Hi guys, I want to know what is the best rom for AT & T Atrix, I tried cherryblur 1.4d, but I have reboots, tried another rom cherry kernel-AT & T but does not work lapdock.
I have the Atrix rooted with the bootloader unlocked, is there any way to install the official rom without getting a hard brick?
Thanks,
Alex
It depends what you are looking for. Its really trial and test to are what you prefer.
ninja rom worked well for me.
I'm currently using Alien Rom and its a beast. Using faux's kernel.

i prefer alien ROM. i think kenn'll pull us through this mess of too many ROMs and be the top dog.
alien is meh
i like cherry better
its all personal preference
Im on Alien about to get on faux's Kernal. Did anyone notice that the menu button unlocks the phone too?? and in my camera/camcorder res settings i cant see ne thing but the green dots on the right until i click and hold. its like white text on white bg til i click. ive had some apps fc too just hoping the cache gets filled pretty fast as i read being deodexed the system cache needs to be built up and the os will run fast
I might just try Ninja rom. I seen that 1 first and then i seen the new alien. i love cwm :-D
I'm rockin Cherryπ right now....haven't gotten around to flashing a kernel yet.

not sure why you would like cherry better. i'm not crazy about navalynt. i think alien has a lot more potential if kenn gets on another dev to work with; seems as though he's too busy for his own ROM.
πCrust totaly a winner! Fast, stable, froyo like battery life, no FCs. Perfect!
I'm on CherryBlur last version, and very happy.
Do you think its worth to move to Alien ? its way better ?

I like alien because it is closer to the old gingerblur than any of the other roms..i wish someone would make a truely AOSP rom though.

I'm definitely digging the PiCrust ROM. HDMI Webtop, 1080+ video recording, hella fast, 1% battery and the overall flexability of the ROM make it awesome!

Speaking of the flexibility of the ROM, have you tried any themes on it yet?

Most of the theme related aspects I want are either in the ROM already or I use GO Launcher EX. The only thing I'd like to add, theme-wise, is a transparent status bar. Which, if anyone can do or knows where to find, would be cool?

I was inquiring more about theme packages like Sensual GB or Elegant Steel??

I personally have the Hero on Sprint, my dad has the Eris, is there a ROM that's similar to DarchDroid/Cyanogenmod for the Eris? Overclock, senseless, and Apps2SD are the most important features I'm after.
Have you looked in our "Droid Eris Android Development" section?

Yeah, looking through the list of ROMs here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649705
Any particular recommendations given my preferences?
EDIT: List should be updated, looks like ErisLightningBolt is the one I'm looking for.
White widow. But go to android forums because someone always finds a way to get him banned off here so it isnt very up yo date.

WW is a great AOSP rom, and if you wait it out when KaosFroyo is finalized it will be superb to say the least. Diamond in the rough.
I tried it out a while back but I couldn't get a2sd to work so I went back to white widow. But it was pretty fast and smooth.

Hey everybody, I just order a Fascinate today and was interested in what ROM you guys/girls prefer to use. Im switching from a droid 2, and previously a droid 1, which had a great ROM community. I think its fantastic that there are so many Galaxy S phones but I think it is unfortunate that Roms are not applicable across models.
In addition to selecting what rom you are using it would be great to say what works great and what is still buggy. Please let me know if I forgot anything.

Welcome to the community!
Personally, I've been using jt1134's Super Clean with AOSP. Bubby323's Magic with AOSP is looking very promising. I tested version 0.2 for a couple days. and I think 0.3 will be a winner.
We're just getting started here in month 2 of the Fascinate's release, and there has already been some spectacular progress, mainly in the kernel department. There are some familiar names from the D1 community at work over here, and once FroYo drops for this phone, things should REALLY take off! (Seriously, who wants to work on a version of the OS that is already out of date, and will be replaced any minute now?)
I am loving that Blue Breeze!
Actually thought there would be more out there by now. Or at least some themes. I am sure, in time!

Well, I just finished an Android app that would have taken most devs about a half an hour. It took me a week, and I now have bald spots.
So I guess time is relative!
stock rom and just remove what you want

so how are you liking it compared to your droid 2?
using Zinc V1.0 right now. So far i'm liking it, but there's not a whole lot of difference in anything right now. I've tried jt's clean, blue breeze, aosp magic and Zinc, and they're pretty much all variations on a theme. not that there's anything wrong with that, i'm simply saying whatever you pick you can't go wrong, and it's easy to change anything you don't like about any one of them.
As the title says, what's your favorite ROM and why? Why didn't you stay on that rom and go to the one your on? Or you can explain a short review/experience with them.

Hmm, I've always flashed roms by Team Whiskey.
I think out of all of them, Nero v5 and Bionix-V 1.2 would tie as my favorites as of now.
Both are extremely snappy and smooth. The battery life is incredible. As of now, I'm currently running Bionix-V 1.2 and as of this last charge, my phone has been off the charger for 51 hrs (17% left) with light/moderate usage.
TBH, I could've stayed on Nero v5, but I just moved on because I wanted to experience the new hotness from TW.
(Actually, that's a pro and a con when it comes to TW: everytime you flash one of their roms, it takes only 4-5 days before a new one comes out and then you've got to debate whether or not to flash the new one, lol.)
my Rom of choice : Di11igaf

As expected, anything by Einherjar Dev Team will be my choice.
That said, this is going to be different for everyone. It depends what you want in a Rom.
Masters roms are always very visually appealing.
TW is who I studied. They make a solid rom, everytime. They also have access to every kerneler there is, except for freelance supercurio.
EDT is very young but growing fast. These roms are set out to be created as something that does yet exist.
Eugene is the hero of anyone who has ever had to recover from a soft brick. Solid roms.
The lone rom-ers are starting to bring out some very solid products.
Lol, I guess thats all I have to say right now.

I'm a big fan of the team einherjar Roms. they seem to be the most stable to me and have the least amount of issues. i recently flashed bionix V 1.2.1 but i has issues trying to download apps from the market even after reflashing like three times. needless to say i flashed back to trigger 2.0. thats just my 2 cents.
Nero v3 because it had the best battery life. But i dont want to revert back because bionix has some things that nero did not and i will take them over the battery. But yea i love battery and have heard that axura has excellent battery life.
Cyanogen mod 7
Pretty stable, fast and statusbar widgets.

Cm7 had a few bumps along the way but sticking it out has definitely been worth it. Everything runs better than perfect. Great wifi, gps that locks in under 10secs, super smooth and super fast. Not to mention an amazing amount of customizability.

As far as I know this the only kernel that's current with cm7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970543
You flash it just like a rom; wipe cache/dalvik from recovery and flash the zip. And of you ever want the stock kernel back you just wipe cache/dalvik and re-flash cm7. You wont lose any data/settings.

Thank you very much! Just flashed it. It's so nice to be back to loving my phone again
I'm a big fan of Liberated 2.2.2, I think I was using it the first day I had my phone. Everything is working perfect and with moderate use I can squeeze 2 days out of the battery. I live in a little bit of a valley so at home I put the phone on Edge and use wifi if I want to go online. Haven't tried CM7 in a few months so I probably will again at some point, just being lazy. CM7 or CM8 w/sense 3.0? When that gets released I'll be all over it!
Ditto-ed on CM7, did it for a friend, and all his friends on the later models (stock roms wildfire s and like) are still wowing XD

This is no diss to the developers because I very much appreciate their work!
And I haven't tried all the ROMs
Still, for my suite of apps, for the smoothest and most reliable op of the phone and for the longest battery life..I am back to stock. I have frozen apps, I am running the .97 radio (which has made a huge difference to me in reliability and throughput) but I am stock. Mainly, I had issue with the various incarnations of the Faux kernel and always wound up with lost widgets (I like my widgets I tried all the suggestions and still, at some point I would lose widgets with the kernel. Since this is the basis of most ROMs that did it for me (and it has to be the kernel since I had the problem on the stock ROM with the kernel).
Good luck...it is easy to go back to stock if you don't like the various ROMs.
I intend to try CM7 later on when the Faux kernel and the integration with Setcpu (both cores) is resolved and CM7 has webtop integration (I use the lapdock every day).
I've used a few of the ROM's out there and right now I am on HomeBase version 2 with Faux's latest kernel. I will say that the version of HomeBase is pretty close to stock but it has a bunch of enhancements (zipalign, memory tweaks, etc). My suggestion is to get to flashing and see what suits you. What I like you may hate. CM7 is worth a try as well and I may switch over when it become official (or I may wait for MIUI).
As for the widget issue...fix permissions fixed it for me, hundreds of restarts and I still have my widgets.
You should check out the dev section...good ROM's and good reading!!!
