Very nice. Will try when it's 2.3.3
Thank you for developing for the X2
thank you.wating for your work on 2.3.3

do i need to wipe data and cache to install?
EDIT: nevermind, i read the instructions.
Very nice work, with a very promising dev. I like the changes, and they seem to be your work as well. This is definitely the most tweaked (for the better IMO) ROM available for this phone.
I would be trying this out (but like all the others, waiting on a 2.3.3 update). I feel like it would be hard to go back, as I love 2.3.3 so much. Sorry to be a downer though.
Good work
I followed the instructions but now i cant see my screen i will turn it on, it will show the motorola dual-core logo but then its just black any ideas on how to fix this?
Bug
When the battery dies on your phone, it will be in a soft brick state.
Solution:
Boot into standard recovery (Hold Vol. Down while power up. When text pops up, hit Vol. Down until Android Recovery pops up. Press Up. Once in recovery press Vol. Up & Down to pop up menu.)
Select Reboot Now.
Droid X2 is unbricked.

just did this still having the same problem
More than anything else I wanted to thank you for your work. Looking forward to a gingerbread version!
Like the ROM so far, aside from the branded theme (I prefer GB AOSP myself)
Is the DPI on this ROM set higher than normal? It feels like the UI elements are smaller than they were before.

You may have to reflash, which means SBF and then reroot and all of that.

Yes, I believe it's from an unclean shutdown as my phone didn't even tell me it was about to die and then all of a sudden I had Low Battery Warning, 5% Battery Warning and then *Powering Off* all within 30 seconds. Although I had a similar issue on stock the first time it died.
Also I am unable to download certain Google Apps, I've tried Google Earth and Google+, both are missing the install button.
Apparently after flashing, the apps are no longer compatible with our phones... (Locality issue, the rom is based off of Minimal X which is based off of the Chinese DX2 Rom.)
Google+: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148305
same issue, SBF back to stock as we speak. IDK if I'm going to try again...

This used to happen to me on Minimal X. What I did was take out the battery, plug my X2 into the charger and turned it on. It'd go into the bootstrap recovery, and then I'd pop the battery back in. You could let it sit in recovery for a while so the battery can get enough charge to boot, or just reboot, and it should go back to booting regularly.

Am I understanding the feature list correctly? Are the listed turbo-chargers actually INCLUDED in this ROM? Or is it that the ROM merely supports those features if a user has them? Please clarify. I'm seriously interested in improving performance. If this can do it then I will definitely give it a try. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys am quite new at this however i've been doing some research on how to install [ROM]KaosFroyo V30 on my Eris but i have not found any instructions or guide and so i was wondering if anyone here could help? by the way i am running the android 2.1 version released by Verizon an HTC and hopefully this won't be a problem.
Google is your friend, also the Eris root app might make things easier.
Sent from my FroyoEris using XDA App
first question is are you rooted?
i think the phone's rooted now!
well i used the eris root app and when it asked me to i used the KaosFroyo V30 zip and it seemed to install ok, then i boot up the device and after an initial boot screen i get a screen saying android in blue and like a white light inside i don't know if that makes any sense but that's where the phone stays. i guess i am rooted now but then phone won't fully boot up

good luck and remember to always do a nand backup before flashing anything...saves more lives than seatbelts
The thing that you did different was wiping caches before flashing. That's why it works now.
BTW, NAND backups are important, but the one you made this time was worthless.
A NAND backup makes a copy of your system. Unfortunately your system wasn't functional when you created it.
Use this as a lesson. Always do a NAND before you change anything. That way you can restore to a working system.

Hi guys I was messing around on the HTC DROID ERIS and I may have damage my phone. I change the wrong NV items. 435,436,1192,1194 and now phone keeps turning on and off. it only gets to the skate boarding green dudes. I try adding a custom rom but i dont think i am rooted. I try doing the system wipe but as soon as it reboots to enter that mode it reboots and reboots again same system. I can only update with the PB00IMG.zip but does not changes anything. I can only keep it stable on the hboot usb which I dont know what else to do with that. anyone has any idea on how to correct this issue...
(Edited 8/1/11)
Gingerbread update for the droid x2 is now available to soak testers (2.3.3) !
Non-Rooted (stock) Gingerbread update file
Pre-Rooted Gingerbread Update file
(Links are from p3Droid's website, you'll need to create an account there, which you should do anyway- he's the one that did all the work pre-rooting!)
Thanks to P3Droid for his work on pre-rooting the gingerbread update!
Instructions:
Download Either one of the aforementioned links (the prerooted if you want root, the stock if you don't)
Rename whichever file you choose to "update.zip" and place it in the ROOT of your external SDCard.
-----
If you downloaded the pre-rooted:
Your phone needs to be in complete stock for the update to work. SBF it if you debloated or rooted.
After SBFing, do a factory reset. Reactivate your phone, and reroot it using Gingerbreak. (Credits go to their respective developers)
Install Tenfar Lin's recovery. (Credits go to their respective developers)
Boot into system recovery and install update from sdcard. Select update.zip and install! It should automatically perform another factory reset, but if it doesn't, perform another manually.
Start up, reactivate, and you're done!
----
If you downloaded the non-rooted:
Your phone needs to be in complete stock for the update to work. SBF it if you debloated or rooted.
Power off your phone, and enter stock recovery. Select "Install from SDcard:update.zip" or whatever the command is called.
Once finished, reboot and you should be set!
-----
If you are unsure on how to SBF your phone:
Download daywalker04's SBF leak file and extract it.
Download and install the latest moto drivers from Motorola's website itself.
Download and install RSDLite 5.3 here. Reboot your computer.
Start RSDLite and select the downloaded SBF file.
Power your phone off. Turn it back on, and as soon as you see the "DualCore" screen, hold the power button and the volume down button.
Once you see text at the top, use the volume down button until you see "RSD" and hit the up-volume button.
Plug your phone into your computer.
RSDLite should detect a Daytona device - select it and hit start. Once completed, your phone should reboot and be at complete stock.

Its rolling now. Just updated! Good luck kids.... I couldn't grab the update, so hopefully someone else does.
Off to play now!
I am indeed rooted- but the update is only downloading, not installing. So I don't know if it'll install on rooted and debloated phones. I'll post back when I find out.

Yep, I'm in NC
I also have no notice and it says my device is up to date in About phone > System updates, even after a phone reboot.
Somebody post the file!
Post The File(s)!
I got it too! I am downloading on wifi now, 10% done!
P3Droid should have the zip soon. I am still wondering how this is going to work out since there is a new GB kernel. Will a pre-rooted rom with a signed kernel be able to be flashed with the bootstrap?
No time for any review per say, but its fast, and feels solid compared to Froyo on this thing. A lot of new icons too. Anyhow, off to bed.
70%, going MUCH faster on WIFI then 3G.. (Obviously).
Now i did not SBF, i just unfroze everything with BloatFreezer.. I am rooted too.
I'd love to post the file if icould find it, but I can't..

Hmm dunno if it didn't go, cause about 1/2 way they the package screen it stopped with a Yellow Exclamation mark, rebooted and it and I'm back to froyo i think.. Looks like i am gonna have to sbf it just to make sure and repudiate it.

using v0.2.2. I just sbf'ed to 2.3.3 and am letting the batt charge again and am going to try to wipe the battery stats and see if that works. Thanks for the help, I will post my results.
Well just finished sbf'ing and flashing v0.2.2 again making sure to wipe dalvik, battery, cache, and data factory reset. Still get the battery message that says battery not recognized wil not charge.
If there are not any other ideas by tomorrow morning when I get up I will sbf again and try to download again and re-flash v0.2.2. Maybe a file was corrupt or something, I dunno.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Are you using a Motorola battery? Sometimes generics don't play well with custom roms.

yep stock battery.
Well i have other issues other than the battery. The phone randomly goes crazy and just starts acting like I am hitting buttons, opening programs and typing random letters. I tried re-downloading the rom and re-flashing but still the same issues with the battery. I guess I will sbf back to stock and wait for another update. who knows it may be an issue with my phone since no one else seems to have this problem.
Thanks

Yes this happend to me. What you did was probally flashed oved 2.2. Thats a no.no. Heres the fix. RSD flash the official verizon 2.2. then root with gingerbreak. Then install custom recovery. Enter recovery mode. Wipe all. You must do this for it to work.Flash P3's pre rooted gingerbread. After install then go into recovery, wipe again then flash alien rom. It worked for me. You cant cross flash roms, they have to go into this order. 2.2, 2.3.3, 2.3.4.

I appreciate your effort to help but this is not what happened. I flashed from the official Verizon 2.3.3, then used red lite to she back and tried again. I have tried this rom at least 4 times now everytime I get the same results.
Dragon, thanks for your willingness to help. Basically what happens is the rom v0.2.2 flashes with no errors. When the phone boots I immediately get a message saying that my battery is not recognized and that I need to install a moto battery. After I hit the ok button the phone acts like a pc when you mash on the keyboard all different apps open up, random keys get typed, when I hit the home button the programs just open back up like ten at a time. Its kinda hard to explain. When I get off work tomorrow I will try to reflash ATRIX alien and post a video of what is going on.

Unfortunately, there appears to be no real solution to this. I hate to say that, but no one else is having these issues, then it must simply be a problem with your phone. I wish you luck, but there's not much I can do if your phone is acting up. I wish there was more I could do to help.

Thanks for your help I don't know what the issue is, it doesn't happen on stock gingerbread just on the ATRIX rom. Thanks anyway. I will keep an eye on your dev thread and will try again when the next patch comes out.
when i was on the alien port i did not have any battery problems. did the same thing as you sbf'ed to the official verizon 2.3.3 rooted and then onto the alien rom. my friend was having some issues however and what helped him was sbf'ing to 2.2.2, then rooting, then flashing p3's pre-root gingerbread onto that. after that his phone accepted the alien rom just fine. not sure what if any difference there is between the methods but it helped him.
Yeah like I said you cAnt do that . You have to flash 2.2 first

No problem. Turn off the phone. Hold power and volume down at same time until you see writing on top of screen. Volume down until you get to android recovery then hit the up volume. This will bring you to the triangle with android. Hit volume down and up at same time. Now you are in android recovery. Wipe data and cache and reboot. You will be fine from there

I was curious to see how ICS worked so I finally gave in and flashed Black Widow ROM. I followed this exact instructions:
Requirements:
•Android Version 2.3.6 (6.12.17x - 6.12.181)
•Safestrap 1.09 or Bootstrap v2 (safestrap 1.07 will not work)
•Download and move zip/s to sdcard-ext
•Reboot into Recovery
•Create a Backup! (dont say i didnt warn you)
•YOU MUST Wipe Data/Factory Reset
•Wipe Cache partition
•(in Advanced) Wipe Dalvik cache
•(in Mounts and Storages) Format System
•Install zip from sdcard
•Flash ROM (do not flash Gapps or DarkGapps)
•Reboot System now
This isn't my first time using Bootstrap. I flashed many ROMs using it on my D2. It installed and then I rebooted. Now it sits on the screen with Motorola symbol with Dual Core Technogoly. I did make a backup but I'd really like to use this ROM before reverting back. Any suggestions?

If it's stuck at the M logo you'll probably have to RSDLite back to GB. Remember, that M logo can be there for up to 5 to 6 minutes on the first boot, if that's not applicable then fastboot that bad larry back! (I got to be VERY proficient at flashing back, let me know if you need help)
Is there anyway I can get my phone in working order without having to RSD back to GB? I don't understand why it didn't work when I follow the instructions and I have experience in flashing.

I haven't really messed with Safestrap or bootstrap that much, I tend to just run one OS. The problem is that you can't even get to the start up screen for those. Simple when you think about it, right now (if i understand correctly) you're stuck at the M, which leaves you only 1 possible way out of that screen and that's to send it to recovery which will only wipe or RSD your phone.
Anyone else think of any other options that he has or experience with this ROM??
Yea I went to stock recovery to wipe data/cache just to see what happened. Of course that didn't do anything. In order to RSD, what screen do I need to be on? I assume the screen its frozen on will not be the screen I need.

You'll need to hold down both Vol buttons when you power it up then go to AP Fastboot. Do you need a link to the tutorial? You can YouTube RSDLite DROID RAZR and should get plenty. Let me know if you need any additional info.

I think I can figure the rest out. That's all I really needed to know. Thanks!
Also MAKE SURE you're at at least 50% battery!!

Not sure how I can check this....phone was on 66% before ROM install but screen is stuck on and I don't know how to power off phone. Battery is draining but more than likely slowly.
This was a previous post on another thread and from what I understand it works:
"Try following Steps:
Boot in AP Fastboot > Connect your Wall Charger > Press Power
If you're a lucky your RazR will pass the red M and jump into the Battery Screen.
If your system is broken, you have to order an Factory Cable. With this you can flash the correct system signed or use the modded Utility for CDMA Leaks, to get your Phone back to life."
When they say "Factory Cable" is this not just a USB cable?
Nope. Its different from what i understand. Thanks for reminding me to get one on eBay before all the ICS madness starts. Lol.
I mean you can risk it but I've never had to mess with it as I'm almost always above 70% so I'm kinda out of the loop on that problem.

I tried what you said...Went to AP Fastboot and it only goes back to the Motorola screen. So am I completely screwed here? Thought I need that screen to RSD?

You just need to get to the AP fastboot screen then flash it. I think you'll be okay to flash. I've seen people do it with 40%. Just make sure as soon as it boots you put that puppy on the charger.
Should take about 15-20 mins. If you're gonna do it, best to do it sooner rather than later.

I don't even know if I can get to that AP Fastboot screen. When I try it, it does nothing and goes back to my Motorola screen. I'm about to be off work so I can see what happens when I have a laptop around.
Yeah you're gonna need the laptop. Also, when you select AP fastboot you'll want to hit the vol+ button to select it. Hitting the power button just restarts the phone. Vol+ = Enter. That's probably what you did the first time.

Indeed it is. Maybe I can try the charger now.
Yeah, its like learning a foreign language sometimes but with only 3 physical buttons they have to make do. Lol!

Hold the power button and volume down to force a hardware reboot.

It's actually Power button + volume up and down and yes I've done this.
