"Download map area" not appear in Labs? - Wildfire Themes and Apps

Gmap is upgraded to 5.8 but "download map area" did not appear in labs, only "scale bar" and "measure". Any idea?

There is a way to enable it but you need to compromise...
Text will be almost unreadable. Do you still want it?

Anyway here it goes.
clear data and cache of gmaps. uninstall gmaps.
add this line;
ro.opengles.version=131072
to;
system/build.prop
then reboot. install gmaps. Voila! Horrible looking gmaps with offline browsing

I had the issue with horribly distorted maps a few weeks ago but I've gone back and checked just now and the issue seems to have resolved its self. I've also got a "bigger text" option in labs now, which I'm pretty sure has helped!

Bigger text option definitely helps. Low quality graphics sucks though...
I use Locus instead to be honest. It gives me offline maps minus navigation.
When I need navigation I have Navigon and Ndrive installed.

Thanks for the solution, but no other way to fix this without messing up the text?
btw, how to access to system/build.prop ? root explorer causes force close in my phone.

Sorry mate, there is no other way... By the way you are not messing up the text. You are correcting it
Es file explorer comes with a root explorer. You need to activate it from the settings menu.
Or just try another root explorer. simples.

try to update Superuser app and su binary, or try with another file manager...

i added that line to build.prop and now on restarting phone, the phone keeps refreshing the screen that says quietly brilliant and plays that bootup sound
now how can i edit build.prop, is their a way to do it via recovery/fastboot ?

ok found a solution....If you have messed up your build.prop then you can boot in recovery(Clockwork MOD) and there you have adb access

It happened to me as well. It kept rebooting for a good 10 minutes. Then decided to boot up normally. weird...

[Q] Screen touching problems [SOLVED]

I'm having some trouble with my X10i. Specifically using the touch screen itself. A lot of the time when i'm doing something and i release my thumb from the screen, the phone will continue to behave as though my thumb was still pressed on the screen.
This is more noticable when i'm typing an SMS (and other keyboard related activities). For example, i'll press the backspace button once to delete a letter but the phone will continue to hold the backspace until i press it again. I've tried various keyboards and have the same problem still. Another is using the XMBC remote, for example, i'll press the left button, let go and the phone will continue to assume that the button is still being pressed and just keep going.
There are other apps that have this problem too so i'm going to assume that there is something wrong with the screen itself. What i'm wondering if it is something I can solve by wiping the phone (reluctant to but will if necessary), calibrating somehow, or another method.. Or if it is a problem with the hardware itself and will have to get sent away for fixes.
Same freaking problem here and I don't know what to do about it

change build.prop in this line:
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=80
this is what i have see yours
if you dont have this line create at the bottom of the document (ADITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES)
I've added the line to the bottom via root explorer, rebooted and have tried to recreate the scenarios. So far I haven't noticed the problem yet so i'll assume for now that the problem has been solved (if it hasn't, i'll return )
So thank you very much for your help rendeiro2005. Much appreciated.

[Q] Uninstalling call recorder in DAS BAMF 1.6.2

I can't figure out how to uninstall call recorder. It FC on every call that comes in and I don't record calls anyways. I tried under applications but the uninstall option is greyed out. Didn't see anything under BAMF tools either.
I would love an answer on this, too
just use root explorer or any file manager to delete the apk out of the system/app folder. It's super easy to do I used titanium backup to delete mine and it worked fine.
I have an uninstaller of sorts I will be posting in a bit.

In the meantime you can just uncheck recording calls in the preferences.

In titanium backup you can go to the backup/restore tab, find call recorder and hold your finger on it. There should be an option to remove by some kind of exploit. I don't have the app anymore to try that method but it could work.
Hey guys,
Long time reader, first time poster.
First, I am loving Bamf nte. Loving!
I just have a simple question:
In the pull down notification bar, where the recently used Apps are located on stock, there's just an empty space. Is there a way to get recently used Apps or something like settings goggles to appear there? The empty space is driving me bonkers.
I know I can long press the home button to bring up recently used Apps as well I'm just so used to having them in the drop down bar. Any help would be appreciated and again, fantastic work on a great rom.

There's supposed to be controls like wifi, bluetooth, etc. Did you flash this using ROM Manager? I had this same exact problem flashing with ROM manager, I went back and flashed manually in clockwork and it fixed the problem.
You need to remove
I know this post is old but it is the first one that shows up so I thought I might add this:
You need to remove the application from the device administration list.
For device administration: Menu -> Settings -> Security ->Device administration.

[Q] ROM without "phone functions"

Looking for a light/stripped down ROM or some way of making the ROM not show any programs that relates as a phone. My goal is to just use it via wifi and spotify, and I don't want my youngest kids grab the phone and dial emergency calls.. Someway of remove the "phone functions"
I didn't remove the phone function, but hacked Rosie to show and link to 'Music' instead of 'Phone' and the right button was also remapped to go to the browser. Would that be sufficient?
Hmmm... With AppAdmin, you can delete system apks... I wonder what would happen if you delete Phone.apk...

Removes unnecessary apps (Messaging.apk, Phone.apk, TelephonyProvider.apk)
Completely turns off cell radio on bootup
Installs the radiooptions binary in case your ROM does not include it"

Mystery Data file in Gallery

I keep getting a mystery data file in my gallery app. I try to play the file because it shows up as a video but it doesn't work. I delete it and it eventually comes back. Here is a screenshot of the details of it. Does anyone have a suggestion of where this is coming from and how to get rid of it? Thanks!
I have the same thing. I think it showed up when I made a video available off line on drive. I haven't tried to get rid of it yet so I'm not completely sure on that.

TTS = text to speech, so it is probably related to that.
TTS File
I believe this is caused by a misplaced cache file used by TTS (Text-to_Speech) that is showing up in your gallery. It was probably created if you opened the TTS service under Accessibility in the Settings app. It should be safe to delete but may reappear if TTS is activated, directly or indirectly, again.

It looks like your gallery is mistaking the .tts file for a video file. Apparently .tts can be a file extension for MPEG-2 video formats. Check out this link for more information.
If you want it to stop showing up (and you are rooted) use a file explorer to put a blank ".nomedia" file in the /storage/external_SD/Android/data/ folder and reboot your phone. Or if I remember right, the G3 has a way to hide media files which you dont want to be seen or want to keep private.

I made a mess, cant see calls incoming anymore

I hide the notification of incallUI during a call and now i cant answer the phone cause it doesnt appear the screen to answer, what should i do except a factory reset?
You can go into the phone app notifications and enable it again, also if you're using MIUI you have to enable to show on lock screen on the special permissions on the app info...
Also make sure you have your Default Phone app is set to Google Phone or whatever Dialer you are using, set it again and reboot, you should be good.

Hello,
To solve this go to TWRP. Locate a folder named Package_cache inside etc or system or data. I forgot the exact location. But it should be there.
Delete this folder and reboot to system. That's it.. you will get the cache created again and will be able to see the UI in call. You need not to wait for incoming calls. Even you can dial somebody to check.
Hit thanks if it helps you. Cheers

Actually it worked for me 3 to 4 times (all the times I tried). Not sure why it didn't work for you. It should be.
Any way thanks for keeping posted. Hope a resolution for your issue arrives soon. Thanks
If you are using poco f1... this worked for me...
just update the phone app in play store... then go in app settings and clear cache... restart your device again go in phone apps app info then choose default calling app as phone (google's default phone app)... and boom it worked...
