[Partitioning SD] Link2sd issue - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi!
Today I have rooted my O1 without any problem. After that, I decided to partitionate my 8 GB SD in order to move apps in this way:
6.5 GB fat 32 primary
1 GB ext2 primary
At the moment I cannot download link2sd from the market (because of incompatibility). How can I solve this issue?
My phone data: LG O1 Official 2.3.3 - rooted with SuperOneClick

the author already uploaded the Link2SD installer on his post...

If you update to 2.1 then it's meant to work. There's a guide on Modaco on how to do it.
I am only passing on information that I have searched (mainly through Modaco) for and tried and tested. This is by no means my creation or discovery! And also...dont sue me if you mess your phone up!
First of all, you must be rooted!
Best thing to do before installing apps2sd is to do a factory data reset.
There has been discussions on whether apps2sd overwrites the phones factory defaults. I think the problem lays in an old script of apps2sd, perhaps there is a new on out... I couldnt tell ya! Anyhow, this is not really a problem if you want apps2sd permanently on your phone though. So remember, start from scratch, reset your data.
1. Partition your sdcard and make 3 partition on it.
Example: sdcard is 1 GB
1st partition in FAT32 600mb
2nd partition in ext2 300mb
3th partition as swap 100mb
Im not sure if the swap partition is needed but I made it anyway.
2. Copy the apps2sd folder to the root of the sdcard.
Example: /sdcard/app2sd/
3. Connect your phone from ADB and type this command :
adb shell
su (approve with superuser aplication in your phone)
sh /sdcard/app2sd/app2sd.sh
After a while your phone will reboot.
4. Now check how much internal memory you have (I had 135mb after my clean install of apps2sd. I have never had that much after a factory reset, a hard reset or a flash).
And there you have it folks!
tutorial : how to insert app2sd in optimus
first, im sorry for my english
for app2sd on optimus, you must have root level.
before install app2sd, please check you internal memory (setting-sd card & phone storage)
and remember your free space. biggrin.gif
step:
1.Partition your sdcard (i use paragon manager)
make 3 partition on your sd card.
example : your sdcard is 4 GB
1st partition in FAT32 3 GB
2nd partition in ext2 700mb
3th partition swap 300 mb
2.download this file mediafire[dot]com/?2os3np35b0fmc60
3.extract the download file
Added automatic installation app2sd. Just run APP2SD.bat
Unnecessary SDK TOOLS
what happen in your memory?
good luck

swap like a virtual memory may be.
i think phone need a virtual memory for app2sd.
Swap is like a linux swap (as in swap space for the RAM), but from what I read, it's not actually needed
Ah I see! Well thanks for that info. Its a bit too late now lol but atleast I know for next time. Thanks

Hey, I have an unlocked LG Optimus, if I set it to factory default will that lock it again? Or can I do this without setting my phone to factory default?
Old post but for reference's sake, am posting this here.
I used MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition for making the partition.
I had a 16GB microSDHC but I made only a 512mB ext2 and left the rest as FAT32.
GT540 was designed to handle only 140mB of usable internal memory. So, making a huge ext2 partition will considerably slow down your phone. I would recommend to keep it below 512mB. Most often, you won't install more than 200-300mB worth of apps. Most games have their extra data downloaded to the SD and only apk and dex files reside in the phone.
And, I found that Link2SD was better than apps2sd. I never used apps2sd because by the time I wanted apps2sd, Link2SD was out. Check it out.

@nibras_reeza
i am having 8 GB memory card. can you please tell me the steps how to do partion..
why dont you just put 2.2 or 2.3 on your phone. the roms are available in the developer forum.
I found installing cm7 made it work. Although i lost the functionality of my camera app2sd worked other than that it is a great rom.
I agree, link2sd is far more better than apps2sd.
Also u need to upgrade ur firmware from 1.6 and 2.1 to higher roms, 2.3 is good.
So to fully use ur android, root your device, install a rom manager, then clockworkmod and superuser, there you can enjoy.

My phone is rooted.
any help????
Your options would be scripts like DarkTremor or (the slightly more user-friendly) Link2SD.
But be warned: both are not 100% stable... I've finally removed DarkTremor after a lot of issues: How about upgrading to a custom ROM instead?
Hi.
I dont want to start new topic so I use this one to describe my problem.
I read a lot of webs to find solution but here's comes some problems with that.
I've got Samsung Gio S5560 and 4GB SD card. After creating 2 primary partitions FAT32 and ext2 link2sd says that "no space left on device" and i cannot do anything. Even when I use 2GB card or create partition f.e. ext3 it doesn't works.
Can anyone help with that ?
Sorry for my english. I hope is understandable
Of course phone had been rooted.
Android 2.2.1
Regards.
I'm not sure how these scripts determine which partition to use... have you tried partitioning through ClockworkRecovery? Maybe they need the partitions in a certain order or (more likely) some other requirement. CR would very likely take any such requirements into account.
P.S. Your English sounds fine to me, but this doesn't come from a native speaker either, so...
I used to create partitions MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition. On YT there ale some tutorials so I used them. At the beginning I create FAT32 and then ext2. Maybe at the morning I try some new configs with my SD card.

Insufficient Storage Available

Hello guys!
1 month ago I had this problem with my LG l9, i had loads of memory free but whenever I tried to install any apps it would tell me I didn't have any storage available. I am rooted. I restored my phone and nothing happened. Then, I managed to install storage analyser, and saw that one of the folders was taking up like 10GB of space and the app was telling me I only had -8GB of space (yes, negative!)
I deleted the folder (from gameloft) and then I managed to install some apps. Now i have the same problem. Some apps install perfectly, like riptide 2, even if they are huge, and some small apps like chrome and google play music don't
What can I do to fix it? Restoring won't help and neither does storage analyser....

Have you tried Link2SD? If not, it does work. I just set it up on my P769. First you'll need to enable init.d support. Just create a folder named 'init.d' in /system/etc. You will also need to partition your SDCARD so that is has two partitions. A primary FAT32 partition and a primary ext2, ext3, or ext4 partition. The second partition is the one Link2SD will actually use. I have a 32 GB SDCARD with 3 partitions. FAT32 partition is 27 GB, 1st ext4 partition is 4 GB, and the 3rd partition is 1 GB for SWAP if I get around to seeing if SWAP works with the stock kernel or not. SWAP is not necessary and more than likely is NOT supported by the stock kernel anyway.
I'd suggest looking in to the Link2SD thread prior to attempting this.

[Q] miniCM10 w/ link2sd + a2sdgui Trouble

Hi guys,
I have a Sony ericsson X10 mini pro with nAa's Kernel 2.6.32.60-nAa-05 and miniCM10-4.1.0-20130518-NIGHTLY and I also flashed:
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip,
miniCM7-SEMC_kb.zip and
querty_br.zip
On top of that a internal memory of 192MB and a 16GB SDHC class10 SD card.
Boring story part (with more details and links and stickie just in case I forget something ) :
So far so good until I start installing apps and noticed that with a couple the memory was full. After a little research I found link2SD was the solution,
the SD card I have is more than fit for the job.
But then starter the problems, after I partitioned, with MiniTool,
my SD card as FAT32 (~13GB) and ext-N (2, 3 & 4) (~1GB) as primary none worked (at least for long).
I had some success with Ext-3 but the 2nd time I restarted my phone, Scrips were nowhere to be seen nor any linking of some kind.
Then (after more Googling) I tried both partitions as FAT32 and there it was working cool again.
Well went to download more apps, but memory was full, how so? I added a GB to it!
Found that I would, also, need to use A2SDGUI and it's Scripts (Version 2.7.5.3 Beta 04).
Flashed the scripts and then tried to run A2SDGUI not working pop's this error window:
Exiting A2SDGUI
Could not start for one of these reasons:
Your device is not rooted
A2SD scripts could not be found
No EXT partition found
Click to collapse
Now I'm in trouble because android DOES NOT mount my 2nd partition if it's filesystem is not FAT32
(perhaps this is a scripting problem instead of Filesystem support ? )
And A2SDGUI is no longer being developed/suported.
Bottom line:
I installed link2SD but it only works when my 2nd partition is also FAT32, or else it won't mount,
and the phone internal memory continues to get shorter as I install apps.
Then I installed A2SDGUI and (Flashed) it's Scripts to try to JOIN the internal memory(/data)and SD card's 2nd partition so,
android doesn't give that annoying low memory error message.
I'm having trouble making andoid think that /data is ~1.2GB.
Can someone help me out on this? How can I "make" a "bigger" internal memory?
I searched Google but I couldn't find any GOOD answer to my question.
