I attempted to flash Simple Honey 4.0 (was using Bionix prevoiusly) via Odin and once the phone rebooted I saw a strange screen issue after it rebooted.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The screen looks like this before the boot animation kicks in. It also appears like this if I attempt to go into CWM. It also happens with RevolutionRom. Other than that the roms "seem" to work fine but I can't navigate through CWM because the screen is wonky. I tried searching for this issue but I'm not even sure what search terms to use. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

First of I apologize if this is already posted elsewhere. I have looked around and haven't found anything specific to my problem. Anyway, this is my problem. I have loaded a custom ROM on my Samsung Vibrant. Went well and love it, but I figured it was time to install a new one. Download a few to try and this is where my problem starts. Every time I get into recovery everything goes smoothly, but then it hangs on installing ROM. The progress bar doesn't move and I let it sit for a good 30 minutes and nothing happens. I can power the device off and boot up into my existing ROM just fine. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems.

never heard of this issue, do you have a rom now with voodoo that is enabled?
I would just odin back to stock and start over..
Try disabeling voodoo if its installed. Or make sure you are in clockwork and not stock recovery. Stock only has about 4 options. Clockwork will have about 10 or so.

If nine of the above work, try reinstalling clockwork

I am fairly new to all this and am wondering if I need to have the stock Froyo installed to flash the new Sweet Honey 2.5 ROM. I thought I read that somewhere in the development forums. I am running Bionix 1.3.1, and the battery drains so fast I am looking for something else to try. If I Odin back to stock before I flash Sweet Honey, does it matter what I was using before? Thanks.
Noo you dont need to do nothing...just flash...if you odin back you will lose root...just flash the rom and thats all

Yup, no need to Odin back unless you are having major issues. Just follow the installation instructions in the thread step-by-step and you shouldn't have a single issue.

I actually just switched from Bionix 1.3.1 to Sweet Honey to try it out and had no problems flashing it. Just make sure to do it from Rom Manager as suggested in the op.
Flashed it last night, and it is working like a champ. The only thing I couldn't do is install the updated G-mail app. When I hit the install button it says it is not installed. I have the most current G-mail app from the market, but I loved the new G-mail icon and would like to get it back. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I flashed sweet honey and i have problems receiving phone calls. then i flashed back to bionix 1.3, and i had alot of FCs. then i tried B 1.3.1 and still had force closes. so now im back to sweet honey. cuz odin wont reconize my phone in download mode
Now that you mention it, I haven't received any calls yet. I tried calling my phone from another phone, and it rings once and disconnects. Did you find a solution? Anyone out there have a solution? It's kind of important to be able to receive calls. I can initiate a call with no problems.
No i havent found a solution. im still trying to get my pc to reconize my phone in download mode. my phone is really messed up lol

You may have to go into Root Explorer, find the gmail app and long press it. You should get a menu pop up. Click fix permissions and make sure that read/write are checked for the first one and only read for the other two.

You two may want to send a message to Explodingboy and see if he can figure it out. I didn't seem to have that issue. My only question would be did you guys flash it like he suggested or did you just flash it through Clockwork recovery? My flashing addiction has taken me to Jellette's Atriarc rom which seems great as well.
So I just flashed this ROM VIA Odin and I'm a bit worried.
Here is what I'm noticing:
When I first booted the phone everything was very glitchy looking which didn't worry me too much because it was the first boot. I rebooted it after 15min or so and is was still glitchy. It was just a bunch of different pixels. I went into my camera and it looked the exact same. Every once in a while I'll do something and then it will look really glitchy and not show anything, and then it will subside. Is anyone experiencing this? Was it a bad flash or is this normal with a freshly installed ROM?
Flash a gingerbread bootloader. That will fix the rainbow effect, as it is called on these boards.

i was experiencing the same problems as you and most of them were solved by flashing the bootloader and the sgs2 camera needs to be flashed sepratly (i think)
Turn off the screen and turn it back again and it will all clear up.

Hopefully they can start making flashing the bootloader flash by default. It would calm a lot of nerves.
i dont have rainbow apart from on boot up and i dont have the bootloaders
Does anyone know what the issue is with the newer versions of the Rocko rom? I've tried out at least 4 other roms without any problems but Rocko 2.1 and 2.2.1 both seem to just sit at the motorola screen on the front. After I left it for 30 minutes or so 2.2.1 started showing the boot animation, but after another 30 minutes it was still just repeating so I think something is broken.
Ive wiped everything and flashed it with no problem I have feeling its the kernel that is not working for some people I would try
1.flash Rocko 2.2.1
2.flash kernel of choice
Shouldn't take more then 5 mins honestly
And im guessing your unlocked?

Wow, thanks for getting to me so soon.
Firstly I am definitely unlocked.
I'll give the flashing and switching kernel thing a try in a bit. I'm having the same problem with redROCKO1.1.1 too which is a bit odd.
I used TWRP 2.0 to install it, it shouldn't matter whether I use that or CWM, right?
Edit: Do you recommend a particular kernel? I've only flashed roms that already had their own kernels in the past.
Edit 2: I keep getting a message "E:Cannot load volume /misc!", could that be the problem?
Edit 3: I flashed Rocko 2.2.1 now for the third time and it started showing the boot animation properly after about 5 minutes. Another 10 minutes later and the boot animation isn't looping properly and the screen turns black for a second before it loops again.

Flashed the 1.4 highpro kernel, same thing as before. The boot animation doesn't loop properly and nothing seems to be happening. I have to head out now so I'm just going to reflash my old setup for now and try to work on this more later tonight, thanks for your help. If you can think of anything I'll get to it later but the big thing I'm going to try is to flash cwm recovery back and see if installing with that makes a difference.

So I tried it after flashing cwm back, still the same problem. Give up?
Edit: I also tried fixing permissions, and flashing the kernel over the kernel of my old HomeBase setup, the problem doesn't seem to be with the kernel.
What in the startup do you think could be erroring out/going in an endless loop?
Same things happens to me on 2.1.1 version and on 1.1.1 version after booting contating network its show than it show for activating if I press ok than again contating network comes its repeating again and again and this issue I face on joker and magnifier roms plz som1 help on this I, m on 198_7 rooted and unlocked

i was running cm7.2 and flashed this with no problems,it took like 5 mins to boot up but it and now im running rocko odex2.0 maybe thats why i had no issues with the boot up. trying flashing the odex one if you are unlocked
same here. Its good to know that there are people on here that respond quickly to help!
I'm having a bit of an issue with my phone.
I was running alliance ROM build 30 since it was released. A week or so ago i wanted to try cm12. So I flashed octos.
It flashed fine and it runs fine, but I still can't seem to "get into" asop. Just seem to keep wanting touch whiz again.
So I went to restore my backup of alliance and it fails right away. I'm using philz recovery. I've also tried twrp and no change.
So I went to do a clean install of alliance and it flashed fine, but it won't boot. It hangs at the boot screen.
So I tried to flash another touch whiz ROM and it did the same thing. Just won't boot.
But it does not boot loop, it justs gets to the boot animation and stays there until I take out the battery.
So far I'm able to get any asop ROM to work fine, but only one touchwhiz. And even then the touchwhiz ROM was really slow and force closed apps a lot (maybe the ROM, maybe not, I'm not sure).
So any help is greatly appreciated.
Odin back to stock?
Haven't tried that yet.
I assume I would have to use the MC3 file right?
So I can re root and unlock again.
It appears that there isnt any files that I can download.
Everything I can find is no longer available
Well I found the odin file.
Ran it now my phone is really screwed. It said it ran successfully but when it went to boot, it just flashes the galaxy note 2 screen.
Now every time I try to flash it in Odin it fails right away.
Bump. I tried to run the odin file again and it still fails.
Im back om my old phone for now so i have some time to figure this out.

have you tried to boot into stock recovery and wipe data/cache?
I tried but it wont boot into recovery. The only thing kt will so is flash the boot screen or go into download mode

You should have just used a custom kernel. It would boot with AGNI fine. My phone is doing the same thing yours was, IE not booting touchwiz roms. AGNI always works to have it boot correctly. Now, though, you have a different problem which is you probably flashed the wrong ODIN file and might have bricked the phone.
I've used this odin file before with success though.
I couldn't find any files to download at first, but then I remembered that I had them on my computer still from a long time ago.
I figured out if you load MochaDrizzle ROM, then after booted, download the app called FOLDERMOUNT. Run it with root access and it will 'fix' a broken permission. Next load Int-SDCard Writer and hit the Download (extra fix) button and then Fix Me buttons. THen reboot. Now you should be able to re-load stock roms and have them boot.
SHEESH!
