
Example:
So when HTC says oh sorry we can't upgrade you to Sense 5 because you don't have an IR blaster I say thats ok because Newtoroot already has a Sense 5 ROM that I've been using LONG before HTC decided they weren't going to upgrade me.
With a good ROM you ALMOST don't need root.

Yea, I know, and I am very thankful of that. However, in most cases (if we get an official CM ROM) we can get updates much much sooner than you can with stock. Who knows how long HTC/Verizon will make us wait for 4.2.
For me, it's wifi tethering. No way big red's getting more money from me than they already do.

I guess you have unlimited, because it doesn't cost anything if you have tiered data.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Why do we need air? lol JK! For me part of the reason is that I love to tinker and strive to make the phone perfect, which theoretically is really impossible thus I always have to tinker! But I enjoy trying out all the cool custom ROMs and kernels to find what suits my needs best. RIght now I'm UV by 100 and UC 10 1.24 and it still runs as smooth as stock (though obviously my qudrant score has dropped from 8200 to 7100). I have unlimited data, so WiFi tether is a huge bonus. And getting rid of all the annoying icons (GPS reticle, etc). And as awesome as HTC's weather clock widget is, the transparent one in the Viper ROM is the most gorgeous widget ever to me.
All that being said, and there are not many, the DNA is an Android phone I would recommend stock to people.
I'm actually surprised its taking this long to get the ROM going on the DNA. Not that I have any idea of the amount of work that must go into doing something like this, but these guys that are much smarter than me usually have these things out very quickly. In the past it always seems like there is that group of developers that are trying to be the fist to crack/hack/unlock anything that comes out.
There are plenty of ROMs for the DNA man...check the android development section for the DNA...

For me, I can't wait to kill that damn annoying Droid bootsplash with the loud noise!
I forgot how annoying it was on my old unlocked one. The screen on that one shattered and my new one has the OTA.
