You already have unlocked bootloader, so BE CAREFULLY DO NOT RSD ANY DOWNGRADE FROM MOTO in this case 2.1.3
The best way is Download the FULL SBF 2.1.3 and extract the partitions from the SBF and just moto-fastboot to the phone... I will check and will post details
Ok if Nothing else work as for example command "moto-fastboot -w"
You can try this one (need a Windows PC)
1. Make a new folder (for example c:\atrix)
2. Dowload and unzip this file:
http://www.filesonic.com/file/14467...16_A004_M001_ HWolympus_1g_Service1FF.sbf.gz
You will end after unzipped with a file as follow put it inside of the new folder:
OLYEM_U4_2.1.3_SIGNED_UCAOLYPORTFR_P016_A004_M001_%20%20HWolympus_1g_Service1FF.sbf
3. Download this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/453821014/MotoAndroidDepacker.zip
and unzipped on the same new folder
4. Now run MotoAndroidDepacker.exe
5. Menu->Open File->OLYEM_U4_2.1.3_SIGNED_UCAOLYPORTFR_P016_A004_M001_%20%20HWolympus_1g_Service1FF.sbf
6. Menu->Split To FOlder
7. You will end with a new folder with a long name as follow:
OLYEM_U4_2.1.3_SIGNED_UCAOLYPORTFR_P016_A004_M001_%20%20HWolympus_1g_Service1FF-extracted
8. Now rename the following files as follow:
CG55.smg -> recovery.img
CG56.smg -> boot.img
CG57.smg -> system.img
CG58.smg -> webtop.img
CG62.smg -> preinstall.img
9. Move those files to the new folder C:\atrix
10. Download this file (moto-fastboot) and unzip it to the new folder C:\atrix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=635568&d=1308927194
12. Disconect the USB form the phone, Turn off the Phone and now Press VOL down while you turn on the phone until show up "unlocked" tag and under this "fastboot" tag, now press once VOL up and it will show up a tag that it said "Starting fastboot.....", now connect the phone to the PC
11. Now open a DOS windows (cmd.exe) and go to the foler C:\atrix and run the following commands:
moto-fastboot flash boot boot.img
moto-fastboot flash system system.img
and finally
moto-fastboot -w
moto-fastboot reboot
and Done it must boot without any problem

is ur phone rooted?
is ur phone unlocked?
does it have CWM installed?
if yes then use fruitcake http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009
if no then what is ur current rom?
I am having the same problem. The bootloader is not unlocked. I was rooted and running Gingerblur 3.5. When I attempted to upgrade to alien, everything went awry. I followed the commands above (intended for unlocked, I know, but Im getting desperate) and recieved the following error "failed to boot 2, starting RSD mode"
Please help!

I decided to update to 2.3.4 after using froyo with the latest gingerblur. I read that i can update straight from gingerblur to 2.3.4, I wish I didn't lol. I followed this guide and got up to step 2 with no problem. Then I got kind of confused, since I already had cwm on my phone I just put this on my sd card and booted into tenfars cwm recovery using the system recovery app. I then selected the gingerbread update and it seemed like it installed just fine but when I rebooted I got up to the green motorola gingerblur screen and it would turn off and turn back on. So I then tried to flash back to 1.2.6 using rsd lite which failed. It still only gets up to the green motorola gingerblur screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know how I can get my phone back into working order and properly install kens 2.3.4 rom? The bootloader is still unlocked.
Do you have the new cwm? If so you can flash the 2.3.4 from kennethpenn . If you don't have the lastest it wont work. Fyi the lastest is install with fastboot did you do this? Let me know .

Fastest fix is to fastboot htkw build of gingerbread then flash to the one from kenneth.
have you ever used fastboot? if not i will walk you though it.
1st go download the htkw build http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VLAKXBB3
Fastboot files for u http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138092 choose if u have
32 or 64 bit
2st make sure the moto-fastboot or fastboot (they both work i have tested )file is in your c:\
you have to cd the drive first so make sure its in c:\ .FYI make sure all the files are in one folder not the root drive
so name a folder (whatever) then cd that folder from cmd.
Dont use " " just showing you commands
one at a time and wait for them
Then go to cmd
"cd c:\moto-fastboot"
click enter
then type
moto-fastboot flash boot atrix-2.3.4-hktw-boot.img
then
moto-fastboot flash system atrix-2.3.4-hktw-system.img
then
moto-fastboot -w
click enter
Should say writing\sending
Once your done and it completes
type moto-fastboot reboot
enter
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
It says "moto-fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"
edit: nvm downloaded the wrong one lol
Lol I think everyone does that first time ,after you get it back where you can use it. Flash cwm. Then we will go over how to install the good gingerbread.

Got everything working flashed cwm installed kens 2.3.4 rom and rooted it aswell. Thanks for all your help I would of been lost without you lol
Np buddy hope you enjoy your phone.

i actually am stuck in a boot loop as well. i unlocked the boot loader on 2.2, then rooted, then flashed tenfars CWM. all went well. tried to flash ken's 2.3.4, installed fine, but upon reboot went into a boot loop.
so i tried the directions in this thread. but the system image is too large. fastboot worked fine with the boot image, but not system image. any advice? thanks!

lol I believe the reason for that is because the images in the zip weren't made for CWM, but for fastboot. If your fastboot isn't working, make sure you're using the new, updated fastboot from Motorola. Here is a link to it. The files included are for Gingerbread, but I would stick with the Safe update from Kenneth Penn. If anything, just use the Automated Upgrade from here. To use this, try downgrading to 1.8.3 using Fruit cake (don't risk using the SBF on your unlocked bootloader. Might end up with a fancy brick.)
Oh, and before you do anything, BACK UP. =] Friendly reminder =D
Happy upgrading!

This happened to me too. Please help.
This same problem happened to me. I'm brand new to this device. Just got it a few days ago. I think I managed to get the bl unlocked and got it rooted. Then I flashed gingerblur and everything was still okay. But when I tried to flash the latest alien build I got that same bootloop as described in the first post. Then I tried the solution in post #4. And it failed. I saved all the commands I entered and their output if that helps. Right now Im stuck at a screen that says "failed to boot 4" followed by "starting rsd mode". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im a little scared
hallo..
I have been working on my atrix for 8 hours trying to flash 2.3.4 rom .. anyway, i'm stock at flashing tenfar cwm
when i use cdm after unzipping the last update and run the command : fastboot flash recovery recovery-en-0630-1029.img .. i keep getting the same error again and again which is "fastboot" isnot recognized as internal or external command :S
if someone can help me solve this problem i would appreciate it << i'm sure i'm doing or forgatting something stupied >> thank u in advance
are you running that command from the directory your fastboot.exe files are in?
Where do you put your fastboot file and where do you put your recovery image?
Let's say you have them in the same folder, in C:\flash.
Then when you go to Run\cmd, you need to do CD\ C:\flash
Then you can type in the name of the fastboot file, I think it is recommended to use moto-flashboot, so the command wil be moto-fastboot.exe flash recovery ... ... ...
You most likely download the wrong fastboot file u pronounced got the one for linux. Go look for the on e for windows also make sure you are cd the file.
Atrix4G using XDA Premium app
here is the guide i followed step by step. took me about an hour or so give or take start to finish. i unlocked the BL and flashed everything including KP's 2.3.4 beta 4.5.
if you follow this walkthrough exactly as posted, you shouldnt have any issues.

C78P radio had some issues & there was a problem with text messaging, this can solve text messaging issues, this Radio is stronger than 78P, also this Radio is from 2.3.6 OTA update,
And yes cheekrox, u can flash it on your rooted stock rom

Your radios can be inserted into the EternityProject ROMs Thread as they, yup, they're unofficial packages, but flashing official radios.
We should only be sure that those packages are working.

Hi there:
I when through and flash the 85P in the Latin America firmware from Brasil that is posted in the forum. The flash apparently did when through, the phone rebooted, enter the recovery mode with the little android, it changed to a triangle with an exclamation sign and later on rebooted just fine and I have signal. In the about phone, the baseband number still appears as the old one. Is that a sign that the flash does not indeed when through, or it is just a build.pro thing. Any code on the dialer to check what baseband is running on the phone??
[Q] # fastboot flash radio new_radio.img ? YES YOU CAN! :)
Is it possible to use Android SDK's tool; fastboot ?
Of course the RAZR is in AP Fastboot mode. . I am only using GNU/Linux and usually I use the fastboot tool to flash my N1's radio.
Example
Code:
# fastboot flash radio new_radio.img
Updates:
YES! I able to flash the radio with the fastboot method.
Anyway, do it at your own risk!.
Thank you.

Sure, you can do that,
After unzipping the file, rename the radio file to "radio.img",
Then go on with "fastboot flash radio radio.img"

I flashed it with fastboot but same thing happen. I got a ok sending and writing radio at cmd and the phone booted to the little android screen. The bar started to fill up, at haft of it the icon changed to a triangle with an exclamation point. After some second it rebooted and in the about I still have the same old baseband information from the Latin American Fastboot file that is here in the forums, not the new one as 85P.

2nd question:
Is it possible to downgrade the firmware after installing higher version of the firmware.
Example:
If my current radio firmware version is ...78P and upgraded to 85P. Then, I want to downgrade to 73P again... is this possible?
Tips:
To make life easier, you can put the RAZR directly into AP Fastboot mode using # adb reboot bootloader while the RAZR is up running.
In my case, after the fastbott flash ... RAZR displayed the Android robot and open box, with progress bar. After few minutes, it restarted normally.
Remember to md5sum the radio.img file before flashing. The md5 value is in the .xml file.

Hello guys,
Let me preface this with the fact that I have been searching this forum for the past hour and could not find anything pertinent for my situation.
I've updated to the latest GSM OTA (the Vodafone EU one) and all was great, decided to reboot my phone and got into a bootloop. I don't have a recovery to boot from and going to be short on battery soon.
The way I see it, I'm stuck with a bricked phone until the RSD package for the OTA is released. Is that correct? am I missing anything?
Can anyone point me to a relevant thread where I can catch a break?
Cheers!

Please tell us how you fixed this, i have same problem but i already screwed it up more by trying to flash back to ics after i was stuck at boot on JB vodafone. Now i have bricked phone and i wait for Fastboot files, which we dont know when will come out
Got the same problem here
Alright, here goes.
I am not responsible to whatever happens to your phones. This process is described for the Vodafone OTA.
Also, you will lose root
I'm guessing your phones are in a constant bootloop right about now. If they are, you have to make sure you still have some battery left so that on AP Fastboot it shows battery OK. If you don't, follow the guides here to get more juice or get a 'factory cable' and charge your phone.
To download:
- Fastboot from here: http://dfiles.eu/files/bih3tmg7b
- OTA kernel (here: http://d-h.st/xat )
- The whole OTA here ON YOUR SDCARD
- original ICS RSD Image here
Process:
Extract the fastboot somewhere accessible like c:/fastboot
Extract the kernel and the original ICS files on your desktop
Copy the OTA kernel (boot_3.0.8-g7198280) to your c:/fastboot folder
Copy 'system_signed' from the original ICS archive to your fastboot folder
Open the command prompt (search for cmd.exe in your programs)
Navigate to c:/fastboot (use "cd .." to excape a folder and "dir" to list the files in a folder )
Go to AP fastboot on your phpne and do the following from the command prompt:
fastboot flash boot boot_3.0.8-g7198280.img
fastboot flash system system_signed
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now restart your phone and enter recovery the normal way volUp+volDown + power button then select Recovery, then volUp+volDown to see the menu.
Do a factory reset
Flash the OTA (that should be on your card)
Reboot
Ta-da!
If after the whole process you get a flash failure when rebooting your phone, use this guide to get rid of that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1634223
If this helped you, please show the 'Thanks' button some love. Also, post here if you run into trouble, DO NOT PM!

That's weird. Prolly the flash was messed up somewhere..
Try this before "fastboot flash boot boot_3.0.8-g7198280.img":
extract recovery_signed and allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin from the ICS folder and put them into the fastboot folder
do this
fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed

Well i give you thumbs up and thanks for you helping hand, however it still doesnt work gives preflashvalidation failure on system_signed flashing. If you have some more ideas it would be really nicce to try, meanwhile i think we will just have to wait for fastboot files. For your information, I managed to unbrick my phone. Problem seemed to be my CID.IMG. After erasing it, I could enter recovery and installl JB from ext-sdcard. Now I have to use BP Tools tools to boot, because as soon as I restore CID, the device doesn't boot.
Really strange, because my phone is actually from Europe (d/a/ch), Switzerland. Maybe it's due to the fact that I switched to the chinese JB Ota leak before updating to the EU leak.

I have been trying to get everything done without having to ask questions since there are so many all over the place and I can see how it can get tiring trying to help everyone when their may be an answer out there already if you look. However, I have ran into an issue that I can't seem to find much information on. I have the HTC Rezound that is S-On (apparently you need a Linux machine to get S-Off which I don't have. Using Windows 7.) and have been using fastboot to get things done. I have unlocked the bootloader and have installed the 'Amon Ra' recovery and setup Superuser and SU. As far as I know, I have to use ROM's that are S-On friendly (right?) and I chose to try out 'EclipticRez' and later 'Talon'.
As I tried to flash the ROM's through fastboot it fails with the following errors every time and I cannot continue:
archive does not contain android-info.txt
archive does not contain android-product.txt
From what I found is that it may be a bad download of the ROM. Maybe.... But it happened consecutively with two different ROM downloads.
I also read that maybe the recovery wasn't setup, which as far as I know it is. Should I use a different recovery? Everyone usually references to using CWM, which I wouldn't mind using but I couldn't figure out how to get SU access.
Can I just create the files myself? They are only txt files after all.
If anyone can help me with this I will be so grateful! I'm pretty new to this and it has definitely been a fun learning experience for me
Much thanks in advance!

1) Switch to TWRP or CWM for your recovery.
2) You install the rom zip via recovery.
3) You then need to fastboot flash the kernel from the rom zip you downloaded. You don't install the whole rom via fastboot.
To borrow from the CM11 thread.
- Place the boot.img into the platform-tools folder of the Android SDK's install directory.
- Boot to the bootloader.
- Ensure your device is connected to your computer and that your device is now in fastboot mode. This is a white screen and it says fastboot on it.
- Open a Terminal (OSX or Linux) or CMD window (Windows) and cd to the platform-tools directory of the Android SDK's install directory.
- Issue this command to flash the boot.img we placed in the platform-tools folder earlier:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
- Watch the output of the terminal, it should say something like "sent successfully".
- Finally send this command:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Since you're s-on, you'll need to do this whenever you install a new rom. Using these steps, you can install any rom you want.

also to note....you dont have to install linux to get s-off....if you follow my guide you can do it straight from a live disk rather than installing it....so it wont erase or mess up your windows partition at all
Solved!
Thank you, Mjones, I finally got it! I knew it was much easier than I was making it out to be. I was missing the kernel! Yeah, a crucial part in the process, I know
I first ran CWM and flashed the ROM over and ran the .zip through recovery (which I couldn't understand at first as I could never find it in the directory) but the installer would only go 50% and would fail... makes sense why now lol
I later flashed TWRP and backed up again after recovering from the fail. I flashed over the kernel and voila! So simple... Had to slap myself.
Thanks again! Case solved.
REV3NT3CH, that is sweet!! I have been hoping there is a way to gain s-off with Windows. I have 7 at work and 8.1 (which I can't get anything to work on) at home. I actually have to focus on work today haha so I'll look into the method and try it out tomorrow if I can. Thanks for all of the help.

I need to be able to do it via fastboot, as my Motorola Electrify M is stuck in a bootloop and there's no way I could find to boot into recovery. I'm using ./fastboot update name_of_update.zip and it is an official OTA .zip but I still get this error. Any suggestions?

Did you try this first? (Right from Moto's site)
Perform a factory reset using external keys
1. Power off the phone, press and hold volume down button, press power button
2. Screen will come up with "Fastboot", press Vol down key to cycle through choices until you get "Android Recovery", then press Vol up key
3. Wait for the "triangle ! / Android" screen then go on to step 4
4. Press both Vol up and Vol down key simultaneously. A menu will come up
5. Tap on Vol down key until "wipe data/factory reset" is highlighted, and tap Power key. Another Confirmation screen will come. Tap on Vol down key until coming to Yes and tap Power key
6. After userdata is cleared, the "reboot system now" option will be highlighted by Default. Tap Power key
7. Phone will reboot to initial setup screen.

Qualcomm is harder to flash than MTK that can use SP FlashTool.
on this I use QFIL but keeps "sahara error". I tried searching and try moving firmware file to bin but no Luck. I'm currently trying different version of QFIL Tool.
If it FAILS my only HOPE is to use MUT-QCfire which will Require a "SmartCardReader" Which is a bit pricey and I don't even know if it will work on my device.
