Now this is the only and of course, the official support thread for miks cm7, but please, please, do move on! This is old and although it was once the best and still is a good ROM, nighties are by far and large better.
The journey from alpha's of this ROM was amazing and very memorable.
THIS THREAD WILL REMAIN AS A DISCUSSION FOR THOSE WHO ARE STILL ON MIKS ROM DUE TO SOME REASON OR THE OTHER. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU SWITCH TO addfad's CM7 . it's more stable, more smooth, more bug fixes, no black screen, etc etc. I myself was and am a huge mik fan. And I switched very very late.. But now I regret it. So go go Adam! (that's his name)
So as the name says , this is a discussion thread for mik_os's latest mod of cyanogenMOD7 .. so here it is for you all . have any question ? any doubt ? any questions about battery life or kernels ? just post here ! simple ! and save mik_os some trouble ! remember ! dont post non-developement stuff in dev thread. PLEASE. A REQUEST.
here is the link to developement forum : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
so here are some lill advices:
1. read up. its very easy , and very usefull. search in the thread. there are more than 1000 users on xda and if u have a problem, its very likely that u arent the first one with the problem, and that someone somewhere has had the same problem! and it is also very likely that that person has somehow got the solution or aworkaround. its very adviceable to read the posts or, if u find that the problem of that person is solved, but dont find the solution yourself, u can either pm him or ask him as a reply.
2. this rom is extreemly stable and 10x better , faster , amazing , customisable than the stock rom. thinking about going for it or not ? i strongly recommend - GO FOR IT !!!
3. for best battery with to the par performance , go for miks 6.5.8 with fserves goldenleaf kernel - its amazing.
4. for best perforance with battery too, and a lill more tweaks, go for fserves gbs kernels with 6.5.8
5. for pure power and performance (with a very very very lill compromise with battery [only during use, cuz standby battery is amazing] ) go for franco's kernel. its pure awesomeness.
6. for all noobs, and to make it clear- 6.5.x has the .32 kernel tree only, which means francos 19.4 kernels and fserves kernels. and also paolo's kernels. for 6.6.x - only .35 kernels. which includes francos gb kernels.. v1 and further..
7. READ THE FIRST PAGE OF MIKS MAIN DEVELOPEMENT THREAD BEFORE DOING ANYTHING. (^^links above^^)

The battery life is pretty good with franco's v15.1 kernel. It lasts for about 2 days for me. The only issue I have is the WIFI sometimes after waking up won't connect, so I have to turn it off and then back on.

No tweaks, I use same as releasing for you. Just do not install crappy apps.
oh, once more: I don't playing games
with games it's about 10-15h.
doing as you said ! will see now !
Well i get a little over 2 days battery lifetime to, mostly on 2g(90% time) and common sense. I'm on mik_os 6.5 clean.
I update my apps, i read news, F1,WRC,etc all on WiFi. I usually use 3G to check-in on Facebook and upload a photo. I occasionally play ant smasher and angry birds.
I use GPS to track my biking routes...
It's more than enough for me, im a metrourban afterall.

thnx all of you for all the sugestions ! will try them out !
Im on 6.5.2 with franco's tweaks.zip and its high benchmark scores ( 1351 Quadrant and 1400 AtunTu ) and also 2 days battery life with 3g always enabled wifi like 1 hour , music 1 hour , calls/sms like always =). With franco's kernel getting some FCs, getting lower benchmarking scores, didnt tested battery life. IMHO using native kernel is always better since it is optimized for this ROM.

vow ! i forgot ive done the same thing ! (flashed francos tweaks.zip ) performance is good my main point is battery.. i dunno how i completly forgot that i had flashed the tweaks zip !! will test both with and without the tweaks now.. will use the one with more battery life.. and me too sms is always on most of the time..
Kernel...
Hi all, i am using ROM Mik_os beta6.3, but without franco kernel i had battery life only about 1day (no games, half a day on 3g, half a day on 2g), 600MHz.
With franco kernel about 2 days.
Mik_os, when we can await more optimized ROM from you, with more battery life ?

Mik+Franco combo is the best IMO. You can try Mik+fserve's kernel. But if you keep your GPS and Wifi ON all day, any ROM is not going to make your phone last too long.
i can suggest Mik 6.5.7+fserve's kernel too, results with those was best for me so far

Thanks for the reply BFS or CFS which version to use please help me choosing it.
I use only GPS no wifi.
Usually it is suggested , for simplicity, to go with BFS. I am on BFS myself. If you google it, you shall find that reports coming in on BFS Kernels *better responsiveness on simple small Linux devices* are good enough. Asgkarthik16 said it though, no kernel or ROM shall help your cause with that much usage, your best bet is to go with Mik_OS+franco BFS or try devoid.franco
Hello guys, can someone please tell me which rom has the best batterij life?
I'm running on DiXperia3_'Impossibly Perfect' at the moment.
it is depended on how the user use their phone . for myself i use stock se rom and z's uncapped fix thats it , i use my phone to text, call and internet (mail, youtube and slight porn). i dont use my phone for games. my battery last for 1day and a half. heavy use 1day.
ive tried every rom here on dev thread and nothing satisfies me, but if ever FXP perfected his cm7 then maybe ill let go on stock.

Nottachtrix has aweful battery life and wetdream has OC..
Im looking for something without OC and with good battery life which is not based on cyanogen.

try this rom : forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1545001
thank you but isnt there anything on 2.3.6 ?
I think that 2.3.4 isn't a good version..?

It's based on 2.3.4 because in europe (or at least , in italy) the latest update is 2.3.4 . So the rom is based on our stock rom.
And is known that battery life in EU is better then what stock roms on US give.
Try it if u want

Don't know why you would think Nottachtrix has awful battery life. With Faux 1.0GHz, some mild UV, and application management I get up to 40hrs with medium usage, data on all the time, and WiFi on 50% of the time. Since most people charge their phones on a daily/nightly basis, you only need to get through a day (which doesn't amount to 24hrs for the vast majority unless you are speeding).

+ 1. Nottachtrix rom's has good battery life. Its also the best blur rom here, in my opinion...
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
i think blur based by topogigi has better battery life than NottachTrix, but i prefer NottachTrix because that rom have themed
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 2
Well, thanks...I'm on NottachTrix for now.
I just flashed it yesterday and charged over night and in the morning it dropper to 94 in less then 1 hour when i almost didnt use it.
Now it seems to be ok with the ATT stock kernel (The faux kernel makes the phone very hot - i think lol).
Hi.
Can anyone tell me the battery useages of CM7, Longhorn 2.9.3, MIUI and DSC 1.7 compared to each other?
(Assuming using the newest phoenix kernel on the CM7s and MIUI)
With WLAN not used very often - means switching off via Quickmenu when not needed.
Thanks in Advance
nobody?
Why don't you try and then make an ideea, because it all depends how you use it.

that is right... we here no longer care bout the battery life.. since it is really depends on how we use the phone...
for me... i turn off everything that consumes battery and manage to get around 3 days standby even 4 days if i rarely used the streak..
