How is it possible that my evo3d has this quadrant scores?? Even less than single cores phones..

I have no idea what you screwed up, but, I did notice terrible quadrant scores. I got my EVO4G up to ~2400 (with Snap kernel, I know, it cheated)....I forget what I got the NS4G up to but it was like 2600-2800 range....and I'm pulling like 1800? Lemme check...okay, at 1728/1728 perf governor (like it matters) 2426....you know what? Nevermind. I don't know what I did wrong before, but, this is more reasonable....I still think it should go WAY higher....3000+ easily....I'm blaming the app for not being multi-core enough.
Netarchy's new kernel. love it.

Yeah, I figured...it's why I try to kill as much as possible before benchmarking. Though I know it's hard to control Android's desire to open some random app or service for seemingly no reason. So far as the benchmarks are concerned I don't think Quadrant is multithreaded and would even doubt the parallelizability of most of it's test.

Here, this is from my answer to another persons question.
View Full Version : asynchronous dual core vs others
18th June 2011, 08:46 AM
I have a question about the 3D's dual core that I'd like more clarification on the vague answers I'm getting by searching this site and google. So I've read that the core is asynchronous so basically meaning the second core doesn't do much work unless needed as others like the tegra 2 and exynos have both cores running or something similar to that, and that this is affecting the benchmark scores. I also read that one would basically double the score of the 3D to get a more accurate reading. Can anyone confirm or further explain this?
18th June 2011, 09:18 AM
Yes, asynchronous is when something operates on another thread whereas the main thread is still available for operating. This allows for better performance in terms of managing tasks. Now just because it doesn't score high on a benchmark, it doesn't mean it is going to perform. Also this allows for better performance for the battery.
I haven't slept for the past 12 hours so if this doesn't help you, just let me know and I will fully elaborate on how the processor will operate on the phone. Now time for bed :'(
In short, asynchronous operation means that a process operates independently of other processes.
Think of transferring a file. A separate thread will utilized for doing so. You will then be able to do background things such as playing with the UI, such as Sense since you will be using the main thread. If anything were to happen to the transferring file (such as it failing), you will be able to cancel it because it is independent on another thread.
I hope this makes sense man, kind of tired. Now I'm really going to bed.

Try backing down your OC to 1.5 not all processors like being pushed hard. I had the same crappy scores at 1.7. after backing down my scores on quadrant were in the 2800 range.

Let me be clear, i am not trying to infer that i am substantially smarter than you (in this subject i am likely not), rather this is one of those teach a man to fish type moments. 1.6 is overkill, plus if you do want one badly, I would suggest you start reading some programming dummies and bibles how to make one yourself.
your question is more like an demand request. least chip in $$$ for the developers, they might let loose, and make one to brick your phone.
this are my thoughts and suggestions after reading your respond!!

what the point of showing off, when in the middle showing bling bling, and DIES...that will be a total embarrassment... wouldnt you say oh ****...hides in the corner...
Early in development of JACs kernel (Maybe in the beginning of his original kernel thread) there were test pushing the .3 & .4 marks that ended up frying/bricking phones. I'm pretty sure there is a reason why no one has posted anything as "stable" past .3 or even .299 for that matter.
Im not sure how to do it our even how to read it, but I was under the impression that the cpu max is in a # value form. Worst case scenario plug in a #... What's the worst that can happen? :ekk: lol

I understand exactly what you mean. I think what you need to do in order to fix this problem is to put it in a box. Label the box 'magic evo fixing box'. Then close your eyes, and say 'magic box, fix my evo'. BOOM! You're evo will be perfect after that.
My device is rooted I also installed shooter rewind, remix 3d evo kernel, it freezes when I OC over 1728, also the oc is missing 1782000 which is actually 1.8 ghz 1.7 is okay but I liked it better when it was 1.8

Sorry, I honestly thought it was a troll post. All you had said was 'can someone help me? I'm having problems with my device!". That is so unbelievably vague. You didn't specify what type of problem, if it was rebooting, if the screen was shutting off on it's own, if it wouldn't read the sd card, etc etc. No one would have had any clue how to help you, since there was no description of what type of problem you were actually having. Again, sorry for the sarcasm, my mistake. Typically it is custom to explain what type of problem you're having, what software (rom/kernel) you're on, when the problem started, and if any changes were made prior to the problem beginning.
Anyways, to keep it simple, some phones simply cannot overclock as high as you're trying to do. They can become very unstable when clocked too high. It seems you have found your highest stable point, which you said is 1.7. I would just stay with that. Eventually there will be more kernels out that are more refined, and you may be able to clock it higher, but for now I would just stick with where you are stable. What rom and kernel are you on?

Then don't overclock that high dude. take it down a notch. Certain roms can go higher then others. This isn't a problem really, just do a battery pull and lower it and find a stable place while staying Overclocked

Np. I was actually looking for a response from someone who has knowledge but anyway, the reason why I'm asking is because before the perma root came out I was able to OC to 1782000 = 1.8ghz and had no issues it ran fine I had it @ 1.8ghz for like 3 weeks but I flashed RCMIX_3D_EVO_v2.2.3.zip and it's at default ( 1188000 = 1.2ghz ) and it goes up to ( 2050000= 2.1ghz ) but between ( 1728000= 1.7ghz ) and ( 1836000= 1.9ghz) is supposed to have ( 1782000 = 1.8ghz 54*33 )..... can you help me out with this?

Just some advice OP, stop with you rude remarks back to what others are saying. You didn't start off this thread on the right foot in terms of being flame proof. In the future be sure to include a little more as to whats going on from the get go or your going to get taunted/flamed etc.
As for the latter half of this thread, I would highly recommend not insulting others for what they prefer to do in their spare time. If you came to XDA for help, make sure your post's are more than just a "HELLLLPPPPP MAH PHONEZ GONNNA EXPLODEZ". Shadowgun is out! how well does it work for are evo 3d? any reviews guys?
I have purchased it but need to use Chainfire 3d Pro to play it. I had to scale to 16bit color but still looks awesome. Played for 10 min only since I am at work. The game is awesome. Best graphic yet. I feel like I'm playing an xbox 360 game. The game does require 250mb of sd card space so by the time its done your 15min return window will have expired. And a few times the download stops and you have to redo it again. Maybe its a server thing.
Here I posted my setting on chainfire thread and thanks to 'a user' for some tip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18795565&postcount=1731
Enable the following:
Reduce texture quality (this ones optional) - This reduce texture to 16 bit color (I disabled it on mine and game ran with better resolution)
Reduce texture size - this downscale textures
Disable MapBuffer emu - may make some games work

Chainfire has a setting if you use Nvidia plugin you can do a "Fix Market settings" which will trick the Market that you have a Tegra 2 device so the game will show up when you search for it.

Exactly, Chef. He knows exactly how to buy games with Chainfire.

But trying to "draw people out" into posting links where none exist is juvenile, (it also makes you look silly), and is also basically entrapment.

There's an update to Shadowgun which some have reported broken graphics (read Market comments) so if you decide to try it make sure you do a backup first. Also it looks like the update requires more data download. I tried it but after it asked me to download more data (says 250mb) I skipped it and restored my old back up of the game. Didn't wanna be stuck with broken downloads like last time or chance ruining my old data.
Does anyone know what this update entails?
I think the only way for me to get Chainfire3D to work for me is to buy it. The free version completely screws up all of my graphics in games.

Also it looks like the update requires more data download. I tried it but after it asked me to download more data (says 250mb) I skipped it and restored my old back up of the game. Didn't wanna be stuck with broken downloads like last time or chance ruining my old data.
Does anyone know what this update entails?

The update ruined it on both my phone and my tablet which has tegra 2
you know... there is a "no-tegra" version out there
Its funny that when I first bought the phone alot of people on Xda were saying how slow and laggy it was and I was starting to regret my purchase but a couple of weeks later and im thinking to myself how fast my phone is. I guess what Im trying to say is if you want to buy a Note go ahead and do so and see for yourself if its laggy dont just take others words for it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA

I disagree I went from the Skyrocket and my Note was a lot slower and really laggy. I just swapped my Note for another one today and WOW this new one I got today is totally different. It is just as smooth and fast as my Skyrocket. If anybody is having performance issues you need to get it swapped out ASAP you will wish you had sooner.

That's not really so funny.
I also came from the Skyrocket and initially thought the Note was fast. Than I came on Xda and alot of user were reporting on how slow their phones were. Than I started noticing lag every where. Now after not thinking about it for awhile I dont notice the lag anymore. So my point is that by others saying how bad it was I started seeing the same0, whether it was there or not.

After freezing half a dozen bloat apps I found my Note was running much nicer. Stock rom, rooted.

which apps did you freeze?
The phone running slow isn't a hardware problem..

just flash a good ROM, don't expect good performance from a stock ROM

I have the note, although it is the international version.
When I first got it, it had just a little lag here and there. I don't use touchwiz, I use go launcher. I've had 4 updates, now at 2.36, LB2 and this last update (got it Thursday night) made this thing smooth with ZERO lag. Even scrolling apps in the app drawer, which, would lag for maybe 1-2 flips, then smooth out, is smooth as
silk with zero lag.
I lost root some time back, so it isn't a root issue, but perhaps on the at&t version it has to do with the bloat apps that run all the time?

okay not bashing here so dont take this wrong but I'm just trying to wrap my head around this statement, so you pay $300+ for your device but dont expect stock ROM performance to be any good?...seriously? I dont understand why someone wouldn't of course, and if it did underperform (mine runs fine) as a consumer you have every right to take it back. I think alot of people lose sight of the fact that it's still a PHONE that can now do amazing things that you would not have had the luxury of just a few short years back. And granted, the awesome development we enjoy through these forums does improve quality and enjoyment value of these devices to the point of maybe spoiling us as advanced users, but remember the vast majority of consumers of these devices are typical users and to them (and me) the Note on GB/Touchwiz although not a perfect machine is still an amazing device right "out of the box".

It is an amazing device but the Carrier$ load it down with u$ele$$ and unnece$$ary $oftware to $queeze more money from you. In the process the Bloatware DOES in fact hinder the performance as they run even when you don't launch them yourself. By getting rid of the bloatware you are unleashing the true potential of this beast of a phone.
Think of it this way... If you bought say a Subaru WRX STi and when you went to go pick it up and it had a bunch of useless Car Dealer stickons and random crap that hindered the performance, you are saying you wouldn't be upset ?

Very true. I'd probably be using an iphone if it weren't for the DEVs here. Sad that we need them to unlock the full potential of our devices. We also get better support from them than the companies that make them. A great example of that is the HP Touchpad.
Support your local DEVs. I do so by adding to their beer/coffee funds. Coffee is better as it keeps them up longer to work on things

Seriously, is your need for validation that overwhelming?
I seem to recall a grossly ignorant thread of yours recently about the GS4 charger. Given that, perhaps you might want to rethink your claim of infallibility and perhaps do a bit of introspection about why folks might be skeptical of what you post, m'kay?

What are you looking for, money, election votes, a new car? So many have said exactly what you have. You the undercover android police? Apple is hiring. Let me leak mine, the Galaxy 8 will have, 16 cores, 16g ram, and a 15" screen.
Please don't close this thread. We need to give him his credit due.
I think there's an underlying need to learn more about personal truth. Dr. Phil is an expert on personal truth and authentic self and has some really great insight. Your desire for external validation tells the rest of the world how you view yourself. Here's a great article.

You seem to forget what you said. You said the reason Verizon S4 was delayed because it will have the Snapdragon 800. Now tell me which part of that becomes true? Fake charger post was a joke as well. Didn't laugh a bit though.
but I don't lie and when I say something is cause I got very powerful inside leaks and proof.
Troll! You have a powerful leak info on who will win the Stanley Cup? Got $$$ on it.
