Hi there i was hoping that somebody could help me out with my problem. Yesterday i made my flyer succesfully S-off and a perm rooting. I installed the custom rom from 【7/19/2011】【ROM】[Flyer] Stock ROOTED Full Phone Support, also succesfully. Now there was a new custom rom today and i wanted to install it on my flyer, i reset it to factory settings before installing the custom rom. The back up from Clockworkmod from the factory rom was on my sd card. As u might guess he didnt want to install the custom rom (that i copied to the sd card), if i put it in hboot/fastboot it shows with the green letters that it is reading the sd card but says the zip file is not good. If i want to boot in recovery it shows the white screen with the green htc letters on it and it doens show the menu of Clockworkmod. Is there a way to solve this or is it possible to install Clockworkmod new again? The flyer is permanently rooted and s-off.
thank u

Hey guys,
I am doing this rom flash for a mate of mine.
I am trying to flash the tastyginger rom, but i am having some real difficulties while flashing the rom.
He has a dutch htc hero from hi. He has the latest rom according to the update utility thingy. it is the 2.1-update1 version. i believe i've read something about nand locks, and i think his phone has exactly that. the first step to flash a new rom is to root the phone. Rooting the phone works, gives no errors.
But when i try to flash the recovery image, it says it cant find the flash_image file.
it is should be located in the system folder on the phone but it isn't. i've tried to install it with android sdk, but the thing just is really acting weird. htc sync isn't working with the phone. it says there isn't a phone in the usb.
Now to make it clear, can somebody give me a clear tutorial on how to flash the thing correctly? I've done this before on my hd2. i've flashed the cyanogen 2.6 rom to my phone.
have you tried rom manager to flash rom its the easiest way i know. the way i rooted was with universal androot apk then installed rom manager clicked on flash clockworkmod recovery then went to install rom from sd card in rom manager scrolled down to the rom i wanted to flash choice it and pressed ok i then select backup existing rom and wipe data and cache and pressed ok then it will ask reboot and install and press ok and let it do its thing then wait untill it reboots and it should of installed rom which you wait to boot should have a custom splash screen that comes up and wait until your prompted to input details and such. hope this helps.
hey, thanks for the advice.
i let him try this method, but when he chose the htc hero gsm to install the cwm, the app refused to install it and gave this error message:An error occured while attempting to run privileged commands.
I forget to mention that the method you posted, that we already tried it.
But thanks for the effort!
pretty certain this is the tut. i used, i also had to use the gold card method -.-;

rom manager has been down lately everyone has had trouble flashing clockwork recovery, but ra recovery second from bottom is a secondary choice however other features of rom manager might not work if you use this you will have to boot into recovery manually.you also need super user to use this as well.
http://zenthought.org/content/project/flashrec
Use this apk, i have always used this method!
Download clockwork or ra recovery rename it to recovery.img and copy to sdcard
Backup recovery with flashrec
then type sdcard/recovery.img
flash recovery and done!
I've done the recovery succesfully at the guys phone. It works bloody well. Thanks dudes! You can lock it up if you want to.

Hello,
I got my LG Optimus V on February 12,about a week or two later i decided to root it,i use the method explained here: forum(Dot)androidcentral(Dot)com/optimus-v-rooting-roms-hacks/57485-how-root-lg-optimus-v(Dot)html
everything went perfect, all the root required apps worked flawless, anyways, i installed a custom boot which replaced the default "ANDROID" logo right after the virgin mobile screen, for about 2 months everything worked perfect, last night i decided to edit some things with the build property editor on the absolute system tools app Here: appbrain(Dot)com/app/absolute-system-root-tools/com.canvs2321.absolute.system[/url]
the only things i edited were the things that said "VirginMobile/Virgin Mobile" and switched that to "JGar"and the version from "2.2.1" to X
I decided to save the customization and rebooted,it loaded the lg logo, the virgin mobile logo, and then the custom boot, instead of working like always,it just freezes a couple of seconds right before the lock screen is supposed to come up
i am still able to boot into the (Volume+,Home,Power)recovery menu so i factory reset it,that didnt work,it still freezes at the last boot before lockscreen
can anybody help me?
Im a noob at this and sorry if im not supposed to add links
If it helps,i have another LG Optimus V which is full stock,no root, fully functional if i need to copy some files from it.
Thank you
recovery factory reset = deleting everything from your phone.
You need to reinstall a rom and start over. If you made a back up, reload that. Otherwise you are sol.
Well,i have what is supposedly the stock rom,a recovery image file, and a flash image file, all i dont know is how to load them onto the phone,is there a program or guide that helps me?
last thing is that when i rooted it,i never installed a custom recovery menu, just the android system recovery<3e> menu with 4 options, reboot now, apply sdcard:Update.zip,Wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache partition
The easiest thing you can do if you just want to get back to stock is download the stock rom from the development thread. Rename it to update.zip. Place it on the micro sd card, and use the recovery to flash it. But all of your settings, apps, and what not are all gone for good since you did a wipe.
Ok, i have the stock rom now,my phone says that it needs a signature or something,is there a way that i can bypass that? I dont really care about the apps, just as long as i fix my phone,im all good to go.
In the custom recovery, instead of the install update.zip option, use the install zip from sdcard option. Then before you select the zip file, hit the option to disable signature verification. Then go ahead and install.
I dont have a custom recovery menu, the only thing custom i have on it is the droid x boot, which worked perfectly fine,is there a way to install the custom recovery menu? because i turn it on,lg boot, virgin mobile boot, droid x boot then crash
The easiest thing you can do at this point is install a custom recovery so that you an install a working copy of the stock rom. Follow this guide: http://forum.androidcentral.com/opt...ks/73168-how-install-roms-your-new-phone.html
Use the first recovery listed on that page. It should work. Once you have the stock rom loaded, you won't even notice the recovery, but you'll be able to backup and restore your phone if you ever break it again.
Dear XDA Developers,
I have an HTC Flyer 3G 32 GB device upgraded to the latest HTC HC version.
We didnt like it and wanted to explore the opportunity to rooting and flashing a custom rom.
I have done the following:
1- Unlocked the bootloader from the HTCDev.com website.
2- Flashed CWM to the device (suprisinglly still S ON).
3- Downloaded Leedroid HC V4.3.0 and flashed it to the device using recovery (still S ON).
4- worked very well. Now I thought of trying out different roms to see what suites me.
5- Downloaded Flyhigh Rom and got to recovery, wiped cache and the partition.
6- Flashed the Flyhigh rom which stated "Installation Aborted".
Now the device does not load anything, it starts with HTC logo in the beginning then it disappears and goes to a black screen.
I need some help to know what to do now, I have tried to fastboot the recovery file again, doesn't work, formatted the SD card using an SD card reader, doesn't work. tried to install from RUU but it says unable to connect with the device.
I really dont know what to do. this Flyer is my wife's daily driver and I need to fix it.
Please help.
Faisal
Wrong section, but ok. Flyhigh is a gingerbread rom, GB and HC use different bootloaders, just flash a honeycomb rom and it should work, if you want to go back to gingerbread, you have to change the bootloader, theres a guide on this forum.
Have to fastboot flash boot.IMG as well because you are not s off

I am using HTC Explorer A310e. I rooted my cellphone yesterday. After rooting my cellphone, I had WhatsApp install and uninstalled couple of times, which led to some corruption as well. Thought of clearing the space by "Factory Reset" option with an intention of retrieving the built in apps.
But after I did this, runs a process of resetting and when it restart it stuck at the main screen where HTC comes out on the display. My cell phone is not running beyond this screen. Cellphone screen is still on and displaying the "htc" only. please help me what to do.. Reply as early as possible

Dude HTC Explorer is an awesome device.
Go to HTC Forum . Download any custom ROM . I'll suggest cm9 for now. Copy the ROM zip to the root of your SD card. Download Gapps and copy them too to the root of your SD card.
Reboot into Bootloader (hold volume down + power button).
Highlight Recovery and press power button to select it. Now your phone will boot in recovery mode.
Do a data/factory reset.
Install zip from sd card < then choose zip form SD card < then install rom zip < and then install gapps zip
Fianlly reboot..
Cheers you got your phone back working ..
Thank you omerjerk
Thanq.....
but would there be a direct link for the custom ROM?
I already tried
marvel_perfect_stock.zip
PG05IMG.zip from googled forum links
both of these installation aborted due to some error or issues.
I searched for custom ROM like cm9 as well.
I know the steps to boot into Bootloader and trying to install from a zip file, but the source ROM is not available.... Please help.
Try Gamersab rom. European stock based optimized Rom.

you can factory reset your phone if you have not rooted it... rooting instruction clearly mentions that if you factory reset your phone after rooting it may result that your phone won't boot... only solution after that is to flash a custom Rom... sorry if I am late...
Ok, so I recently got my Desire X and wanted to root it, I chose the Half Sense rom and did these steps
Unlocked Bootloader
Rooted and flashed CWM onto it as my recovery
Went to flash the Half Sens ROM with aroma,
I then flashed the extra zip file but then I had a blank lit screen when I try to boot (after HTC logo)
I realized it was because I didn't flash the boot.img file so I did that,
However now all I get is a HTC Logo with red text underneath for about a second, and then the screen will go blank.
I can access Fastboot, Bootloader, Recovery mode and I can put stuff on my micro sd card. I have fastboot and adb on my computer too.
How do I get this phone working or at least restore it to default settings??!!
Is it the rom?
I have no backup file (stupidly)
Advice will be thanked!! I really need it.
try reflashing rom....if u have jb hboot, u may need to change ur version of recovery...and then reflash rom with boot.img.....i hope this solves ur prob
