[Q] titanium back up won't aquire root, I'm rooted. - HTC EVO 3D

Although I have superuser operating fine with terminal emulator, and when I type SU into terminal it gives me "#" sign, Titanium Backup won't acquire root. Does anyone have any ideas?
Edit: I've tried reinstalling TB and seeing if it's upgraded/patched.
Edit2: I've installed busybox and made sure SU is updated. TB still won't find root even though it says i'm rooted in TB.

Use es file explorer from the market.go into settings and check box to show hidden files then look in /data/bin/ delete any files in that folder then reboot and TB should be fine.

Another way to fix it is to clear data. Go to settings-applications-titanium backup and press clear data.

[A] Titanium Backups working with Perm-Root

So, it seems that everything I have tried after s-OFF, installing perm-root, etc has gained root access without issue, except Titanium Backups.
it's the only thing that says it can't obtain root. just wondering if anyone else noticed this, have fixed it. etc.
UPDATE: answered by WillJitsu
I fixed it. Here's what I had to do:
I had used this to obtain temp root in the past: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151735
Those steps had me create this directory: /data/bin/
Within that directory, I had sqlite, su, etc. so I simply deleted all the files in that folder, rebooted, and Titanium Backup now works!
I hope it helps everyone else.
I'm having the same problem. Tried everything I can think of, but no luck.

Nope, Titanium backups will tell you if Busybox is installed or not and give you that option.
it doesn't even get the the point of seeing if busybox is installed or not. flat out says "NO ROOT" and that's that.
I have busybox installed.

Yes. All of our other root apps work just fine. I'm blocking ads, Root Explorer works, etc. Titanium Backup is the only app that doesn't recognize root.

Like WillJitsu, I also have Busybox installed in /system/xbin, and terminal can access root, and busybox functions, however TitBack says it doesn't have root.
mine works fine weird
The only thing I can think of is that one of the temp root methods I used in the past has messed something up, but I have no idea what to do to remove all remnants of that.

I would probably just wait till reliable roms release and perform a factory data reset =(
EDIT: I should probably add that I'm running 1.11 and never did any of the temp-root methods and mine is working fine after installing the latest version of SU/BusyBox
i have Superuser installed but TB wont work says no root :/

Busybox dl didn't work. What's happened is one of the temp root methods put the files in a place that TB could find and they're no longer "registered" in that location. Deleting out the junk fixes the patch issues and helps most folks.
Download busybox from inside TB by pressing problems. It should fix after that.

freezing apps that you dont know what they do is a very easy way to get a bootloop
you can use the system dump to fix it if you know how to use adb a bd push the apps you froze
alternatively
if you can get the phone to connect to your computer you can use adb shell to unfreeze you frozen apps with the following commands
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
su
cd /system/app
ls
//look at what apps have .fro extensions added
rn appname.apk.fro appname.apk
//repeat
that will fix it
Contacts FC fix?
So I screwed up and deleted the yahoo files instead of freeze them on titanium...getting the dreaded contacts force close issue. How can I use this system dump to restore those deleted files? Can I install the apk's through something like astro? Sorry, total noob apparently....had no idea yahoo would have anything to do with contacts..oh well. Thanks.

So is it as easy as doing a copy all from the system/app folder from the dump onto the razr's system/app folder using a file manager like astro?

not at all. be my guest if you want to try. A. i dont think that astro can access the root folder last time i tried, might have changed since, you would need to use a file manager that can access, mount rw/ro, and change permissions of the system files and/or folders in the root.
B. i tried it already and everytime you try to reinstall the system apps through a file manager it says installation failed.
You have to put all the system apps in the folder AND set the right permissions

Well, it appears that if you were like me and deleted one of those applications, you're SOL. I've diligently went through the system dump provided, and added all the items I was missing into my /system/app, changed all the permissions to the correct ones, reboot..and still nothing. Even did a full system wipe/factory reset afterwards to no avail. I know this method worked with other phones, but apparently, the RAZR kernal doesn't allow for it. It seems the only solution would be if a SBF was created that can fully restore the phone to factory install...fingers crossed! So what can we take away from this...don't be an idiot like me and delete apps...just freeze them. I think I must be the only one who screwed that up...=/

Make sure Nfc.apk is in /system because if for some reason it is missing it will produce those results of the settings being missing. If it is in /system pull a clean one from a stock build or elsewhere and paste into system and reboot.
Bigger problem now. My su superuse app crashed and now my phone is saying no root found. I tried to do moonshine again and it failed on me several times. It says I'm missing the binary part. Nope. I was in the same boat. I think that I got a copy of it from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463116 Scroll down about 11 replies and there will be a link for it. Just unzip it and place it in the /system/bin directory and make sure the permissions are correct. Then rerun "TB Restore Fixer". I don't recall, but I think that you'll need to run TiBu to restore the files again...
