Hello,
I am hoping someone could help me solve an issue I have been having with multiple sleep/hypnosis apps that use looped samples. They have been working fine until the recent system update to 4.5.91.
What is happening is that when the sample gets to the end of its track and is intended to loop with no pause for a theoretically seamless loop, the sample now pauses for a half of a second before looping, thereby disrupting the effectiveness of the software. It is even more of an annoyance when multiple tracks are involved all stopping at different intervals.
I have even been trying to work with tesla software and their ambiscience sleep app and their 40+ binaural beat pattern software. At this point even they are baffled. I have also tried sleep now and I am getting the same issue.
I know it was immediately after the system update and cannot figure it out.
Any ideas? Anyone else able to verify the issue as well?
Thanks!

So up until today, I've had not one single issue with my flyer. It's been super speedy and very responsive. I left it last night on the charger uploading a video to YouTube. (WiFi only BTW.) When I woke up the upload was done and the battery was charged. But everything seemed super slugish. Just flipping between home screens was painfully slow. I restarted the tablet and was shocked to see the device hang on both shutdown and reboot. For much longer than normal. I've never seen it this slow. I went in and killed some un necessary services and processes ... No change. I restarted the tablet again and if seemed slightly faster. But not like before still. I haven't tried rooting I'm still 100% stock. Could it be a virus? If so does a factory reset take care of that. Is rather not have to do that but I'm willing If its sure to solve my issues. Any other ideas from anyone? My recent installs include Google+, VidTrim, xda, and soundcloud.
I'll post back here if things change or I find the culprit. In the meantime has anyone else run into similar slowdowns?
P.s. I was wondering if it was an HTC sense issue. It crashed on me once before rebooting the first time and seemed to take forever to load after powering on ... All the animations were laggy and the clock was off by about an hr..... Frustrating. I really like this device.
Hi,
I get a major slowdown on my Flyer when connecting to 'free' public wifi sites. These are sites that provide free wifi after you have signed in via a web page where you enter a username/password or checked a box to accept some terms and conditions etc.
The wifi at my home or via my HTC Desire hotspot is fine as are all other wifi hotspots where I connect directly using the name and credentials stored in my Flyer. It's only these ones that require the additional login that give me trouble.
When it hits, the Flyer becomes unusable for anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes. Hitting the home button generally shows a blank screen that gradually (and I mean g-r-a-d-u-a-l-l-y) redraws. A message stating that HTC Sense has stopped appears and you have the option to restart sense, wait or tell HTC. None of these help as the message box just disappears and then reappears about 30s later. In all cases I've noticed that the sync icon is showing in the notification bar.
It's a real annoyance, but I can mitigate it if I login to the sites before the sync starts. Unfortunately if I accidentally wander into range of one of these sites, and the Flyer finds it and decides it's time to sync then it stops again and I have to very patiently wait for the screen to respond, pull down the notifications, switch to the config settings and switch off wifi. There is still a delay until the sync realises that the wifi is no longer available.
As I said above I also have a HTC Desire that connects to these networks with no problem. This is not running sense however as I needed more application space so instead it's running gingervillain 2.7 (android 2.3.4) and has no problems with the connection.
So I suspect Sense and some synching operation its running. Will do some more investigation tomorrow as more users come online at work.
Cheers.
Haven't heard of any Android viruses that slow down the system like you are talking about, only malware that is disguised as an app. So if you haven't installed anything recently, I would say not any type of malware.
Factory reset may help. But of course, that means starting from scratch re-installing all your apps, setting up your home screens, etc.
I'm attributing it to the fact that the thing had been up and running for like a week. After a restart it seemed to have cleared up. Note to self .. power down and reboot every few days.
I had something very similar...
I installed "a bunch of stuff", then went traveling (across Europe), and tried to use the gps as I went. The flyer slowed to a crawl and became very temperamental. It felt like something was hogging the processor. Several reboots did not fix the problem.
Even sometimes the unlock screen could not get enough processor cycles to complete the unlock.
I started uninstalling the various apps I had installed, and eventually normal service was restored (and has continued fine).
Unfortunately, I was not rigorous about the uninstalling sequence, so I can't be sure what caused it.
My suspicion is that it was an Engine I installed for Text-to-speech settings. But it is only a suspicion. Like I said I installed a bunch of stuff (stupid really).
If someone can point me to an installation history howto, I'll try to be more precise.
Hello everyone!
We have an fleet management app that runs continuous background updates every 1 minute using an Android service. We are seeing that sometimes the devices are failing to receive new GPS locations, and continuously report that they are at one location, when they are actually somewhere else. You can imagine this doesn't work well for a fleet management app. Rebooting the device seems to rectify the problem in the short-term. It also doesn't happen on every phone, even if they are the same model with same fw.
Any ideas? Thanks!
How often did your watch return this error message? It happens several times a day for me. And of course it always happens the few times I really can't be using my phone. I'm about to just box it up and not use it. It causes me more grief than pleasure.
I should add that it's always eventually followed up by a Bluetooth disconnection. And my phone is always less than a foot away when it happens. Like in my car mount and I'm trying to set a quick reminder from my watch at a stop light or something.
Supposedly it cones from the battery saving feature on phones others claim its from switching from dalvik to ART...
Do you have any custom kernel or roms installed on your phone. I've noticed a lot of custom kernels change how much or often your phone sleeps or underclocks CPUs that would be active. This in my experience creates a delay in response.
My Pixel 6 is on the May release. This un-mute behavior has happened off and on for the last few monthly releases. I do not know when it began.
While on a phone call -- muted -- using (different) bluetooth earbuds, I will occasionally get a stern reminder from someone on a conference call that I 'need to go on mute'. Thankfully, it only seems to happen when I'm in the kitchen pouring a drink.
I am unsure as to when the variables are when it occurs:
- on wi-fi calling vs network,
- using bluetooth vs speaker,
- screen on vs off (whether manually or via timeout)
I try to watch it carefully but have never caught it changing. It seems to more likely happen when the screen has gone dark.
I cannot find any other reports of this. I need help to figure it out...
No ideas? How can I report this to google? (I -did- do the help thing from the pixel -- also no response). TIA!
Never got any response to how to debug this. Seems related to having done a mass re-install after upgrade of some old, questionable apps. By nuking the apps and reinstalling one-by-one, I'm back to no issues with mute.
I got the 256/12 model F4 GT, MIUI 14.0.1 Android 13... Im facing the following issues....help? Please?
Speaking on the phone on speaker mode while playing CODM is very bad, they can't really hear me as it cuts out a lot unless I use headphones (even though I had no issues at all on galaxy S9 or even Honor 8x).
I sometimes get very bad lag while playing CODM. I close all apps then clear out everything using the pre-installed "boost speed" app to close apps and clear cache, and when that wasn't working tried different apps like ccleaner, and still the game lags unless I reboot (and even then sometimes that doesn't help, it still lags). I even lowered anti-aliasing settings and still have issues. (Even though I'm using a gameshark cooling fan, and this happens even before the phone heats up). Friends connected to the same network don't have issues so it's not a network issue.
Many times while on the phone while playing, trying to boost performance using the game turbo options will automatically tab out of the game and into the call (which cancels out the turbo). Trying to do it again will do the same: minimizes game and maximizes the call screen and cancels the turbo. This also happens after closing the game and trying to run the "boost speed" app to close other apps, before it's able to close background apps, it switches to the phone call. Keep in mind this doesn't always happen, but when it does, there's no way around it. I tried uninstalling updates to the caller app and reinstalling, no use.
Im considering romming to something else as I believe the software is very bad, but it's a 3 months old phone, I'd really rather not lose my warranty. Also I don't want to lose trigger button functionality. I was considering romming to the original black shark software but I'd really rather not rom for now. I tried reinstalling all the apps I'm having issues with and it didn't help.
Any ideas that could help? Would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
